At Can You Handle The Pressure its all about SNOW as our
'optional' theme!  You can create anything you want as long as you have used
an embossing folder!

I had three snowflake embossing folders and  chose this one with
the larger snowflakes from Tim Holtz Alterations 'Snow Flurries!

I die  cut an oval and placed a never been used before
penguin, his fish and iceberg inside  using an Xcut die.
The sentiment is from a Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp set Eskimo Kisses.

Stitched Ornament

I am the hostess for the new challenge theme at
The Sisterhood of Crafters and I have chosen the theme of
Christmas  with traditional colors of red and green!

This year I have gotten a little hooked on some of the new
stitching dies from Spellbinders and this one is my latest!
Knowing I had this challenge coming up, I stitched it in red and green floss.
I have a few others I've done as well, including some in metallic floss!
If you haven't tried it you should as it is super easy and
quite rewarding when finished!  Even ME with my bad eyesight
can do it, so I know YOU can too!!

The greenery shown is part of the die set, the word joy is
a Cottage Cutz and the quilted background is one of my
favorite embossing folders from WeR Memory Keepers!
I also used some new Nuvo drops I had just purchased
Malted Milk, sounds good enough to eat right, but I wouldn't suggest it...hah!

Make sure to pop on over to The Sisterhood to see some really beautiful
red and green Christmas creations by my 'sistahs'!!

Merry Christmas Poinsettia

At Can You Handle The Pressure I think everyone knows by now
that we are an embossing FOLDER challenge and have an 'optional'
theme which is CHRISTMAS this challenge!

I purchased this Lisa Horton gorgeous 3D Poinsettia embossing folder
earlier this year after watching a youtube video of it.
It also comes with a matching die to cut out the  center Poinsettia
which is what I did with card.  Actually cut out 4 die cut pieces,
one for the underneath glitter piece, one for the entire flower and two other
pieces that I cut apart to do all the layering.
I learned watching the video to die cut the outline pieces first,
then to put them in the embossing folder to emboss,
doing it this way ensures that the embossing doesn't get squished
during the embossing process.
Look at all that gorgeous embossed detail!

Here is a better picture of the embossed piece at the bottom.

The beautiful detail of the embossed poinsettia.

This Lisa Horton EB folder makes me want to shop for more!!

Get those embossing folders out and join us at
Can You Handle The Pressure and check out the beautiful designs by
the design team while there, they are gorgeous!!

Christmas Stockings

We are into our first week of December and it's time for a new
challenge theme at Double D and it fits right in the season as it is
Christmas Stockings!

We have a fun mood board for you
just for that bit more of inspiration!!

CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS

I used a never before used die by Sizzix for my stocking,
in fact I had forgotten I even had it!
The candy cane and the bow came with the die, the other small pieces in the stocking are from a Cottage Cutz set and a bit of greenery from my 'green' bag stash!
The background die is a Tutti Designs and the banner die is
Cheery Lynn Designs!

I used paper from a few older pads of my 6 x 6 paper
trying to use some up, funny thing is by doing that
then before I know it my newer papers will be 'old' as well,
seems it doesn't matter one way or the other
just use it!!

Take a visit to the Double D blog for
plenty of fabulous inspiration!!

Stenciled Holiday Cards

Our December Stencil Fun challenge begins today with an
optional theme of HOLIDAY
meaning you can make any holiday themed card you want,
but keep in mind we are an anything goes challenge so
you can create anything as long as a stencil has been used!

I have 4 various 'holiday' cards I created for my last years
Christmas cards, I think I made over thirty of these in various colors
and designs that I sent out and never featured on my blog until today!

The stencil set is from The Greetery 'Snowflake Soiree' and they put the entire bundle
on sale last year and well it just jumped happily in my cart!!
Though it is not sale right now, I added the link so you
can check it out if interested!!

I also used The Greetery Written in Ribbons stamp and die set for my sentiments.

Card #1

Card #2

Card #3

Card #4

I also have another card to share with you for our 'Anything Goes' part of our challenge.
I used a Sweet Poppy Bauble stencil for this one and a stamped scene from Nellie Snellen inside.
This was intended to be my last years Christmas card but it
was flooded all over the net so much I opted for the snowflake
cards instead.
So this is MY debut with it using non-traditional colors!

I hope you will join us at our Stencil Fun challenge
we sure would LOVE to see YOUR stencil creations!!

The True Meaning of Christmas

We are into December at Peace On Earth
and as always our challenge theme is Anything Goes
with an inspiration board to get your creativeness going!

I let the top left photo inspire me with the Wisemen!
I used an old but never been used before stamp I
purchased eons ago from Heartfelt Creations!
I used my stamp platform to stamp many times to get a complete
ink coverage using Memento Dew Drop Paris Dusk ink.
I fussy cut (why I don't know as I have a scan and cut) the ornament
and placed it on two popped up layers of scrap designer papers
for dimension..
The stamp has a nice sentiment that comes with it I had
intended to use 'Wisemen Still Seek Him' but it wasn't in the
stamp bag where it should of been so that was out!

A view of the dimension!

creations from the design teams, join in with us too!!

White On White Color Challenge

It's the last challenge of 2022 at Colorful Options and the color is
WHITE!

WE have a pretty mood board for inspiration!
Not into white?  Then no worries as all the challenges also have
an optional rainbow color.

For my first card I did the color option of white on white using a
Nellie Snellen 'Snowy Village' embossing folder.
After embossing I added a bit of diamond stickles for some sparkle.

I also created a second card for the rainbow option.
I used my penguin stencil and stenciled them in various rainbow colors.
I added a sentiment and an array of rainbow colored sequins.
This stencil makes the perfect slimline card!

We would love to have you join our challenge at Colorful Options
and while there take a peek at what the DT has for inspiration,
we might be a small DT, but we are mighty!!

Two Old Bats Halloween December Halloween Challenge

It might be December but we still have our year round
Two Old Bats Halloween challenge going
giving you plenty of opportunity to use those Halloween
goodies from you stash!  I, myself totally enjoy getting to put
my Halloween dies and stamps to work!

We do have a fun inspiration board just for that
inspiration but you can create anything as long as it is
Halloween themed!

For my inspiration I went with the bottom right corner
and let that fun spider web influence me!
It is a new stamp for me this year from
Nellie Snellen Fairy Tale Spider and Web.
I stamped in Versamark and used an embossing powder with glitter
from Sparkle N Sprinkles Midnight Madness.
The die cut sentiment is one I received during a DT gig from Tonic!

Hey there, yes YOU, take a peek at
Two Old Bats and see the fun creations from the team
and join in with us too, you know you want to!!

Winter Season December at Four Seasons

We are into our first WINTER season at Four Seasons
and Dar has created this mood board for inspiration!
You can create anything as long as it is winter themed
but I think the mood boards give a great starting point to create!

I let the bottom left corner inspire me!
When going through my dies to see what I wanted to use
I came across a layered die set that I had totally forgotten about.
FIVE layers to be exact if you count the deer!
It took me a bit to figure out each layer but once I did it was super easy!
Each layer is popped up one the one below it!
I made two of these cards (the other one is shown below)
but the first card I made I didn't add stickles to the trees,
that was thought of after I had it completed
so I decided to make a second card and add Diamond Stickles
to give it a snowy/icy effect!

Here is a look at the multiple layers.

This is the first card I made without the Diamond Stickles.

We would love to have YOU join us in our WINTER challenge at
Four Seasons
and make sure to see all the beautiful inspiration from the design team!
