Christmas Floral

It's almost Christmas and I hope you are getting your holidays
ready for the 'big day'!!
We have a new challenge starting today at
Peace On Earth and as usual our theme is Anything Goes
as long as it's Christmas!

We have a fun mood board just for your inspiration
Use it or not, that's up to you but I find it very helpful
when deciding what to create for my card!

Anything Christmas

I actually let both the top left corner and the bottom right
give me some inspiration.  I knew I had a Cottage Cutz die
that would work well for this challenge so I went with that!
The die is Christmas Floral and as usual with
Cottage Cutz, lots of picky little pieces,
but I don't mind, they are worth it in the end I think!

The background die is also a Cottage Cutz die
Nested Stitched Eyelet Oval set,
they have awesome sales, sometimes up to 85% off
that is when I stock up on their dies.
The background paper is a new pad I purchased LAST
Christmas and have just used it, Memory Box Garland paper pad!

I hope you will join us at our Peace On Earth Christmas challenge,
it runs ALL year long with 2 challenges a month
and an awesome design team!!

Lots of White

Our last challenge for the year of 2021 (hard to believe another year is about gone)
at Double D is
LOTS OF WHITE!

Dar has created an all white mood board to inspire you
and give you a few ideas!

I decided to use an embossing folder, in fact I embossed FOUR
different embossing folders and picked this Darice folder once embossed
as I thought it represented white very well plus that I have had it forever
and never used it before.

It was hard to not add much color but I wanted some sparkle and debated
if I should use Nuvo Drops or Stickles
but went with white sequins, yes they ARE white but pick up any color
when you photograph them which happens to be pink this time!

You should see how many photos I took just to get one that worked,
it was a lot!

You don't have to use all white, just LOTS of it to enter!
Take a peek at the Double D challenge and see all the pretty 'whiteness'
from the design teams!

Dies R Us Challenge

It's getting closer to Christmas and we are half way thru the month
which also brings us to a new challenge at Dies R Us
and our theme is ANYTHING GOES.

The last challenge I showed you a Santa gift card holder
and this time I have another but this one is a cute snowman!
This would not only be great for a Christmas gift card or money,
but for a winter birthday as well!
I used the Art Impressions gift card hold envelope die
and the Snowman gift Card Holder Snowman add on!
(links below)

c

As with the Santa I showed last time, I created 15 of these
snowman gift card holders, ALL from scraps of papers
in my stash, a great way to use them up.
These are really fun to make, though making 30 at a time
was quite a fete LOL!
There are also more gift card holder dies available
to use as long as you have the initial gift card envelope die,
making this a great investment!

The hat folds over to the back and the pompom tucks into
a slit in the back, making your gift card/money secure.
This is how it looks with the hat folded back.

I forgot to take a picture of the back of this snowman
gift card, but here is how it looks in the back
when closed (using my Santa back from my previous post)

We would love to have you join us at the Dies R Us challenge!!
Take a peek at all the inspiration from the Design Team while there!

For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.

Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts.

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

Two Old Bats Challenge December Midway Reminder

We are half way thru our Two Old Bats Halloween challenge
and the design team has added a bit more spookiness
for your inspiration!

We also have the fun inspiration board below
that will give you plenty of ideas or just do anything as
long as it is HALLOWEN!

Inspiration Board

I once again let the cats inspire me since I could easily become
a cat hoarder when I am a real old lady LOL!

For my background I used all kinds of left over Halloween snippets
and thought it worked well for my kitty and it was a great way to use up some of those
scraps I have a ton of!!

I had the kitty in my stash of Halloween chipboard pieces
and have to make sure when I send this card out it goes to someone
that won't toss it as I can't bare to think of the poor kitty going it the trash.
Maybe to one of my granddaughters that is 15 and has every card I have ever given her!

The pumpkin is a sticker, I stuck on card stock then fussy cut our for stability!
The bat is a die cut and the sentiment is from a Prickley Pear set>

I hope you will take some time out from your holiday things and
join in with us, there is always a prize with 50 or more players
and sometimes with even less players, you have to play to find out!
Pop on over to Two Old Bats for even more inspiration !!

Holiday Gift Tags

It's our last challenge at The Sisterhood for the year
so the 'sistahs' can take a much needed holiday break!

Our theme is Holiday Gift Tags
chosen by or sister Vickie and these will come in handy
for our Christmas holiday!

I created 3 tags exactly alike using a few already precut dies from my stash.
I have lots and I mean lots as these were used from my granddaughters
baby shower as her theme was woodland babies
and I had made all the decorations
so when the shower was over I salvaged all my die cuts
for a later use and here  they are!

Johari will be a year old in June so that is how long I have had them.

I just love the retro baby deer and here is a close up of a single tag!
I made each tag so it can be tied on or 'stuck' on as I added an
adhesive strip to the back of each!

I hope you will join us with your homemade tags at
The Sisterhood and wish each and everyone of you
a blessed and Merry Christmas!
The sistahs will be back in January with a new challenge...see you then!

Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge #5

 Hello friends!
We are starting our 5th Peace On Earth year round Christmas challenge today
and I hope you can join us!

As always our challenges are
Anything Christmas so that gives you an opportunity to use
what ever you want, but we do have a fabulous inspiration board each
month to give you some excellent inspiration and ideas

I let the mood board inspire me and went with the top right corner!
When we had a store front paper making store I purchased the Stamp On It
There are youtube videos showing how easy this is, but basically
you just peel off the glitter film and place it on the front of the
image and it gives it the glittery effect without all the mess!

I used a couple different older designer papers from my stash and added a ribbon
and bow, which I haven't done much of lately, but I needed something to
finish this card off with and felt t was the perfect addition!

Make sure and pop on over to Peace On Earth
and check out all the fabulous inspiration from our team
and heck, why not join in with us too!!

Snowman Gift Card Holders

Yesterday I showed my Santa Gift Card holders and today I am
showing my Snowman Gift Card Holders by Art Impressions.
You have to purchase the envelope die first which is the main die
then a second die to decorate it and for this one I am using the snowman
(there are several to choose from, making the main die very useful).

I think I made 16 of these in total and they will go to the grands along with the Santa holders.
Another way to use up those scraps of papers!

When the hat is folded over and closed, the pompom fits into a slit
in the back to secure your gift card/money!  I think these are
so clever and they just had a great black Friday sale on their
products, 40% and I MISSED it darn it!!  I had intended to get a few more!

Santa Gift Card Holders

Today I have the rest of my gift card/money holders to share I made for
my own family.  There are so many kids, grandkids and great grandkids
that we finally reverted to giving them all 'moolah'!
I constructed 32 in all, tomorrow I will show you the other half!

These were made with the cutest envelope and Santa die from
Art Impressions!  These are quick, easy and absolutely adorable when finished!

Other then some of the bodies of the gift cards, these were made totally with 'snippets' of papers,
an easy way to use all those scraps up!!

and a few more:

When the card is closed, the hat folds to the back and the pompom fits into a slit at the back to close up,
pretty brilliant wouldn't you say?

I'll be back tomorrow with my snowmen gift card holders!!

December Two Old Bats Challenge

It's December but Two Old Bats is making Halloween
year round, how cool is that?  It gives a great opportunity
to use all your fun Halloween stash,
not just one month a year but an entire TWELVE!

We as always have a fun inspiration board but it's just that, inspiration!!
You can choose to use it or not as our theme is always
Anything goes HALLOWEEN!

Inspiration Board

I usually try to use the board if I can, it's a great part of the challenge
for me to see if have something to represent the board!

I let the cat in the window on the bottom left inspire me!
I knew I had a never used before cat stamp from Prickley Pear
Scary Cat and Bat and matching Die.
What's really funny I never noticed (or I forgot) that there was a small bat
included in both the stamp and cat die set, AND also when I went to get the links
I see they now have a Scary Cat set TWO!!
I am sure that will end up in my mailbox real soon!!

I die cut a window and shutters and hung the shutters like you
find on an old dilapidated house and added a silly pumpkin sticker
I have had around forever!  I stuck him to a scrap of black card stock
then fussy cut him out to give more stability,
after all I didn't want him to fall off the window sill and smash!
I also added the bat that surprised me when I die cut the cat!

I know it's December but we would still would like you to take a break
from your holiday card making and join in with us at Two Old Bats!
Super design team inspiration AND if we reach 50 or more players
we give away a prize, sometimes with even less players, you just have to play to find out!

Double D Challenge~Christmas JOY

We are into December already and have a fun challenge for you at
Double D challenges and it is JOY!
We want to see the word JOY on your creations and
have the fabulous mood board below to inspire you!

I certainly had fun with this mood board.
I had created a different card but it bugged me so much I
replaced it with the card you see now and like it MUCH better!
Aren't we the worse critics of ourselves?  And funny thing
is the other card I did I sold at a show on Saturday first thing!

For this card I fired up my poor neglected Cricut to cut the word JOY
and it did a pretty fine job!  I also used a never used before die from
Tim Holtz/Sizzix Holiday Greens.
All this was placed on a frame from Impression Obsession that had already
just been sitting around waiting to be used!
The little bow I 'stole' from a die by Cottage Cutz
and I used Nuvo's Red berries for the berries.
I don't think I need to tell you what inspired me from the mood board
as you can certainly tell it was the bottom left corner!

A few years ago I saw this on Pinterest and bought a frame, greens.
the word joy and had intended to make one for myself to display
but I only seem to have been able to manage
it in card form so far, maybe THIS is the year!

Take a peek over at the Double D Challenge blog,
the Design Team is sure to bring you lots of JOY!!

Dies R Us Challenge

Time for a new challenge at Dies R Us
and our theme is ANYTHING GOES!

It's December first and Christmas is just around the corner!
If you are gifting someone a gift card or money
I have the perfect gift card holder for you!
It's from Impression Obsession Santa Gift Card Holder
and Gift Card Holder Envelope die.

I made 15 of this particular Santa holder but am only showing one today!
These are really easy to do but you have to have the envelope die
to start and the Santa is an add on.

My Santa was entirely made of snippets (scraps) of paper
which made me happy using them up!

Art Impressions has a great video assembling them which I recommend watching as it does make a difference
of the order of each piece when putting together!

This is Santa with his hat shown open.

The hat when folded back has a pompom that fits into a slit
that fully closes the gift card as shown below:

This is how the gift card holder looks from the front when the hat is
tucked in at the back:

Isn't that just the cleverest idea?  I love it!
The links are given below!

Four Seasons Challenge Winter~December

Brrr, several places in the states are returning to our cold winter months
and that is our theme for the next three months at Four Seasons, WINTER
Cold temps, snow, ice and freezing rain are all a part of what we have to put up
with the next three months and if you are lucky enough to not have to face
these issues, then you ARE lucky!!

We have a winter mood board to get you inspired, but you don't have to use it
as long as your creation is WINTER themed!

I always feel so bad for the birdies that do stick around,
hiding in the bare bushes and looking for a meal.
So, I let the top left picture inspire me as I knew I had a new stamp
to use that reminded me of that picture.

I used a Woodware stamp Robin and Holly but was a bit disappointed
when I stamped it, as it was more of a solid stamp then one that could be colored.

It threw me for a loop that's for sure, I first embossed it in gold,
didn't like it, so then stamped it with Nuvo Acorn Brown
and added color where I could, and added glitter pens in red and green.

The background paper has somewhat of a vellum look
and I had intended to use the back of it, but taped down the wrong side
but I kind of like how it looks, so guess it was a 'good' mistake?
The sentiment is from Altenew.

I encourage you to head on over to the Four Seasons challenge blog
and see all the fabulous inspiration from the Design Team, join in with us,
we would LOVE to have you!
