Use Your Scraps Challenge

We have a fun challenge for you over at
Double D challenges
and it is
'Use Your Scraps'...
a super easy challenge since most of us have an
enormous amount of scraps.

We also have a scrappy mood board, just to inspire!

I did a pretty clean and simple design (for the most part).
I could of created dozens and dozens of scrap cards,
but in the end I went with just 4 pieces,
2 of card stock and 2 of patterned papers.

I used an old SU stamp to add some splatters
and a stamp from Technique Tuesday for the sentiment.
The flower was created with a Cherry Lynn die.

We would love to have you join our challenge using your scraps...so take a visit
to Double D and see all the inspiration from my teamies...you will NOT be disappointed!!

Doves In Love

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Hello Tutti Fans!!
It's June and it is getting to be wedding time
so today I have a die for you that would make
not only a beautiful wedding card, but a quick one as well.

I have used the Doves In Love die,
isn't it gorgeous?

The first card I simply embossed a background,
die cut the doves from a silver metallic paper,
added a pretty ribbon bow and a few silver flowers!
This would also make a great sliver anniversary card!

The second card also has an embossed background
and was die cut from a green metallic paper.
I added a pretty ribbon bow and it was done.
Both cards are 5" square.

Masculine Card

Design Team Member At

It's June first and that means a new challenge theme at
and it is 'It's Dad's Day' (masculine).

I went with a water theme built with just a few fun dies!
I had the little Impression Obsession lighthouse already
\colored and sitting on my desk as well as the
Tutti Designs Postage Die.

I used the Frantic Stamper Freeform Waves,
they are longer then shown, but for my card,
I snipped off the over hang on the card front.

I made the ahoy using Cheapo Dies Font Freedom
and added an anchor slightly between the A and H
also from the Impression Obsession Nautical set
die cut from a silver metallic paper.

Favorite Technique at The Sisterhood

Hello my friends,
it is time for another challenge at
and is being hosted by our 'sistah' Annie!
She has chosen the theme of show us your
Favorite Technique!

I don't know about you  but I love doing different techniques
and one of my all time favorites is
coloring on vellum.
I just love the softness and the watercolor look.

I used a pretty stamp from SNS (now out of business)
but designed by Fred She Said called Happy Flowers.
She does have the flowers on her site called Scribbled Flowers
either already colored or for you to color HERE if interested.

A little rule of coloring on vellum,
always, always remember to color on the backside
after embossing the front of your vellum
or you will ruin it.

I added a frame (poppystamps) to hold the vellum in place,
a few vellum butterflies,
and a sentiment stamped on a Cheery Lynn Designs label.

To see even more fun techniques you might want to try,

'sistahs' have to inspire you!

Lily Heart Panel

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Hello Tutti Designs friends!
Today I have three very different and very easy versions of the beautiful
Lily Heart panel.

The first card was done in entirely white, then inked the
lily of the valley flowers and heart panel.
I actually have pink lily of the valley in my own gardens.
I stamped a happy birthday on a Tutti Designs Stitched oval.

The second card was die cut in entirely white and placed on a pretty
pink card base, other then the sentiment,
I added a tiny glitter pink heart.

The last card has a totally different look by die cutting the panel
from a print paper and backing it with another contrast print.

I hope I have given you some ideas using this die
and wouldn't it make a beautiful wedding card?

Begins With 'M'

Hard to believe we are already in our third week of May
and nothing has changed much here in Michigan with
our 'stay at home' still in effect.
But I do have a card to share for the new theme challenge at
Double D!

The theme is
Begins With 'M'.
You can create with anything that starts with a M.

We have a mood board below to give you an idea
of a few M things!

I gave it a little thought and decided my new and yet to be used
Fairy Mouse stamp  by Pink Ink Designs
would be just perfect.
I have to admit, I did buy another mouse set to use for this challenge,
but couldn't resist this fairy mouse!

There are quite a few stamps in this set
and one of them is an extra pair of wings to stamp separately.
I stamped them on Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder
then fussy cut them out and placed over her stamped wings on the image.
I just barely attached them at her shoulder so they are a bit 3D.

She was a fun stamp to work with and I am sure she will show up here again!

If you would like to see more fun and amazing creations using M as the prompt
then head o over to Double D and join in with us...
there is always a cool prize up for grabs!!

Trombone Fun

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Hello Tutti Design friends!
Today I am featuring the fun Trombone die in two
completely different styles.

First up is a more girly card with a pink embossed background.
The trombone was cut from black card and I just added
twine a music 'button' from my stash.

The second card I made a bit 'vintage' with the old inked up paper,
a gold metallic die cut trombone and a few matching gold candi's.
I stamped the vintage on a Tutti Designs Stitched Rectangle.
Tutti Designs has lots of fun music dies, make sure to check them out!!

Sketch Challenge at MFT

It was/is a very rainy day today, 100%, I guess that says it all!
A good day to be in the craft room!

I subscribe to My Favorite Things and am pretty much a 'stalker' there.
When I saw this sketch pop up I figured I might give it a shot.

For my card I used the Purrfect Friends Stamp
and Purrfect Friends die-namics
that I bought early last year I think and this is the first time I have used it...shame!!

It's the cutest set and being an animal lover it was right up my alley!!
I also used the My Favorite Things Petite Plaid paper.

Just the card I needed to make on this gloomy day!!

Celebrate

Design Team Member At

It's time for a new challenge theme at Dies R Us
and it is Graduation and/or Congratulations.

There are no graduations taking place as I write this
but nothing says you can't still send out a card
to a deserving graduate to lift their spirits
until the day actually does come!!

I did a very simple card in one of our school colors here at Niles
blue and gold.

I used the Cheapo dies Grad Cap and the Tutti Designs word set 'Celebrate'.

The stamped words are from a set in my stash.

I also die cut another set in some fun colors
that can be used for any school!

Links are given below, I also added a general link
as since we work way ahead some dies
may be out of stock at the time of the
posting...thank you!

Birds~Bees~Butterflies

Our hostess this week at
and she has chosen the theme of
'Birds~Bees~Butterflies'.
You can pick one or use them all!!

Well, I have to say I picked a very different 'B' for my card.
I couldn't resist this little Cottage Cutz stamp when they had one of
their sales as it was only $2.38 at that time...and have to admit I bought several!
She was pretty easy (for me) to color as not too involved.

Everything I used came from my 'organized by color' scrap bags.
The wire background piece is a scrap of digital paper I had printed
when I worked for Crafty Secrets.
All the other pieces, including the card base were already on hand...
feels so good to use some of that up.

I know you can't see it, but I added a stardust pen to her's and the bee's wings.

Pop on over to The Siterhood and see what all my 'sistah's have created
to inspire YOU to join us...can't wait to see what you create!!

Flower Cart Hello

This is my post today on the Tutti Designs blog:

It's bright and cheerful here on the Tutti Designs blog today
with this colorful  Flower Cart!
This is such a pretty die and so easy to work with!

I embossed a background then die cut the cart from
pink card stock, polka dot paper, lavender card stock
and a silver metallic for the wheel
Once that was done, I trimmed each piece
then paper pieced it all together...easy peasy!!

The main piece to start with was the pink card stock, then I just
paper pieced on that with the rest.
The little butterflies are what came from the main piece...cute!!
I adhered the entire cart to a Tutti Designs Stitched Circle!

Happy Days

I have been spending the last several and I mean several weeks
cleaning out my craft room,
I took everything off shelves, dusted, scrubbed
and went thru several bags of things I had die cut
but didn't use for some reason or another.

While doing that I came across a few pieces
that I thought would work for a sketch I saw at

I have to admit that when I do a sketch
I just stick to it as I see it, but for some reason
I thought I could use these pieces for it.

I did cut the big clouds but everything else was in the scrap bags.
That's it for me today, just a bit of fun!!

Lavenders~Lilac~Purple

Already into May and since I am writing this early
I have no idea where we are at the moment with the pandemic...
just hoping we will be back on track soon!

Today would of also been my Mom's 93rd birthday.
I miss her terribly and so wish I could talk to her again.
Happy Birthday in heaven Mom!!

Being the first Wednesday in May also means we have
a new challenge theme starting at
Double D and it is:

Lavenders~Lilac~Purple
any other colors INCLUDED on the mood board
with 'purples' the main focus

We have the beautiful mood board below to inspire you.

I have plenty of lavender stamps and dies
I could of used, but when I saw a great sale
at PowerPoppy and this stamp set came into view,
I new it was going right into my shopping cart.
It's a beautiful set with many stamp options and sentiments.

This was a super easy stamp to color.
I used Copics for the image and inked a
background panel to put underneath.

I liked the bit of gingham in the bottom left
photo of the mood board so added a scrap
to my card.

Motorcycle Fun

This is my post today on the Tutti Designs blog.

Hello Tutti friends, Diane with you today featuring a fun
die perfect for that man in your life or someone you know retiring!

The motorcycle was cut from a gold metallic
then I simply layered designer papers underneath,
using my crimper to create a bit of texture.
The sentiment is computer generated.

For the next card I used some fun papers to feature the bike from my
stash of fun designs.  The silver metallic panel was embossed.
The motorcycle was die cut from a bright blue metallic and placed on a
Tutti Designs Stitched rectangle!

Now to change it up a bit, this die could just as easily
be die cut from PINK and have a pretty girly card!!

Ocean Shadowbox

Design Team Member At

It's that time again for our
Dies R Us challenge and the theme is
Seas The Day...(water themed).

I decided to get my Lawn Fawn Shadow Box set
out once again as I had ordered a new Ocean set to
go with it.  Did you know there are four seasons
plus a few others making this set so versatile?

As mentioned, I am using the Ocean Add On's set today,
it is so cute with the waves and the big whale that comes with the set.
It kind of looks like he is eating those shells,
but he isn't, the entire thing is 3D and it was a bit hard to showcase that
but in person I can assure you those shells are not being eaten lol!

I inked the inside panels using Distress Inks Broken China,
Salty Ocean and Faded jeans.
The reef grasses are also part of the set,
but the fish~anchor~seahorse are from
Impression Obsession Mini Nautical set
and the shells are from Impression Obsession Mini Shell Set.

The sentiment wavy banner is another part of the set and I used a
sentiment from Lawn Fawns Wavy Sentiments set...
kind of perfect for this ocean scene!

Below are all the links to what I have used to create this
cute little scene...oh...
and it closes up FLAT for mailing too!!
