Asian Lotus Flower

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today:

Hello Tutti friends I hope your Christmas Holiday was fabulous

and you are now gearing up for a near year
and let's hope it brings us a far better year then the world has seen in 2020!

This is the last card I designed for both Tutti Designs and the
UK Hochanda TC show that aired on October 27th.

I once again combined different Tutti dies to create this card,
four in fact.
I used the Asian Lotus Flower as my focal point and
Cross Stitch Nesting Postage,  Cross Stitch Nesting Square
along with the Hello Word set.

After die cutting the Cross Stitch Nesting square I used
a couple different inks on it and the Asian Lotus Flower as well.
All were layered on a fun designer paper then onto the card base.
For fun Nuvo drops were used in the flower center and I added a few black sequins!

Asian Landscape

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today:

Hello there and Merry Early Christmas!

Hard to believe it is only 3 days away!

I bet you were expecting to see a Christmas card weren't you?
Well I have fooled you lol as this card is far from that!

I created this card for both Tutti Designs and the UK TV channel Hochanda
that aired the Tutti Design Team cards on October 27th...pretty neat right?

This die is Asian Landscape.  Look at all the pretty detail.
Not a lot to say about the card as it is pretty straight forward.
I did emboss a red background,
die cut a Tutti Designs Cross Stitch Nesting Circle from black
and the Asian Landscape die from red
then layered one on the other.

The sentiment was stamped then layered on black card stock.

Banners and Bows

My friend Dar from Dar's Crafty Creations pointed out this challenge
to me at Color Hues and said I should do it, so I did.

I sat down and mass produced these cards in various colors
and these are the blue/green cards!
I did 10 cards in all in various colors, but forgot to photograph
the one I did in purples, I was so excited to send it out I forgot !

I absolutely LOVE this set of stamps~dies~stencils
from The Greetery Banners and Bows set
I sure hope they come out with more sets like these for year round!

There is no coloring involved, everything is done with inks, stamps and stencils,
you can see along the side I was a little carried away with my inking.

Thanks for visiting me!!

Pretty Poinsettias

A new challenge starting today at
Double D and I bet you can guess what the theme is?
Yep, it is POINSETTIA'S!

Look at the pretty mood board to inspire you!
What's it going to be, purple, white, pink or the traditional red?
Plenty of other colors to pick from too!

I have to admit I had a debate with myself to either go with
red or pink.
In the end pink won out!

I used a Memory Box die ( Poinsettia Collage) that came out in 2016.
I finally put it to use, first time.
I got a little creative with it and ended up using a light weight
white card stock to cut two 4" by 5 1/4"  panels at the same time.
I wasn't sure if it would work but with my metal shim
it cut perfectly.

The idea was to use one as a stencil then I could place the other on top
to fit perfectly, and it did!
I used Altenew inks to stencil the colors.

I got my sentiment slightly crooked (ugh) even when lining it up
on my TH platform, it's these OLD eyes of mine
once again playing tricks on me!

I would definitely do this again, maybe in red this time!

Be sure to take a peek at Double D to see what the design team
has to inspire, so many beautiful Poinsettias all in one place!

Winter Wonderland

Design Team Member At

It's the last challenge of the year for Dies R Us
and our theme is Winter Wonderland.

Living in Michigan whenever I hear the words winter wonderland
my mind immediately goes to SNOW.

That is the card I have today, a VERY snowy one!

I die cut the Impression Obsession Snowflake Background
from a metallic white card stock.

The sentiment if Sue Wilson Designs Mini Expressions Let It Snow,
cut from a silver metallic and backed with a black shadow.

Here are the links for the dies I have used.

Because we normally work way ahead,
some of the dies may possibly be 'out of stock'.
If you search for an item, like
snow' for instance, you will be amazed at all that comes up..have fun!

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today

Hi Tutti Fans do you all have your Christmas preparations done?
If like me I highly doubt it lol!

Well take a break and look at this pretty die I am
showing today.
This card was created for both Tutti Designs and the
UK Hochanda TV show that aired in the UK on Oct 27th.

This card was simply made
just by die cutting the beautiful
Garden Background die
then using a rainbow foil a toner sheet and a laminator.

Gosh, I wish you could see this IRL as it is gorgeous!

A sentiment strip was added across the top.
What a pretty die this is!
As you can see, it is a full card size.

Charge!

Just for fun I decided to actually play along with a challenge.
The one I chose is:

Tuesday Morning sketches

I had a fun stamp gifted to me by my daughter years ago
and though this isn't the first time I have used it
it has been a very long time it has seen ink so I decided to pull it out!
It makes me laugh every time I look at it
Do you think she was trying to tell me something LOL?

I used papers from a very old paper pad of Martha Stewarts
Frosty Elegance paper pad (2013).
The stamp is from American Art...old!!

I hope you are all staying safe and being creative
as what else can we do right?
On another note I have a dear friend that just lost both her parents
within the last three weeks from the corona virus, so sad
and I can't even hug her!!
It just breaks my heart!

I just noticed I forgot one element from the sketch...
whoops, I am never very good at sketches,
my mind is just one track when it comes to them!!

Love~Joy~Peace

Hello All!
Time for a new challenge theme at
The Sisterhood of Crafters today and I am the hostess
and have chosen the theme of
Anything Christmas/ Winter...pretty easy!

My birthday was back in October and I treated myself
to a nice order at The Greetery.
The new release there I felt was perfect timing and honestly
sat on pins and needles waiting to ordering this set
when it went live for sale!

It is the Banner & Bough set.
This set is full of fun and no coloring involved
Just stamps, stencils and matching dies allowing you
to stamp, layer and die cut to your hearts content!

For my card I chose to just do the stamping and stenciling.
I plan to make this my 'go to' Christmas card
as this is very easy to mass produce and if I don't get too fancy,
an easy mailer too!

The stamp set comes with lots and I mean lots of stamps to
create with including three sentiments.

I used all TH Distress inks for my colors
but any inks would work.  See the darker green color,
it is the new TH Distress ink color Rustic wilderness.

The set also comes with a mask (perfect for 2020 lol)
so you can cover up your stamping and ink
around your image!

So why not pop on over to The Sisterhood and take a peek at all the
fabulous designs my 'sistahs' have to inspire you with??

Frilly Flower Frame

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today:

Hello Tutti Fans!

Is it snowing and blowing in your neck of the woods yet?
If so then I have something pretty to take your min off of that!

Here is a floral card that was created for both
Tutti Designs and for the UK Hochanda TV show
that aired on Oct 27th.

I used three different dies to create this card.
The Frilly Flower Frame, Oriental Screen, and the Cross Stitch Nesting Tag.

As shown, one was place atop the other.
I wanted a pop of color so I added a tiny bit of lime green ribbon
and of course couldn't stop there so added a few polka dot  'candi's'.

All products links I have used are below.

Christmas Tag

This is my second entry for the challenge at Mod Squad
which is embossing with white onto a color!

I created a simple tag using two stamps from Stampin Up
Season of Joy set from 2007!
This is the first time this set has seen ink
in fact I hadn't even mounted them on their blocks,
have had them 13 years, that should be a crime shouldn't it LOL!

I first embossed the larger stamp then came back with
the tiny poinsettia and embossed it three times across the bottom.

Makes for a quick tag!

You can see my first entry HERE!

Merry Christmas

Today I actually have a card I created just for a challenge
and it was so fun!  I saw at Mod Squad they had a
White & Bright challenge
where you use only white embossing powder on a colored card stock!
Easy peasy, right?

I created 2 different things for this challenge and this is the first one!

I used an older stamp from Stampin Up and a detail
white embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle.
I almost forgot to use my anti-static buddy before I embossed
as it has been awhile since I have used embossing powder it seems.

I have a funny story to tell about the anti-static embossing buddy
if you promise not to laugh!
When I first started card making and embossing I purchased my
anti-static buddy (that is what SU calls it) when I used it
it left all this white powder all over my card stock
so I told my sister it leaked and tossed it out
then she told me that is what it is supposed to do...hahaha...
I had to purchase another one (I now have 3)!
Crazy isn't it?

There is a place on this card I can put a greeting
but left it blank for now
but will definitely use EB powder for that.

I haven't used this stamps in years and thought it would be perfect for this challenge!

I will have my other embossed creation up tomorrow!

Santa Hats Challenge

Hats off to Christmas!
It's another challenge at Double D
and it is TADA...you guessed it
SANTA HATS!!

How fun is this mood board...I love it...
so festive and yummy!!

OMGoodness, I had so many Santa hat things I could of used
that it was mind boggling!!

But loving kitty cats, I decided to pull put my NBUS
Cottage Cutz die.
He was fun but it took me a while to
get the placement of the hat correctly and of course
my eye sight getting worse, his inner ear is a bit screwy...
hey it gives him his own purr-sonality right?

I also used a NBUS ho ho ho from Obsession Impression....
I layered a 'shadow' underneath!

The tree I did the same, it is from Cheapo Dies.
And that pretty star....
well it was seen on a blog a few years ago and I loved
the lacy look of it so after a bit of 'research
I finally found it...it's a Marianne Design die.

Head on over to Double D and get inspired by the ALWAYS amazing
creations by the Design Teams!!

Happy Birthday Magical Toadstools

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today:

Hi there, Diane with you today with a fun
Magical Toadstools card!

This card was created for both Tutti Designs and for the
UK Hochanda  TV show that aired on Oct 27th.

I used a plain white card base then die cut two
Cross Stitch Postage dies.
One from red gingham and a white from a smaller one from the set.

Once I die cut the toadstools, I used Copics to color them in
then used versamark and a red embossing powder for the toadstool caps.

A little hint when embossing, if you color them first with the
color embossing powder
then no white will show underneath.

To finish I stamped a sentiment of Happy Birthday

Magical Toadstools

Cross Stitch Nesting Postage

Floribunda Collage

December first already!
Which brings us to a new challenge theme at Dies R Us
and it is Christmas!

I have so many fabulous cool dies  from the
Dies R Us store but I had just purchased this pretty die
and couldn't wait to use it.

The die is Poppystamps Floribunda Collage
and guess what? It isn't even a Christmas die at all,
making it so very useful year round!

I have to admit when I first saw it I thought it was a Poinsettia die
but it's not, but I surely turned it into one!

I have become very fond of the 'collage' dies
and find them very useful!

For this card I die cut on a double layer of white card stock
so I could use one as a stencil which would them allow me
to place the other die cut on top of the stenciled area for a perfect fit!
For my stenciling colors I used all that are listed below.
For a heads up, ALL the Memento Dew Drop inks are now at
a close out price, so get them before they are gone!

Nuvo Gloss Apple Green was added to the center of each flower
and I stamped a sentiment from my stash!

Kitchen Dress Card

We have a new challenge theme at The Sisterhood of Crafters
chosen and hosted by our lovely 'sistah' Jennifer.

She has chosen the fun theme of any shape but a rectangle.

I had a card all ready to use when I came across a sale on this
fun and fabulous die
Kitchen Dress A2 Card Maker by Frantic Stamper.
It's one that I have been wanting for quite some time now
and thought it was the perfect time to use it.

I first die cut an inside front and back attached just by letting
the top of the dress hang over the folded card stock.
I used a much lighter weight card stock then normal for that
so it would cut through both sections, it did nicely with a shim.

Then I die cut both front and back and the apron as well
from my 'hoarded' stock of Mintay Farm Life 6 x 6 papers.
The pocket looks a bit crooked but I assure you it's not,
it's just that I have the card leaning up to photograph
as it was being naughty and wouldn't stand up.

I am going to use this card for my sister's birthday as I know
she will appreciate it.

So why not make a shaped card of your own and join in with us....
the 'sistahs' at The Sisterhood have some amazing inspiration for you!!

Slimline Tulip Corner

This is my card on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Today I have another card I created for both
Tutti Designs and the UK Hochanda TV show.
This show was aired live on Oct 27th.

I created another slimline card
which seems to be a bit addictive to me right now!

For this slimline card I used the Tulip Corner die.
This die has so many ways to be used to create
all different kinds of cards, it's a favorite of mine.

I die cut two from a multi color glitter paper,
though it is hard to see the sparkle on it,
trust me, it is very much full of sparkle goodness.

I embossed the background and add a sentiment
but the die did most of the 'work' itself!
Just by turning the die around gives you an entirely different look.

Winter Blues

Hello all!
This is my first card I have created in the last
FIVE weeks do to being sick with a virus for that long.
I want to apologize I haven't been to visit and comment during
that time but not much I could do about it
but I have seen your beautiful work while looking at my Kindle Fire
while bedridden.
That being said, I hope to get back to the 'norm' and visit you all soon...
don't give up on me lol!

It is time again for a new Double D challenge and the theme is
'Winter Blues'.

Not having much mojo after five weeks I made a pretty simple card!
I have had this die in my stash for awhile and decided now
might be a good time to put it to use since my creativeness
seems to have left me for a bit!

I used a snowfall embossing folder for the background .
The die is from Cottage Cutz Birdhouse With Vine.
The sentiment is SEI Winter Song stamp set..
