Sentiment Challenge

Hello friends, today is the start of a new
OPTIONAL challenge theme at
Can You Handle The Pressure
where we are all about using an embossing folder.
Wet embossing is okay but an embossing folder MUST be used!
Optional theme is to use a sentiment.

I guess I took that theme to heart as my birthday EB folder
from Sizzix has LOTS of happy birthday/party sentiments all over it!
Once it was embossed I inked it with
Distress Salvaged Patina, making the sentiments really stand out.
I added two scraps of card stock down the sides
and a couple pieces from my 'spare parts' bins.

It's really prettier IRL, aren't they all?
Come on over to Can You Handle The Pressure, get those EB folders out
and join in our fun with us, plus there is a fun prize up for grabs to
one lucky random player!

Happy Halloween

Hello crafty friends,  I had some fun joining in with
Woodblock Wednesday where using a woodblock stamp
is required.  I think a lot of card makers got rid of their woodblock
stamps but there still are lots of us that keep everything, like me!!

I had a 'brainstorm' for this month by using six of my smaller
Halloween woodblock stamps on a Waffle Farm postage die.
These are really oldies but fun just the same!
I first used a WF stencil to color in my postage die cut
using Distress Inks Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey.
I liked how the wild honey toned down the yellow ink
and gave it a more fall feel.

The stamps used were Inkadinkadoo (hat), Stampabilities (bat),
Stampendous (spider), Hero Arts (cat w/pumpkin), Penny Black (witch),
and unknown (?) for the sentiment.

So, get out those neglected woodblock stamps and come on
over to Amy's blog for some challenge fun!!

Hello Challenge

Hello friends, it is a new challenge theme at
The Sisterhood of Crafters and the theme is
HELLO.
We want to see all your beautiful hellos!!

Since I am a  hoarder of beautiful papers it seems,
I decided this would be the perfect challenge to pull some out!
The paper is from a most gorgeous pack of 6x6
Paper Rose Purple Haze.  Each and every sheet in this pack is
downright gorgeous.  I pulled out a few already cut die cuts
from Tutti designs and a sentiment from
Stampendous True Friend.
A few gems were added to the butterflies.

It's a simple card but a great way to show off that pretty paper.
Come on over to The Sisterhood of Crafters and see all the beautiful
creations from my 'sistahs'

Fall Leaves

Hello friends, our Double D challenge is all about Fall Leaves
with the colorful inspiration board below!

I used an Impression Obession Maple Leaf and die
cut in several different colors
from several scrap pieces of card stock,
the very last leaf is actually a darker gold color and does have the leaf veins in it,
it's just my darn camera and editing program that doesn't pick up the true picture!
The sentiment was cut three times and stacked.

Come on over to Double D and check out al the pretty
inspiration from the teams and have some fall leaf fun with us!!

Two Old Bats Reminder September 2024

Halloween has passed us by but NOT at
Two Old Bats where we celebrate with a year round Halloween
challenge giving you an entire year to play with your fun spooky goodies!
We have have a fun creepy, spooky inspiration/mood board
but you can create anything Halloween themed you want!

I used some fun Halloween papers for my card from my scrap bag
along with a spider embossed with SNS Midnight EB/glitter powder.
He is an OLD stamp from Paper Studio (2016).
I saw a similar sketch layout to this one on Pinterest and changed it a
bit to make it my own.  I really loved how it showcased all the pretty papers!

Come on over and have some year round fun with us at Two Old Bats!!

Beautiful Blossoms September Challenge

Hello friends it's once again that time for a new challenge at
Beautiful Blossoms and we have a mood board for inspiration
but you can create any color as long as blooms are your focal point!

I tried to stay within the fall colors of the board for this one
and chose an old designer paper of black and gray from my 12x12 stash.
Using a Pink Fresh Studios Seamless Floral Panel I stenciled my
card with mostly Altenew inks.  It's kind of embarrassing of  how many
Pink Fresh Studio stencils, stamps and I dies I have,
oh well, they will all get used all in good time (if I live long enough..hah)!!
I also die cut a The Greetery Big Beautiful Bow die.  When you cut these you cut
in two colors which gives you two different contrasting bows in the end,
I've been getting quite a little collection of them for later use.

We hope to see YOU over at Beautiful Blossoms with your floral creation,
plenty of beautiful inspiration there too!!

Peace On Earth Challenge #72

Time for a new challenge and a new mood/inspiration board
at Peace On Earth

It's pretty colorful so plenty of inspiring colors here
but you can create anything as long as it is Christmas themed!

As always, design team members normally go with our inspiration boards
and I was no exception as I pulled out my Dew Drop inks and an old (2015)
Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamp set. These stamps are on a dowel like piece
so you can stamp however you want, I used two of the three stamps included.
Trying to keep within the colors of the rainbow, the fun colors I used were
Dandelion~Bahama Blue~Tangelo~Love Letter,
stamping in the shape of a wreath!!

Check out all the 'pretties' from the design team at
Peace On Earth!!

Fall Colors

Hello friends, we have a new challenge starting today at
Can You Handle The Pressure
where our challenge is all about embossing folders.
You MUST use an embossing folder to enter, wet embossing is okay too
as long as an embossing folder is also used.
Our OPTIONAL theme is Fall Colors
but any embossed project will do!

I inked up a paper with Distress Oxides
fossilized amber~carved pumpkin~dried marigold then embossed
with a Spellbinders Falling Leaves folder.
The die cut acorns are Tutti Designs and the sentiment from The Ton.
I added some half gold pearls due to my stupidity of putting my acorns
on the my card front on the wrong end, so they aren't placed where I
had wanted them and of course when I pulled them off it took off
a bit of the paper with it, so the gold half pearls are to cover up,
geesh, as long as I have been card making you would think I would know better!!

Come on over to Can You Handle The Pressure and have some fun
with us, plus we have a fun prize up for grabs too!!

Honor Our Troops

Hello friends, today is a day of remembrance in the US,
a day not one American will ever forget the tragedy that hit
our country on 9/11 where so many lives were lost for no other reason then hate!

To honor those our that were lost and those that protect us,
our challenge this next two weeks is
'Honor Our Troops'
at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

For my honor, I created a Thank You card
thanking all our military for keeping our country safe
and our freedom intact!

I wasn't sure where I was going with this when I first started,
but I had purchased this fabulous Deep Red Soaring Eagle With Angels
stamp purposely for this challenge, plus the fact I really liked it!

I stamped it directly with a navy ink on a great paper from
Scrapbook Customs 4th of July Paper Pack.
The sentiment was die cut 3 times and stacked using a
heartfelt thanks die using paper form the same paper pack.
Three red~white~blue candi's were added.

We would love to have you join us at
The Sisterhood of Crafters to honor YOUR troops!

Fall Papers

Hello friends, for the month of September at our
Love Those Pretty Papers challenge our
OPTIONAL Theme is Fall Papers
but you can create anything as long as your
pretty designer papers are you focus!

For my themed card, I used all metallic papers which are extremely HARD to
photograph and get a true picture!  It is what it is as they say!
The background paper is a gold striped metallic and the other papers are from an
older paper pack DCWV (2015) The Harvest House pad.  This pack is almost gone
so it went in my 'stack' of papers to use up!
All the papers were cut with a Tutti Designs rectangle die, the center
sentiment piece is part of the paper pack and stamped with a
Fairy Hugs sentiment I purchased when Simon had one of their 99cent sales.

For my anything goes card, I used a newer paper pack
from my ever growing hoard of pretty papers
Artsy Blooms by Little Birdie, it has 24 sheets, 12 designs of
gorgeous floral pages.  I saw this easy~easy design on
Pinterest and it fits an A2 card front.  You cut a piece of
design paper 3"x4" then on you cutter you put each
point in the track and slice into the tri-angles as shown.
you do the same with a matching card stock but cut that
piece  3 1/4" x 4 1/2"  for the matting underneath.
The sentiment is another of the SSS 99cent sale items
and is a Hero Arts stamp!

Come on over to Love Those Pretty Papers and
have some fun with us at our NEWEST challenge!

Signs of Fall

Hello friends, oh wow, can you believe we are into September already,
geesh, just where does time go!!

At Simply Clean & Simple we have an optional theme of
Signs of Fall
but you can create anything as long as it is clean and simple!

I made this card and then let it sit for about a week to decide if
I wanted to use it for this challenge.
I guess it kind of grew on me as here it is,
but am still debating if I want to remake another.
Do you ever do that, second guess yourself?

Anywho, it is a layered Hero Arts stamp I acquired when they had
their 99 cent sale, reg $15.99 so this little chipper was a real bargain
and I'm sure I only bought it because of it's low price, I mean who can resist a 99 cent stamp??
I did a bit of leaf stenciling and added a woodgrain frame,
the sentiment and the acorn are part of the set.

Come on over and have some
Simply Clean and Simple fun with us!!

Word Power #9

Hello friends, it's that time again for our monthly challenge
at Word Power where we want to see your sentiments
be the focal point of your card!

I used a scrap piece of kraft paper and stamped my
sentiment with Versamark and embossed
(wait for it) with COFFEE embossing powder.
It is from SNS and I remember when they came out with this
color and I first used it and loved it, PLUS, it embosses
beautifully!!  A perfect EB powder for my fun Riley & Company
Funny Bones sentiment!

The coffee cup is part of one of the TH Colorize die sets.
I used lots of Colorize but this one was a doozy!!
Needless to say, I only used parts of the die for my cup,
someday when I have more time I'll sit down and
see if I can figure it all out!  The cup was cut from
paper scraps as well.

I hope you have enjoyed my fun card and will join us
at Word Power with your own creation!!

Sunflowers

Hello friends, can you believe we are headed into fall already?
We are, and not only outside but at Double D too.
Our theme is, if you haven't guessed it by now with the mood board below is
SUNFLOWERS!!

I think sunflowers are such an intriguing  flower and love that we have
fields of them around here, sometimes I even grow a few myself!
I  have been hooked on the postage dies from Waffle Flower and when I saw
The Ton had one of their own and a sunflower stencil to go with, I
just knew I had to have it!
I had so much fun stenciling this that I did a few more in
different colors, after all sunflowers come in all sorts of
pretty fall colors.
When I stenciled the first 3 stencils I thought I had gotten
yellow ink splatters somehow on my paper
but after finishing I realized they were just part of the bees!
I used all Altenew inks for my stenciling.

Make sure to visit over at Double D and see all the stunning
inspiration from our teams, they never disappoint!!

Triple B September 2024

It's a new challenge at Triple B where we are all about
birds~blooms~butterflies
you can use one, two or all three and we have a pretty mood board just to inspire!

I have always had a fondness for buttercups that grow wild in our woods and
for some reason when I saw all this yellow on the inspiration board
it made me reach for my Lisa Horton Buttercup Bloom embossing folder and
matching stencil.   Because it is a quite large EB folder, my card is quite large too,
it was just darn perfect to cut any of it off to make it smaller.
I stenciled it first then 'fit' it into my EB folder for the pretty 3D effect.
All inks used were Altenew's Golden Sunset pack which includes
Sunray~Chamomile~Snapdragon~Marigold inks and a few of Altenew's green inks.
The sentiment is from The Ton Easy Expressions!

Here is a close up of the detail in the pretty embossing!

So, get out your birds, blooms, and/or butterflies and come on over to
Triple B and have some fun with us!

Stencil Fun September 2024

Hello friends, it is the start of a new challenge at
Stencil Fun and our OPTIONAL theme is
FALL FRENZY~anything to do with fall, anything stenciled goes!

We have a fun prize to one lucky US player
with a random draw!

Prize

I used a newer favorite stencil of mine purchased back in February from The Ton.
It uses their Sunflower stencil and Postage Party die.  It sure was fun to
stencil these pretty sunflowers on an A2 card using the postage die.
I used all Altenew inks to stencil.

For my anything goes card I pulled out an Altenew Polka Dot Buds
stencil, also stenciled in fall colors once again using Altenew inks.
This was a 6x6 2 layered stencil that I cut down to fit an A2 card front.
The Fancy HELLO sentiment was die cut three times and stacked for a bit of
dimension and also is from Altenew.

Come on over to Stencil Fun and show us all
your pretty stenciling, we would love to have you!!

Two Old Bats September 2024

Hi All, it's time for our year round Halloween challenge at
Two Old Bats
and we have a fun inspiration board for you to
let it inspire you or not.  You can create anything as long
as it is Halloween themed!

I was inspired by the fun stack of pumpkin faces and pulled out a
paper pad I love from Brutus Monroe Spooktacular Fun.
I stamped my fun, happy ghost and sentiment from Art Impressions
Fright Night set.  I added a few Nuvo orange dots for fun.

I just love this happy go lucky ghost!
Won't you join us at Two Old Bats??

Colorful Options September 2024

This month at Colorful Options we were challenged to use
BOLD, VIBRANT  colors.
You could also use a neutral color with a bold color.
Below is a fabulous example of inspiration.

I was totally inspired by the upper right picture of the cat
knowing I had a never been used Stamplistic Sweet Poodle stamp
that seemed just perfect for this challenge.
I purchased this stamp as it reminded me of my goldendoodle that is half
golden retriever and half standard poodle and other then the colors
looks very much like this stamp.  I don't see a poodle resemblance at all
but I certainly see a doodle one!
I just kind of haphazardly colored the image in with a mix of Olo's and Copic's.
I made a few mistakes in placing some of the color and there was
really no rhyme or reason how I did it, I guess I would call it
'messy art' LOL!!
The sentiment is The Ton Easy Expressions.

This is the stamp I have used.

Come on over to Colorful Options and have some bold and vibrant fun with us!!

Four Seasons September Fall 2024

Hello friends, it is our first  FALL season this year at
The Four Seasons and we have a pretty
fun and cozy mood board for you,
but it's just for inspiration and you can create anything
FALL you want!

I created a collage of sorts mixing a few bits of ephemera from Photo Play
along with an embossed die cut hat from Simon Says Stamps Sweater Weather.
The backdrop panel is from PoppyStamps

Come on over to Four Seasons and have a bit of FALL fun with us!!

Peace On Earth Challenge #71

A new challenge today at Peace On Earth
where we are an anything goes Christmas challenge
and an always fun inspiration board!!

The elegantly dressed nutcracker on the bottom right corner inspired me to use my
beautiful P13 Christmas Charm paper.  This paper is also a favorite of mine
and made in Poland as the Mintay is, these are gorgeous papers!
I have quite a large collection of these papers
so it feels good to get them out!

Not much to add to this card, the paper itself does most of the work
but I added a JustRite (old) sentiment stamped in Dew Drop London Fog ink
and a few silver half pearls.

Hope to see you over at Peace On Earth and plenty
of beautiful inspiration there from the design team!!
