Jolly Ranchers

Today I am joining in the challenge at
with their theme being 'Snowmen'.
I thought is was a pretty good challenge as it requires
some stamping and I certainly have lots of those
that have never seen ink!
This stamp is an oldie 2005  from Stampabilities
called 'Jolly Ranchers'...aren't they cute?
I think they are doing the
'boot scootin' boogie' in the snow!

Besides the older stamp, I used some very old SU Dazzling Details
for falling snow and on the fence,
which I believe is an IO die.
the sentiment is from Hero Arts.
The papers are oldies form my scrap bag.
I also tied a little 'rope' on the fence.

Thank you for visiting with me today!

PS:  I was making this card while waiting for the
'Polar Vortex" to arrive today....to be -48 with the
wind chill...these little snow guys might like it
but I sure don't!!

Also wanted to enter the challenge at
Pixie's Crafty Workshop
to honor Di for keeping this challenge going
for 7 years....wow...what an accomplishment
when so many challenges have been closing,
plus that it is a FUN challenge
allowing you to use your 'snippets' (scraps)...
thank you Di for all you do!!

Happy Birthday Circle

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Hello, Diane with you today using the
Tutti Designs Happy Birthday Circle die.
This is a great die especially if you need a quick birthday card
as it is gorgeous enough on it's own or just by adding a few details
like I did!

The first card I embossed a background panel,
then die cut from a pretty gold floral metallic paper,
and added a few gold purchased flowers.

The second card was just as easy,
this time adding a designer paper, a few glitter 'dots'
and coloring in only the leaves.

The last card has a bit more details on it
but still a super easy card.
The die was cut from a glitter and metallic paper
then added to a designer background paper,
a gingham bow, flower and a bit of rick rack trim to finish!!

Valentine Hedgie

I made a fun card for the Animal Friends Challenge
that the theme is 'Hedgehog' for the month of January.
I was a little surprised at myself of how many
hedgehog stamps/dies I had to choose from....
guess I think the little critters are CUTE!!

For my card I used a $1.50 stamp from Michael's I bought last year...
first time it has seen ink.

I stamped her first on a white card stock panel,
then made a mask to cover here
and stamped the hearts over her...
I like the way she is surrounded by all those hearts.
The hearts stamp is from Michael's too...
one of their Recollections stamps.
Her bow was 'hit' with a glitter pen,
turning the card on an angle really shows the sparkle.

That's it for me today...you have a great one!!

Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend

Today at
The Sisterhood of Crafters
I am the hostess and I chose a theme of
'Diamonds'.
Pretty easy is all you have to do is use any kind of
diamond shape in your creation!

A funny thing happened 'on the way' to creating my card...
I did NOTHING at all that I had intended lol!

I first sat down and went through lots and lots of paper pads
to find some with a diamond pattern on them,
pulled them out and then never used a one lol!

Here is my card without any 'diamond' designer paper.

After rejecting all the designer paper, I pulled out my 'diamond' embossing folders,
I had six that all had some kind of diamond pattern on  them.
The one I chose is an older Cuttlebug one that I have had since forever!

I just loved the pretty pattern of it and thought it would go good with my new
Sue Wilson 'Peony Diamond' die.
Isn't this a pretty die?
One of the things I love about her dies is that you have several options of
just by different layering them you can get lots of different ways to use them.

The other die is a Cottage Cutz Bird Trio,
no trio here though, as I cut it apart to fit lol!

I added a cute birdhouse die cut from Impression Obsession.
For the sentiment I had intended to use a die cut word 'hello'
but after cutting it realized I had cut 'hugs' instead...whoops..lol...
I think hugs works just as well!!

So make sure to head on over to
The Sisterhood
and see what my 'sistahs' have created!!

With Sympathy

Back To Basics and Beyond has a fun challenge for you
and it is the
Salt Technique
you can find out how to do it HERE on YouTube.

I don't make many sympathy cards and decided I needed
a few in my card stash.
I started with a navy blue textured card stock
though you can't see it in the photo...
it is there!

For the background salt technique I used both table salt and a bit of kosher salt.
The watercolors used are just a cheap set I had on hand....
I did do a second base using my Peerless water colors
and it was much more vibrant,
so I decided to use the softer of the two for a sympathy card.
The die is from Cheapo Dies Cattails,
the Heron bird is from Impression Obsession Shore Birds
and the sentiment is SU Warmest Regards.

You can see ALL the beautiful DT salt technique cards by visiting the
Back to Basics and Beyond Challenge blog...thanks for visiting!

Twofer Toucans

I really wanted to enter Darnell's Twofer Card challenge

since last time I did it, I didn't follow the rules of making 2 cards,
same image/die cut for two different occasions...
I made 2 Christmas cards...whoops...
I had read all the instructions once before,
but my old age mind couldn't remember what I read I guess..LOL!

So here I am with two DIFFERENT occasion  cards...yippee!

I purchased a SU stamp set last year
'Bird Banter'.
OMGoodness this stamp set is so cute and fun
and the birds are a bit bigger then I thought, even better yet.

I used the Toucans from the set and googled them to see the colors
but there are so many different ones that just about any colors would work
I got the fun picture below from the San Diego Zoo.

Image result for toucan

For my first card I made it a Thank You card.
I die cut a branch and perched his little body on it...
the corners were rounded using my zutter corner chomper,
the toucan paper is from American Crafts.

My second card was made using the 'negative from the die cut of the first card....
this one is a friendship card!

I am actually thinking of giving this card to the 'hubs' for Valentines
as he is my friend as well as my hubby
and I know he would get a kick out of it!

Now can't wait to see what the next theme is...
I love a good challenge, don't you?

Two Rose Heart

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Hi, Diane with you today using a favorite Tutti Designs die
Two Rose Heart.

This is a great die not only for Valentines
but weddings, anniversaries or just because!!

The first card was simply die cut on red card stock,
then placed on a heart embossed background.
Three Roses were added.
The sentiment was stamped on a
Tutti Designs Cross Stitch Rectangle.

The next card has a crimped background, paper lace doily
with the die cut from pink card stock.
A tiny glitter heart was added using the
Tutti Designs Stitched Heart.

The last card I die cut the two rose heart from white card stock,
then die cut a larger heart from Tutti Designs Stitched Hearts,
then embossed it,
I also added another tiny stitched heart.

Clouds

Just for fun today I decided to join in the CASology  challenge
which is Cloudy.

I made a really simple CAS card using card stock pieces from my drawer.

I also embossed a small strip of blue card stock
behind my 'clouds' with a cloud EB folder.

The sentiment is from Stampendpous.
That's it...CAS...and the challenge ends soon
so I had better get going ...lol!!

Rollin' With Friends

There's new challenge up today at the
using the letter 'V' for vehicle.

I was kind of excited because I got to use my new
Avery Elle Birthday Bus stamp!
I actually bought this specifically for another
DT challenge but time got away
and I never had a chance to use it...
you all know how that goes!

Nothing like 'rollin' down the road with a group of friends...
gee, I wonder where they are headed....
I guess we will never know!

Aren't these just the cutest little party goers ever??

The paper I used is from Pink & Main Beach Babe...
I just love this pad full of bright and happy colors.....
plus the fact that this one reminded me of a divided street!

So make sure and head on over to
the Alphabet Challenge and let us see YOUR vehicles!!

Looking Back In Time Challenge

Hello friends!!
Today we have a new challenge theme starting at
Double D challenges and a new fun mood board to inspire you!

The theme is 'Looking Back In Time'.

Just those four pictures above gives you lots to choose from,
let alone an idea of your own.

I remembered I had a phone stamp from a  Unity Stamp
that I thought would work great.
Gee, I remember growing up we had a 3 party line.
Do any of you remember those...where anyone on the line with you
could listen in to all your conversations if they wanted to..
what a difference today makes, anyhow,
here is my card.

I started with a crumb card stock base and a glossy paper on that.
I used a clock print from TH idea-ology Lost and Found paper pad.
My crazy mind thought the paper fit in with the
sentiment 'Call me anytime'..lol!

The phone was stamped in Versamark,
then heat embossed with a SNS Black Detail embossing powder.

I felt it still lacked something so added the simple little flower.

The DD design team has some really fabulous designs
once again for this challenge...
make sure to head on over to Double D and take a peek at them
join in with us too...always a fabulous prize up for grabs!!

Something New Challenge

We have a new challenge theme starting today at
Dies R Us challenge blog and our theme is
'Something New'
can be a new baby, new home, even a new crafty item
just so it is, well NEW!

Grab our Badge!

I purchased this beautiful 'new to me' die on my last order to

Poppystamps - Dies - Stitch Wreath

I seem to go into these kicks of certain kinds of dies
and right now I am into any kind of a
stitch or stitched die...just can't get enough of them lol!

I also have been having a 'love' for what I call a 'negative' die,
meaning a die that cuts a 'negative' into your card
instead of a die cut shape.
So, I really struck 'gold' when this die had both!!

I die cut the wreath on a card stock base,
then simply added the bright green card stock behind.
(makes the card pretty on the inside as well)

Impression Obsession - Dies - Fancy Ornament

comes with its own separate little bow
which is what I used for the wreath.
A pretty green gem was added to that.

Tutti Designs - Word Set - Hello

I cut it twice and stacked it,
leaving a bit of the underneath of the pink to show.

I felt it still needed something, so I added a few sequins.

Dies R Us challenge blog and see all the beautiful
'new' and inspiring creations from the design team.

Heart Stained Glass

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Happy Tuesday, Diane with you today
using the fabulous 'Heart Stained Glass' die.

I have three different techniques I used with this die...all very easy!

The first card, after die cutting, I placed the die on a sticky back paper,
sprinkled with glitter, then colored the glitter with Copics.
You really don't have to press hard as the ink from the Copics
flows very smoothly on the glitter.
The Scalloped Nesting Rectangle was used for the sentiment.

The next card was created by adding Stick It to the back of my black card stock,
then once cut, sticking it down on vellum.
I then flipped it over and used Copics to color on the backside.
The sentiment was stamped on a Tutti Designs Stitched Heart.

The last card was a fun and easy technique using nail polish.
You just get a flat container with water and drop colors of nail polish in
then use a brush to swirl the colors,
then carefully lay your card stock on top to pick up the patterns.
Let dry and you have a one of kind background!
The sentiment was stamped on a Tutti Designs Cross Stitch Rectangle!

Sparkle

Hello there!
Today is our first challenge of the year at
and our hostess is Terri and she has chosen the theme of
'Make It Sparkle'.

I have been trying my best to use up some of my
things just 'laying' around my craft room
and one thing is a huge stack of pre-cut and scored card stock bases.
That is where my project began....a 4 1/2 by 4 1/2 card ready to go!

I embossed a panel with tiny hearts EB folder,
then stamped my 'Sparkle' sentiment on top.

The glittery heart was cut using an Impression Obsession
flower heart die,
I added a few gems for even more  'sparkle'.
I also used a Starburst gelly roll pen all over the card front.

Another goal of mine for 2019 was to finish the insides of my card...
and I did!!!
(though I didn't take a photo of it)

Now how about you pop on over to
The Sisterhood and see all the 'sparkle' goodness
my 'Sistahs' have created!!
