In The Red Challenge

Today at The Sisterhood of Crafters
our hostess is Terri and she has chosen the challenge theme of
'In The Red'

For my card I pulled out the cutest little dress die
which I have actually used before but not quite for some time.
I think my like of this die takes me back to my paper doll days.
It's a fun die you can make all kinds of cute girlie cards with!

Because the die has three different dress pieces,
I was able  to cut the skirt in a couple of small print scrap papers.
the hanger was cut from metallic scraps.

I added a sticky back paper to the pretty Tonic die I used,
then sprinkled the openings with SNS Fire Engine Red glitter.
The sentiment is an oldie from my stamp drawer.

If you want to see more pretty red cards
then head on over to
and see all the pretty things my 'sistahs' have created!

Lucky

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today

Hi, Diane with you today with a fun and new die
'Lucky'

I started with a print from Crafty Secrets I had in my stash...
I think she is the perfect image with her Irish Setter
to use with the die cut word Lucky.

I framed the image with Dotted Nesting Squares
layering one under the other.
I coated the lucky die cut with glue the sprinkled it heavily with
Shamrock glitter....
just in time for St Patrick's Day!!

Here is the inside 3D part

This shows the 3d a little bit better

This is a side view before it closes up flat to mail.

The file also comes with an extra heart or square cutout
and these make the most perfect shaker cards,

Christmas card scenes!
I encourage you to watch the video to see how easy these are!

Pop Up Box Card

Today at Back To Basics and Beyond
our challenge theme is 'Pop Up Box Card'
or as some may call it 'Card In A Box'.
Which ever name, it is still the same and still as fun!!

Here is an excellent tutorial and video if you want to make one of your own!

My box card was made entirely from a paper pad
(other then the card base).
I used the Mintay Papers I just purchased in a 6x6 pad called 'Kiddie'...
it is so CUTE!!

Using the papers I fussy cut all the cute little images out.
I wish you could see this IRL as it is so detailed!

It folds up totally flat to mail in a larger envelope.

The designer paper is double sided and very sturdy to hold the images well.

Make sure to visit the BBB blog to see all the fun pop up box cards
the Design Team has created...lots of cute~cute varieties!!

'X'tra Bling Alphabet Challenge

Today at the Alphabet Challenge we are to the letter
'X' and that means our challenge is to add
'X'tra bling...a little play on words LOL!

I had the perfect die for this challenge.
It's the 'Stacked LOVE' die from Cheapo dies.
I really, really like this die.

Here is the die cut before I added all the bling to the cut out circles.

Here is the die with all the bling added...pretty fun!

I also added a few bling-y glitter hearts...
and thought it would be fun to add the word 'YOU'!
The paper is from Authentique Beloved pad.

Get your sunglasses and head on over to our
X-TRA BLING
post at the Alphabet challenge!!

Smile For The Birdie

Half way through the month and that means it's time for a new
challenge theme at Dies R Us Challenges!

Grab our Badge!

The theme is birds and/or bees.
Well obviously you can see I went with birds.

I started out by die cutting 3 clouds using both
Impression Obsession Clouds

I then used a texture stamp and stamped all over using
Memento Dew Drop Ink London Fog.

I added scraps of paper behind the clouds,
but you could just as easily die cut the clouds and piece them in
for a bit of a different look.

I added birds from the
Impression Obsession Sea Birds set.

I even used the left over pieces for the inside of my card,
and adding texture to that as well.

The front of the card was finished by adding the word 'SMILE'
I cut it twice, adding the black underneath for a shadow effect.

Make sure to pop on over to the
Dies R Us challenge blog and see all the
fun and pretty designs from the design team!!

Everything

At The Sisterhood of Crafters our next challenge is
A non-traditional Valentine...no hearts or flowers
and being hosted by Vicki.

I have to admit it stumped me for a bit....
and could of made chocolates....but in the end I went with a
red and white glitter-y card!

I used a Memory Box Distressed Collage die to cut my card front.
I adhered it to a sticky back paper then added
SNS Fire Engine Red Glitter to it...pretty!

The butterfly is one from Cheery Lynn Designs Lace Flourish Butterfly....
it's a big one and I cut an 'angel wing' from vellum to go underneath.

Here is the inside of the card...
the sentiment both inside and out are from Flouishes.
Remember them?  I have always loved their stamps!

I was very pleased how this card turned out!

Love Notes

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today

Today I have a pretty card using the newly released die
Envelope & Bouquet.

I die cut the frame of the envelope, then adhered it to scraps of
papers, trimmed around the edge and had the cutest little envelopes!
You could also die cut again and paper piece the bits in.

The bouquet was cut from white card stock,
then I simply colored it in with Copics.
It all was mounted on layers of

Valentine

Just a simple CAS sketch for me today!

I saw this cute and very simple sketch at
CAS(E) this Sketch and couldn't resit giving it a try.
I am not the world's best at ether CAS or sketches
so I push myself to try both at times!

I used a Cottage Cutz die with three little birdies.

I embossed a small panel with a small EB folder I picked up
yesterday in Michael's half off sale.....
a few little red hearts were added....
the sentiment is part of the EB folder set.

That's it for me today...thanks for visiting!!

Happiness

Today at
the challenge is 'paper piecing'...pretty easy!

My card is a mixture of old and new!
New heart die, new stamp (sentiment).
Old (er) paper and stamp/die little Emma.

I stamped and die cut 'Emma' from Paper Sweeties.
Once I had her colored in, I stamped, hand cut,
and paper pieced her cute little dress on her body.

Make sure to visit the challenge at BBB to see all the
pretty creations the DT has to inspire!!

Hearts

Happy first Wednesday of February!!
Being the first Wednesday of the month
brings us to a new challenge at
I created this pretty 'mood board' for inspiration.
However, you can create any color as long as you have hearts on it!

Here is my card.

As you can see I went totally with the mood board colors
and some of the elements seen.

This was a very easy card to make using an embossing folder (hearts)
and some pretty dies.

I also distressed the embossed piece,
taking direction from one of the hearts on the board
(bottom left heart).
I used my Zutter Distress It All for that.

The next layer was a Cherry Lynn Designs die cut doily,
then a Heart die from Spellbinders,
speaking of, the wings are also SB which I bought a
grab bag of dies from them in the  last year or so
and the wings were one of them.
They came in pretty handy for this card!

The little heart is one of Tutti Designs Stitched Nesting Heart dies.

I don't normally post the prizes on MY blog
but because this die is a favorite of mine
I decided to show what you could win just by
entering our challenge.

Make sure to go to Double D and see all the beautiful work
by the design teams...they are amazing as always!!

Be A Unicorn

This is my post on the
Tutti Designs blog today.

Hi, Diane with you today featuring a newly
released die 'UNICORN'.

I had a lot of fun with this card and it came together super easy!
Of course having a die as cute as this one made it easy!!

As you can see below,
I die cut the UNICORN once from white card stock and once from pink card stock.
I layered the white over the pink, slightly off to give
a pink shadow effect,
except for the mane and the tail,
I just popped those 2 pieces in like a puzzle piece

I cut a negative from a designer paper
(I can use the star later)
and another star from a gold glitter paper,
I just popped the gold star back in.
I embossed a cute sentiment with gold EB powder
and hand cut a banner.
A few gold star 'candi's' were added.

I was thinking this unicorn could be cut many different ways
by paper piecing many different papers in the main/tail
(think glitter paper and/or colorful designer paper)
