Butterfly Fun

While we were at the lake house this summer
I took all my stencils with me and spent many a night
stenciling away while the hubby watched TV.

One of my newest stencils was a stamp and stencil combo by
Taylored Exoressions .  It looked interesting so I purchased it
and have to say I LOVE it and so glad I have it!
The body of the butterfly is the stamp and it stamps all over,
one big stamp.  Then you get two stencils, one for the upper wings
and one for the lower wings, making it easy to use separate colors.

I just added a sentiment from The Greetery Sentiment Suite Birthday,
I thought that was all it needed.

The set was so much fun to use I stenciled 3 more sets to use
on later cards, all were stamped with various Altenew inks!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you like this set as much as I do!

Floral Stencil

There is a new challenge starting today at
The Sisterhood of Crafters
and our theme is STENCILS chosen by our 'sistah' Darlene.

I have to say this challenge is right up my alley  as I have
been totally addicted to stencils lately especially the layering ones
which is what I have used today.  They are pricey little things but well
worth it for all the enjoyment I get out of them!

I have used one by Pink Fresh Studio called
Seamless Floral Panel, so many color options with this!

I used Altenew inks for this from the Red Sunset group
which contains Blush~Rouge~Velvet and Crimson.
Such a pretty combination don't you think?

Being how much I loved the outcome of this stencil I didn't wanted
to cover much of it up with a sentiment so I chose a Happy Birthday
die cut which allowed most of the pretty stenciling to show thru.

I have a lot more stencils to show in the upcoming weeks as
while at the summer house that was one thing I could sit and easily do
while the hubby watched TV at nights, I am not a big TV watcher!
I just recently saw an embossing folder/stencil combo, something I
think I need to try out!

Want to see some FUN and pretty stenciling?
Then head on over to The Sisterhood!!

Happy Fall

Time for a new challenge at Dies R Us
and as always our theme is anything goes making it super easy to
join us, you just need to use a die of a company name that DRU carries...
easy peasy!!

To me September means sunflowers.
Years ago I had a sunflower kitchen all in pretty yellows and gold.

I created a sunflower card using Poppystamps Delightful Daisy die.
I die cut twice and trimming off the stem on the second cut
so I could layer the blooms and slightly offsetting them.

My stems and flowers were colored with copics.

The frame is Tutti Designs Maple Vine Frame die
that I die cut from a patterned paper.

The sentiment is Karen Burniston Autumn Word Set
that was inked with Distress Oxide Brushed Corduroy.
All links are given below.

We would love to have you join us at Dies R Us challenge blog
for your chance to win a gift certificate to the Dies R Us store!

For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.

Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts.

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

Two Old Bats September Mid Month Reminder

It's time for our mid month challenge reminder at
Two Old Bats!

We have a fun and spooky mood board for your inspiration!

I let the mood board inspire me with a
never used before stamp set from Inkadinkadoo
and a new die to make the mini slimline envelope from
Pink Fresh Studio.  When this die came out I hesitated to
get it along with the  regular size envelope die
but now am so glad I did, it's not only cute, but a great timesaver
and I can use some of the many 12 x 12 papers I never seem to use!
A little hint if you buy this die when you cut your base cardstock for your
card, make your envelope and make sure it fits in first before you create your card.
I didn't do that and my card was slightly larger then the envelop and
I had to trim it down when finished and that wasn't easy as you can see
it made my edges slightly off center from right to left!
Had I inserted the base first I wouldn't of had a problem, live and learn !

Make sure to pop on over to Two Old Bats and see what the creative
design time has in store for you, join in with us while you are there!

Stripes

Just a quick CAS card made using Memory Box Stitched Pumpkins
and a snippet of stripes from my scrap bag!
Pumpkins were all cut from scraps as well.

Not sure who makes the sentiment but I've had it for along time!

Wonderful Washi

Did another challenge today that I have been meaning to do for months
and FINALLY found some time today!

I used Poppystamps Adriana Small Curve Border
my first time using it!

I also used 3 different washi tapes I have had forever.
I used to have a lot more but my dog Mack when a puppy
got into a craft drawer I had left open and chewed most of them up
but I did at least have these three that seemed to work with my die cute.

I also spattered gold paint on then when dry
stamped the sentiment using Potters Clay ink.
I have never had good luck with my washi tapes sticking down good
so I ran a piece of scor tape under each strip,
that washi is going nowhere!

Stencils

All summer at the lake house I worked on a bunch of my stencils
when the weather wasn't cooperating and now have many pieces to turn into cards!
Today's card is one of them and since I saw a stencil or two challenge out there
I decided now was the time to turn one into a card and have fun!

The stencil is by Pink Fresh Studio Seamless Floral Panel and
the sentiment and die are from Lawn Fawn.

I know it's pretty summery for this time of year, but I love it anyhow!

A Good Day

It's that time again for a new challenge theme at
The Sisterhood of Crafters and it has been chosen
by our 'sistah' Annie and the theme is
CUTE AND SIMPLE.

My friend and fellow teammate Dar surprised me with this
adorable stamp set from Unity Kittens Together.
It come's with another image which I have stamped and will
appear on another card later.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and colored with
Tombow markers.  The frame is a new one from Pink Fresh Studios,
When I received the die I wasn't sure how it die cut so I
cut it on black cardstock to see what it produced and this frame
was part of it, a perfect fit for my kitties.
The sentiment is part of the stamp set.

The background papers are from Craft Consortium
Bluebells and Buttercups, this is an adorable pad of papers.

I hope to see YOU at The Sisterhood and check out all the fun
and pretty awesome designs by my 'sistahs' while you are there!

Two Old Bats September Halloween Challenge

Welcome to our spooky challenge at
Two Old Bats!

We have a pretty cool mood board for you
if you need some inspiration of where to start!
I think this board is one of my favorites!

I always try and let the board inspire me
as it did this time with the dancing skeletons!
My skeleton has grabbed him a witchy dance partner this time!

The image is Witchy Dance by Stampendus.
I heat embossed with a fine black embossing powder.
The sentiment is one from the dollar bin long ago at Michaels,
the bat is a punch.  I have a little bat brad on the sentiment as well,
felt pretty good to put it to use!
The designer paper is from Pink & Main Not Too Spooky paper pad!

I hope you will join us Two Old Bats Halloween challenge
and see all the amazing talent from our design team!!

Sunflowers

Happy September 1st, where did our summer go?
Here in Michigan we can have very summery weather
or very fall type weather, I am hoping for it to stay summery
as I am NOT ready for what follows!

It also brings us to a new challenge theme at Dies R Us
which is  always 'ANYTHING GOES'!

My card was created using a Cheapo Sunflower die
(all links are given below)
and a cat die and a squirrel die both from Impression Obsession.

I didn't add a sentiment yet but am thinking of adding a
'thinking of you' as it seems to me the cat is thinking about getting that squirrel!
I hope he realizes that the squirrel is almost as big as he is!

I colored in my dies with copics then decided to add the leaves
to the sunflowers for a bit more detail!

We would love to have you join us at the Dies R Us challenge!!

For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.

Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts.

Foxy Tail

Can you believe it is Sept 1st already?
It seems the older you get the faster time passes by, kind of scary!

September 1st brings us to a new challenge theme at
Double D challenges and it is
ANYTHING With A Tail

Look at all the tails we have to inspire YOU!

This is such an easy challenge, even an airplane has a tail,
there are a ton of possibilities!!

I went with a foxy tail, a stamp set from Sparkle N Sprinkle
that has since ended their business, but I still love their products!!
This stamp set is from the Hello Foxy set by Beccy Muir.
You can still get the digital set by going HERE!

I colored in my fox then used designer paper from the Prima pad Pumpkin and Spice.
The stacked banners behind the image are Pretty Pink Posh
Stitched Strips dies, I have to say I LOVE this die set!
I cut the set using Warms smooth cardstock from
Scrapbook.com, these paper pads are really nice
as they are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and have coordinating colors
 to mix and match.

I added a tiny butterfly to the fox tail and inside my card
using Creative Expressions Finishing Touches Petite Butterflies.

Take a peek over at Double D and see all the fun 'tail swishing" going on
from the incredible design team!

NEW Challenge Blog Four Seasons

Well, my partner in crime Dar from Dar's Crafty Creations and myself
are at it again!
We started yet another new challenge called
Four Seasons!
It is a monthly challenge and each season will be represented
three times per season with a new inspiration board each month!
ALL the details can be found HERE.

Here is the first inspiration board

I let the board inspire me of what to create and as you see
I went with the top right corner, except I have a mouse in the middle
of my sunflower not a butterfly.

A few months back a friend of mine that has given up
papercrafting (I know right, how could she) sold me ALL her
House Mouse stamps and this is one of them,
am I lucky or what!!!

I recently purchased some new to me 80# Super Smooth Accent Opaque Digital
card stock from Amazon.  I decided to stamp and color on it to
see how it performed, pretty darn well if you ask me!
I colored in with various Copics and added some
Pink Fresh Studio Peach Fuzz jewels, I love those things!
The sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh Simple Sentiments.
The background paper is Prima Sun Kiss collection from 2012, yikes NINE years old!!

So take a peek on over at the NEW FOUR SEASONS challenge blog,
see our new design team and all the beautiful creations they have created!

Oh, and so you know, randomly we will have a prize to give away
to one lucky entry that played along, you never know when, it's always a surprise!
