Happy Mother's Day

I took some time out today to join in  a challenge that I thought
was just too pretty to resist!

The challenge is at The Card Concept and this is their
inspiration piece below:

I love a pretty table and this one just 'spoke to me'!
All the colors, the beauty of the flowers, it ALL inspired me!
You are asked to define the style you used and I am calling mine
Classy and Elegant.

I used some new to me goodies that I haven't used before
to create my Mother's Day card.
My Mom passed away a few years ago as did my MIL
so I think I will mail this card to my daughter for Mother's Day
to brighten up her day!

I stenciled the card with Altenews Sweet Spring Stencil.
It's a two part stencil and I think I will practice more with it
and other colors.  The sentiment is from The Greetery which
is from their Sentiment Suite birthday set. but I thought it would
work well for Mother's Day!
I added a few sequins and a tiny bit of Nuvo to the flower
centers just to give a little sparkle.

Forever Friends

A new challenge theme starts at
The Sisterhood of Crafters and is being hosted by our 'sistah' Vickie
and she has chosen
How Does Your Garden Grow?
Anything you might see in a garden.

This card is 'almost' true to form in my gardens, but it's
cats and those pesky deer though you won't see
them growing out of pots!!

I can't tell you how many times the outside kitties
have either almost gotten their tails cut off
or have jumped out at me scaring the bejebbers out of me
or their tails swishing around so I think it is a snake!

I have had this cute stamp for quite a while now but it's the first time
it has seen ink!

I messed up my purple and pink flowers but will have to send it
to a friend that doesn't make cards or put in my dollar box.
I have to confess I tried to fix them and messed them up even more,
so it is what it is, I think I need a 'retry'!

How does YOUR garden grow?  We sure would like to see by you
joining in at The Sisterhood, so make sure to head on over
and see all the beautiful garden designs from my 'sistahs'!!

Happy Birthday Slimline

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today

Hello Tutti fans, Diane here on this Tuesday to once again
show a card I created for the UK Hochanda TV show
that aired March 27th.

This time I am using a fun new slimline die
#685 Wobbly frame.

This die cuts just as it states a 'wobbly frame'
and I used the largest from the set.

Once my frame was cut I cut a second one from a
checked glittery paper and used the inside piece
to place inside the frame.

The Roses in each corner were die cut using #639 Rose Trio.
Isn't that just the prettiest die cut?
The sentiment was stamped on a #418 Scalloped Stitched rectangle.

The Sun Will shine

Today at Double D we have the perfect theme for April
and it is April Showers water related!

We have all kinds of ideas for inspiration for you in our mood board below!

I have to admit I purposely purchased this stamp (Colorado Craft All Weather Friend) just for this challenge!
I also have to admit that I am totally addicted to this company
and you will surely see many more of their images here!

I used a raindrop stencil for the background
and stenciled with Versamark and a SNS Silver Detail
embossing powder.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper,
colored with my Tombows, then used the matching die to cut out.
The only thing is the stamped image had a couple of puddles
which the die does not include, co I fussy cut them out myself
and added them to the card.  The top of the umbrella was paper pieced
as it does come with a die just for that.
I learned a long time ago when a die is offered to grab it then
or you will certainly wish you had later!

Visit the Double D blog to see all the fun April Showers
the team has created for this challenge and join in with us!

Love Owls

This is my card on the Tutti Designs blog today

Hello Tutti friends, today I have another card I created for the
UK Hochanda TV show that aired on March 27th,

This card features the Love Owls die #428.

I die cut my owls first in white card stock then colored in a few
places and then die cut once more from brown card stock
and paper pieced them on.

For the base of the card I did a 'slightly' fancy fold.  Just a normal A2 card
that the front has been scored down the center then folded back on itself.
To that I added two Scalloped Stitched circles, the bottom one was embossed.

I added another circle inside the card which I stamped my sentiment on
and made sure it matched up with the front panel circles when closed.

Birthday Wishes

Time for a new challenge at Dies R Us and our theme as always
is Anything Goes!

A few challenges back a Design Team member used the
Impression Obsession Stitched Tulip die
and after seeing her cute card she enabled me to purchase the die
and I am so glad I did as it is so fun to play with.

This die comes with a separate piece you see on the front
making it easy to make it a two tone flower.

I first die cut in green then just the tulip again in the gingham
and then the separate piece in the dotted print.

I used Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside borders
and made a stencil for my clouds using
Impression Obsession Clouds
stenciled with TH Distress Oxide Tattered Rose Ink.
All links can be found below.

You Brighten My Day

It's a new challenge for The Sisterhood of Crafters
and our theme is Mellow Yellow
chosen by our former DT 'sistah'  Vicki R.

I used a beautiful stamp set I had yet to ink from
Altenew Exotic Tulips that I purchased in early Spring of 2020.
Don't ask me why I waited so long to use but now
can't wait to ink this is other colors.

I LOVE tulips right along with the spring daffodils,
but every bulb gets eaten by critters every year.
If lucky I might have 3 tulips every Spring
so stamping them is another way of enjoying them!

For my ink colors I used a small cube set from Altenew Golden Sunset.
These inks are a perfect way for the layering flower stamps.

I stamped my flowers and leaves using a mask provided in the set I bought.
The die for the sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Strip Dies
and the sentiment is from Pink Fresh Studio Simply Sentiments~Hello
which fit perfectly with these dies.

I did a silly thing when I added the yellow paper underneath
by covering it up for the most part as it matched the dots I stamped
on the card front but you can barely see it, live and learn!

Check out all the other pretty 'mellow yellow' gorgeous creations
from my The Sisterhood sistahs' on the challenge blog!

Freaky Frankie

It's mid reminder for the challenge at
Two Old Bats Halloween challenge
and I have a Freaky Frankie to share with you,
at least that I what I have named him!

Using the mood board once again for my card
I found a bit of 12 x 12 paper left with this Frankie on it
and decided to make him a 'star'!

I can't tell whose papers these are but I can tell you they are OLD,
very old!
I used a wonky stitched die in lime green
the greener the better right!

Pop on over to the
Two Old Bats Halloween challenge
and join in with our fun...BOO!

This card features the Cat In  The Garden die along with
the Stitched Scallop Circle die.

designer paper underneath along with a piece of black card stock.

Sunshine and Rainbows

It's the first Wednesday of April which brings us to a new challenge at
Double D and the theme is a fun one
Rainbows~Unicorns~Mermaids .

There is a colorful and fun mood board to inspire with colors!

My card was inspired by the top right corner, unicorns!
Last year I entered a challenge at Paper Smooches with this card  HERE
and won the awesome prize.  They sent me several stamp and die sets
and this cute unicorn~rainbow set was one of them!
They have since gone out of business which is sad news for all!

Anyhow, for my card I first used Lawn Fawn cloud stencils in various
Dew Drop ink colors and the Unicorn stamp set.  The rainbow is part of the set
and at first I colored it in with the normal rainbow colors
but it looked out of place so I did a new one to match my unicorn
fussy cut it out and placed it over the top of the original one!

A glue water mix was splattered over the unicorn, then glitter was sprinkled on.
The fun sentiment is also part of the stamp set!

I hope you go over to the Double D blog
to see all the amazing designs from the teams
and join in with us wile there, there is a pretty neat prize up for grabs too!

Honeycomb

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today:

Hello Tutti fans, Diane with you today with a card I made for the

Hochanda UK TV show that aired on March 27th.

For this card I used the fun Honeycomb die cut from a yellow card stock
then layered on a Hexagon die.

I stenciled a honeycomb background then spattered
gold perfect pearls on.
I also cut an extra honeycomb from black
then snipped off the bees to use separately.
A smaller die of the hexagon set to stamp
the sentiment on which is from now out of business SNS.

All links for the dies are given below.

Frankie

Time for a new challenge at

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge

Can you believe we are creating Halloween in MARCH?
We are and it is SO much fun to be able to get some use
out of our Halloween goodies!

There is a mood board for inspiration
but it is just that as the challenge theme is always anything goes Halloween!!

I decided I was going to go with the mood board
for MY inspiration, I just couldn't resist Frankie or those fun colors!

I used some paper that has been in my stash since 2013
yep seven long years from Me & My BIG Ideas.
I so wanted to buy some new but since I have so
much Halloween paper I decided to resist, very hard for me!

I had a lot of fun paper piecing Frankie together
and was thrilled to see I had a die for the bats
I think they are pretty cool!

Delightful Daisy

It's April 1st~Happy April Fools Day!
I'm not 'foolin'  when I say it is also a new challenge at
Dies R Us!
As you know we have changed over to an 'ANYTHING' GOES challenge
making it pretty simple to join in with us
as long as you use a die company Dies R Us carries
you have a chance to win an awesome prize~~

I don't know about you but I love daisies and used one of my
favorite daisy dies for the focal point of this card
Poppystamps Delightful Daisy!

I also die cut a couple different size rectangles to use on my slimline
card from Tutti Designs Dotted rectangles.
I decided for the sentiment I would simply add a
'Hello' using the smallest of the dies in the
Tutti Designs Hello Word set.

If interested the papers are from a favorite paper company
of mine from Poland 'P13' The Four seasons
this one being Summer and this one comes in a 6x8 size
making it ideal for a slimline card.

All links are given below for the dies I have used
if still in stock and/or an equivalent .
