Less Is More Challenge #17 ~Square

This week the Less Is More Challenge is to be "square" (see sketch)......I used a cuttlebug little embossing folder and colored it with Pebbles Creme Chalk ......I love this chalk....I purchased it at Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon...what a great way to try it out...I liked it so much I have since gone back and bought other color groups...it has a bit of metallic in it.....
I had to add the ribbon to my card...it just screamed for it.......I decided that there is no wrong or right way, that if we all made our cards the exact same way it would be a boring world (that's my story and I am sticking to it...lol)..... sorry Mandi and Chrissie...honestly I could hear this card screaming all the thru the house to add that ribbon...and its only a skinny one...just close one eye and look at my card and maybe you won't notice the addition...hahhah........
Sorry I couldn't leave comments last week, so thank you to all that visited me...I will visit you this week....now my followers disappear and reappear...thanks blogger!!
Don't forget to come back tomorrow to see my "what's blooming in your garden post"...I have some beauties this week.
Also wanted to add the ribbon on my card does match perfectly...it's the gloomy weather here...bad for photo taking...cold, too!!

Well, I think you have to have a house point knocked off this week lol
I agree the image needed a little something else, but tut tut at the ribbon placement :)
Thanks so much Diane

Hi Diane

This little embossing folder looks so cute....and I agree about the ribbon *snigger*. It is only a skinny one so maybe you'll get away with it :-)

Thanks for the tip for fixing the commenting too! It's worked a treat! Now just have to get my followers back *sigh*.

Lovely card and I like the ribbon but quite see how you got a house point knocked off (me too because my embellies were a little off the square) - looks like it's you and me in detention!!!!

When I first looked at your entry my first thoughts were 'oh I wonder what Mandi will say about the ribbon' lol

I wasn't wrong but I thought it was fine. Lovely card.

I think your embossed design is lovely, the colours are so pretty! It's hard to make a card with so much white space :)

Isn't there something about rules being made to be broken?!! Love your soft chalking. Vx

know what you mean, I had to fight the urge to add something too the opposite corner to balance the card. Think the ribbon looks fab.

You have inspired me to break out those chalks! Love it! I bought some fixative spray for them and haven't used them since. But now, well, you did such a fine job..I have to! ;)

Isn't amazing how our stash actually talks to us and more amazing that we listen. Love your card with or without ribbon and the chalk is very effective.

Well, all I can say, Diane, is....I would have added the ribbon too! LOL! Nothing worse than having your card shout at you! LOL!! Love that little embossing folder...and I love the way you've chalked it up!

My card is HERE

Well I have to say that your ribbon did stray quite a long way out of your chosen square Diane, maybe you should shut your ears to the screaming! If your embossing had been mounted on another colour you may not have need the ribbon!
It is pretty embossing though!
Thanks so much
