Meowy Christmas

I saw this fun challenge at CAS Christmas

and decided to give it a try though I am not sure it counts as CAS,
I hope so as it doesn't have much on it, and for my lots of 'white' space I have gray!

The cat stamp and die and hat are part of a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous
Crazy Cats set I have had forever and have never used before!
My friend that gave up card making sent me the accessories set that came with the
Crazy Birds set, so I used the hat here.
The sentiment I stamped directly onto my paper and is part of a
SSS Christmas Kitties stamp set!
Don't you love the expression on the cats face, it's like he is thinking
what is that hat doing on my head, LOL!!

Beauty In Simplicity

It's time for a new Double D challenge theme and it is
can you guess?  Sunflowers!

I had ordered a new sunflower stencil and it also just happens to be
the prize we are giving away this time, the fun stencil!

I masked part of it off being a 6 x 6 stencil and made a 5 1/2" by 5 1/2:" card.

Here is a sneak peek at the inside.
I had some pretty sunflower paper and thought it would look nice to add inside.

Make sure to visit the Double D Challenge blog and see
all the gorgeous sunflower designs from the DT
and join in with us for your chance to win this stencil like mine!

You Make My Life Colorful

I joined the Stay Crafty With Hero Arts Challenge #28 Fall Colors.

I chose the Fall colors of our skies here in Michigan as they are crisp, clean
and beautiful with their colors of blues, pinks, purples, yellows and oranges!

These are some photos I took in Northern Michigan by Lake Huron with
the colors I am talking about!

The firt picture I took while traveling to our lake house

The second picture is taken from my porch of the sunrise one morning
in the Fall.

I used a Hero Arts Stencil pair "Floral Backgrounds' to create my card,
using various colors of distress inks.

I know it's not your usual autumn card but I love it,
so cheerful and unique I think.  I also stenciled the second stencil
in the set so will show that one at a later time!

Howdy Christmas

Hello All, it's time for our 2nd Peace On Earth year round Christmas Challenge
which is always themed Anything Goes with a fun mood board
to inspire you with creative ideas!
You don't have to use it but I find it very fun challenging myself
to come up with something from my stash
that represents the board!!

For my card I went with the lower left, the cowboy snowmen!
I knew I had this older stamp from Stampabilities 2004
that I had only ever used once before!

I also had a Cheapo Die that said Howdy and thought the two
would somehow work well together, and they did!

The background paper I pulled from a basket of papers I am trying to use up
and liked the woodgrain look for my cowboy snowmen!
I added stickles to represent snow and give some sparkle!

So, why not head on over to the Peace On Earth challenge
and see all the fun DT creations and join in with us,
you can choose to use the inspiration board or not
but it sure is fun to build off of that!

Beauty of Fall

It was/is a rainy day today and decided to do a challenge I saw
that intrigued me after the road trip the hubs and I took to Indiana today.

I saw the challenge at CAS Mix Up and it looked fun to do
so I went with that.

They have a list of videos to watch of different ways you can
do your botanicals, I watched them all and thought the Gina K Designs
was the one for me.  You gather a few leaves, then ink them and press them onto cardstock.

So, while getting the mail in the pouring down rain I
grabbed a few leaves, brought them in, dried them off
them sponged ink on them and burnished them onto my card stock
using Distress Oxides shabby shutters~carved pumpkin~
crackling campfire and fossilized amber.
The sentiment was stamped with vintage photo.

These are the leaves I used, I inked the back sides
to get the veins to show.

You also have to use a stamp (my sentiment)
and one other element listed on their sidebar,
I went with sponging on the leaves.
This was pretty fun, give it a try!

Witch Way To The Candy?

October 15th, can you believe it?
It brings us to a new Anything Goes challenge starting at
Dies R Us!

Being October I stuck with a Halloween theme and created
 a fun spooky scene!

For my background I chose a paper from my stash and built off it
using the Tutti Designs Haunted House which I adhered to
another piece of  the large background washi tape I have.
Love this stuff as it makes a fun and fast background!

I also added a favorite cute die the Poppystamps Whittle Cat
cut from a black glitter paper scrap.

The sentiment is another from a Halloween strip set I purchased!

We would love to have you join us at the Dies R Us challenge!!
Take a peek at all the inspiration from the Design Team while there!

For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.

Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts.

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

Two Old Bats October Mid Month Reminder

We are half way thru our Two Old Bats Halloween challenge
and I have a reminder card to share!

This is our awesome mood board just to inspire as
you can create anything as long as it is Halloween!

I let the mood board semi inspire me once again using the
pumpkins and the country checks for my card!
This is using a House Mouse stamp Bewitching Pumpkins from 2004.

I colored this in long ago but never did anything with it, so it is making its debut today!
I know you can't see it but both the mouse hats and the pumpkin have glitter on them
giving a bit of sparkle-y shine!

We would love to have you join us at Two Old Bats Halloween challenge
and as always with 50 or more players we always have a random drawn prize
to one lucky player!!
