Yummy Pumpkin Bars
Tired of looking at all that "Halloween" candy? I know I am, but not ready for Christmas either! Make these yummy pumpkin bars to fill in the gap! I have had this recipe for over 20 years. I made these yesterday and took them to my Mom's for a "sweet" coffee break! They are much better if made the day ahead and chilled overnight, they do require refridgeration! Enjoy!!
Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars
Crust: 1 cup flour 1/3 cup packed brown sugar 5 Tablespoons Butter (softened) 1/2 cup chopped nuts Combine flour, brown sugar, cut in butter, stir in nuts. Will be crumbly. Set aside 3/4 cup of crumb mixture for topping. Press remaining into unprepared 8 x 8 pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes, cool slightly.
Filling: 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 cup pumpkin (solid, in the big can) 2 lightly beaten eggs 1 pk 8oz cream cheese softened 1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon 1 tsp of All Spice (pumpkin pie spice is okay, too) 1 tsp vanilla Combine cream cheese, sugar, pumpkin, eggs, and spices, add vanilla. Blend until smooth. Pour on crust, crumble on topping and bake an additional 30 minutes. Cool before cutting.

Bird of Happiness From Courtney's Closet Challenge #21
Here is my card for the "From Courtney's Closet" challenge #21. I am finally back on track. I was up early this morning, had some hot chocolate, and gave this card some thought, went back to bed, and came up with this idea.
I am calling this card "Bird of Happiness" as this card makes me happy~I like how it turned out and it came together pretty well!
Most of the products used are SU's, with the exception of the bird paper and the ribbon!
For the base of the card I used Basic Gray. The flowers are stamped on Whisper White using, Elegant Eggplant, So Saffron, Rose Red, Perfect Plum, and Taken With Teal. The stamps used are Big Flowers, and the little flower from last years Punch Box set. Punches used are Trio Flower, 1 1/4" Circle. The bird is some DS paper I had bought a few months back, perfect for my challenge!
If you would like to join this fun weekly challenge (most Thursdays) you can find the info here ,so check it out!
Singing the Blues~SCS LSC190
I did the Split Coast Stamper challenge LSC190 Single Blue Eye. Instructions were:
Stamps, cardstock, one single sheet of DS paper (I made my own), eyelets and one ribbon as your only embelishments and to use the color blue in your card. You could add other colors, as long as you used blue. No punches, cuttlebug (darn), and no other embelishments were allowed.
I don't have alot of House Mouse stamps, but this one is a favorite (aren't they all?).
The paper I used are two of the new "in colors" from SU Pacific Point and Baja Breeze and the same for the inks. The background stamps I used for my DS paper are also SU, Baroque Motifs and Big Flowers.

Thoughts of You
Wow, 4th posting for me today!!!
We have a new "Michael's" in our area and the grand opening was on Sunday, they were giving a Cricut Expression away and of course I didn't win it...dang it! But, we have another Michael's about 20 minutes south of here and this one is 20 minutes North of here, so how cool is that???
While I was there, I found these 2 $1 stamps, a bird and a flourish. How can you resist a $1 stamp that looks as good as these? I used my new SU exclusive die for the envelope, the new SU scallop edge punch and of course my ever faithful Cuttlebug embossing folders. I do have to mention, that this card is much prettier "in person"! I made a little tag to go inside that says "thoughts of you" from a SU set. I love this sentiment on this card, as it can be used for any occasion. The card is simple, but has its own elegance, I love the "chocolate" color of it!
Gobble Gobble Gobble
I showed in several posts earlier, all my core paper I bought and promised to show cards using it! This is the only one I have done so far and need to get them finished!
I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder and sanded the paper, I just love this paper for these folders, such a neat effect! The turkey is made with my QuicKutz, I added more feathers to make him "fluffy"! I used the crimper (again, as it has become a favorite tool) on the bottom and added some interesting "yarn" around it. I left a sentiment off of it at this time, as I am not sure what I will use it for.
Skaters Pizza Box
This is my second pizza box I made. The other one I forgot to get a picture of before I gave it away! My birthday was last week and my sister gave me a "snowflake" theme gift of all card making supplies......stamps, snowflakes, and the Sizzix snowflake die set......woowho!
So, I used my QuicKutz skate die, a few of the snowflakes from my gift, this great ice skate paper (look at all the grooves in the "ice"), added some glitter paper around the edges, and my little pizza box was done. The instructions for the box can be found on SCS if you would like to make one, they are "easy peazy"!
Tuesday Teapot Challenge #17
I finally got to do another Teapot Tuesday challenge, I am sooooooo behind!! You can read about the challenge here and see her wonderful blog. I have a new favorite saying for myself "think outside the box". I have to keep telling myself that as I seem to get in a rut of the "same o same 0". So being said , usually when I do an inspiration challenge I find myself doing exactly the same thing over and over, if the inspiration is a flower, I do a flower, if its a ladybug, I do a ladygbug, so on this one I used the teapot for what it is susposed to be, "inspiration" of colors and designs. I came up with this "tux" card using black and white.
I used my crimper for the shirt underneath and added little pearl "buttons". I really needed 1 more pearl, but I need to replenish my stock of "jewels"! Not sure what I am going to do with this card, but maybe a bridal shower or something. It also is quite heavy and will take extra postage if mailed!

Look at My Wonderful Thank You!
A few weeks ago, Holly from Hog Wild about Stamping and I crossed paths. I sent her some of the new core-dinations paper and as a thank you she sent me the most wonderful surprise. A beautiful card (made with the paper) and an altered tin with chocolates in it...yummy! Also there was another tin with a set of rubber stamps and some tags. Now how was that for such a nice thank you!!! Thank you so much Holly!! You can see her blog here: http://hogwildaboutstamping.blogspot.com/2008/10/thank-you.html go and check out the card she sent and also all the awesome things she has made since!!!
Simple Workshop Christmas Cards
I needed to come up with a few "simple" cards for upcoming workshops and put these two together using just 3 colors. I also wanted to show how to turn "everyday" stamp sets into Holiday cards. All products are from Stampin'Up!
I love the Baroque Motifs set , as its so versatile, yet looks elegant when done! I also like using the image "upside down" as it seems to work better for me that way, not sure why, I guess the flowers seem to "fit" better.
Both cards are using 3 key colors, Whisper White, Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss. the stamp sets used were Baroque Motifs, Always, A Cardinal Christmas (sentiment) and a Hostess set Punches Three, I also used the SU exclusive Top Note Die. I added some pearls to the center of the flowers, I really wanted some "bling" jewels, but need to restock on them!! The Horizontal Slot punch was used on the card with the bird. It was a little tricky getting it to punch thru all 3 cardstocks at once, but it did it!! I used the new Scallop Square punch on the other card.

From Courtneys Closet Challenge #20
I finally got on the stick and got a "From Courtney's Closet" inspiration challenge done. I think I missed the last 3. Every Thursday at http://stampinlibby.blogspot.com/2008/10/from-courtneys-closet-20-inspiration.html there is a challenge to make a card using the outfit Courtney is wearing. Its been fun to see Courtney grow, and she forever smiling! Why don't you join in, too?
For this card I used my new SU Top Note Die cut, its an exclusive from Stampin'Up!. Its amazing the things you can make with this die! I ran it thru my CB embossing folder. The rest is mostly made from scrap, my card base is the retired SU Sky Blue or is it Blue Sky? Its been so long I can't remember!!!! The ink I used was SU Taken With Teal...simple, but I needed simple today!!
Scallop Envelope Bigz Die Halloween Box
Since I haven't posted all week, you can see I have been busy! I made this box that I have been seeing on SCS and on many blogs using the SU exclusive Scallop Envelope Bigs Die. You cut four out, cut 1 tab off on each and use redline tape to secure the flaps inside to each other, fold the bottom flaps inside and put tape on the last two, fold the top down and secure and decorate as you wish.
I made Halloween cupcakes today, so I put one in my box and am giving to a friend today with her birthday card. Talk about easy peazy!!
The only thing I found out is that I cut all 4 of my envelopes at once. I wouldn't recommend that, as the pressure of that much DS paper slit some of my tabs, instead of scoring them.
Paper used was SU Ghostly Greetings.
Stampin'Up! Workshop Cards
These are the two cards we did at my workshop on Sunday. Both were quite easy and seemed to be liked by all. The first one I cased from a card my friend Mary had sent me, I had to change it a little bit to use the SU pumpkin and she added brads and stickles to hers. I had to subsitute "jewels" as the Stickles would not of dried in time.
The second card I saw on SCS and just loved it, I wish I would of remembered to write down who's it was. I really need to get better at that, as I thought it was a really clever card and would love to mention her name here.
Recipe for the first card is:
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Very Vanilla, Tangerine Tango
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Versa Mark
Stamp Set : Baroque Motifs, Autumn Harvest
Accessories: Stick on Jewels, glitter
Recipe for the second card is:
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss and DS Paper Ghostly Greetings
Ink: Basic Black
Stamp Set: Eat, Drink & Be Scarey
Accessories: Round Punch, bat brad, Pumpkin Pie Ribbon

Halloween SU Workshop Door Prizes
I had a workshop last night (thanks Lori) and made a few things for the door prizes. All the items made I "cased" from SCS. I find the best ideas on there! I made the little York Peppermint Patty Spiders to put at each place setting for the workshop. These little guys showcase the SU scallop circle and photo corner punches well!
The owl, I used the new mini catty Autumn Vine DS paper. I filled it with chocolate/carmel candy corn...yum!
Frankie Frankenstein was filled with Halloween M&M's.......double yum!! I think he looks a little like Elvis..... a green Elvis...not!
I also made a pizza box for Halloween and for some reason didn't take a picture of it. I had planned on posting it to SCS gallery, but too late now! I had filled the box with shredded Halloween paper and a "gummy" pizza I found at Walgreens! Wish I would of remembered the photo...darn. I will post the 2 cards we did later.
I joined a swap on SCS called "Naked Mail Swap". The idea is to ship a package in a clear container to your swap partner full of "stampin~card "makin" goodies". Some suggestions were a milk carton, plastic bottle, etc..it has to be see thru for the most part. You cut a "door" in the container to get your items inside and place your label over that to ship. If you have any clever ideas for me to "ship" in, just leave me a comment here. I already know my "theme" for my swap partner, but I can't post it here as I don't want to "unsurprise" (is that a word?) her!

Bewitching Pumpkins and Snow Swirled
I told myself I was not going to do anymore Christmas until after Halloween, but I just love this set so much and I heard it "calling to me"!!
The pink Christmas card was made with my favorite SU cardstock Pink Pirquette and whisper white. I used the new Big Shot from SU with the Top Note Die. Kiwi Kiss was the ink, and of course the swiss dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug had its part, too! Its simple, but elegant I think and I am one card closer to my goal!
The second card I used a House Mouse stamp from Stampabilities called Bewitching Pumpkins. This is one of those cards, that sometimes you go too far on and should have left it as is, but once you do it its too late to go back. What I am talking about, is I got the bright idea to add some glitter with my glitter pens and after I did it, well, just didn't really care for it. I almost trashed it, but I had put about an hour into it already and thought "well heck, its not like I am going to be graded on it or anything." So here is the finished result.
I am working on a mini pizza box to show next and these awesome spiders I saw on SCS...so stop back tomorrow!!

Teapot Tuesday Challege #15
This is my card for the Teapot Tuesday Challenge #15. I missed last weeks challenge, I am still working on it, but I did get this one done, out of order, but if you "knew" me, you would understand...LOL! You can find the challenge here: http://mothermark.blogspot.com/2008/10/happy-tuesday-15.html so why not join in???
I used SU pink Pirquette as the base and ink on the roses. The rose image is Anna Griffin, I have had this stamp for several years. The little leaves were cut with my QuicKutz. DS paper is some I bought a few years for a project I never did (of course) and can't even remember what I bought it for. The sentiment is from the new SU Rose Is A Rose set.
I now have to think about using up some of my Halloween and focus on that this month! I haven't hardly had a chance to use any of it and I have lots, so hopefully in the next few days that is what I will have posted. Thanks for visiting!!

Charmed, I'm Sure!
I made this penquin card for the SCS challenge WT185. The challenge was to use a charm on your card. I used a penquin stamp I purchased from Michael's last year, they are colored in with nothing but glitter pens. The background paper is old!!! Its some of my original scrapbook paper from way-way back! I can't believe I still even had it! I punched some snowflakes out from my MS punch, added some ribbon and added my little snowflake charm. The charm is also one I have had forever, feels good to use up some of the older items, thing is, I still have about 10 more snowflake charms to use!!
Altered Mini Composition Books
I picked this set of mini composition books up at JoAnn Fabrics for $1.00 this summer. I bought 2 sets and decided to do this set with a somewhat "vintage" theme and the 4 seasons. The little books are approx. 3 1/2" x 4 1/4". I know its hard to tell in the pictures, but, I popped alot of the details up. Fun little project!

Guess What The Backgrounds of These Are??
I came across this blog http://michellesrubberroom.blogspot.com/2008/09/paper-napkins-transfers.html with a wonderful tutorital to transfer paper napkins to cardstock. That is how I made these two cards. The fall one is much, much prettier in "real life", it was just a gloomy, rainy day here today. The fall card I used a leaf pattern that had a metalic gold band on it. The Maple leaves are cut with my QuicKutz on foil paper.
The second card, the print on the napkin is actually upside down, but I just like how is looked better. This was a fun~fun project, fast, too...try it...it makes you look at napkins in a whole new way!!
