It's Never Too Early

Hello All...this is my post on the
featuring the card I did for our challenge  "Christmas Die Cuts"
using the inspiration photo below

Hello my Classy Friends
Diane here with you today....
Can you believe Christmas is just a mere few months away??
If you are like me, you are so busy during the month of December
that it is nice to be a few months ahead on making your Christmas cards
"It's Never Too Early"!!

I started with the background of my card using a
I used a silver ink and basically just sponged around the stencil!

I have been having a "fondness" for the ornament dies available
and when I saw this intricate Impression Obsession Fancy Ornament die
well, I just had to have it!! But take a peek at the online store, as there are many
new ornament dies available, just type "ornament" into the search and you will
be amazed at how many to choose from!!

I cut it out of some glitter paper and a tip is to peel off some of the backing
of your glitter paper to get a nice smooth and clean cut!

The ornament hanger as well as the Merry Christmas were cut using
I don't know if you have ever tried this metal foil,
but if not, you need to, as it is stunning when cut!

The red bow is part of the ornament die which I cut from
finishing off the card with a bit of color.

I have lots of ideas for this die, so I am sure you will be seeing me using it over and over!!

Thanks for visiting, and don't forget to join in our current challenge which is
"Christmas Die Cuts"....hope to see you there!!

Tu-Tu Sweet

September is back to school for most kiddos
I have several granddaughters in dance and September
means it's also time to go back to dance class....

When I saw the September challenge at "Stampendous"
was "It's all about kids"  I put the two together...
dance and kids.....

A couple of my "little dancers" have birthdays coming up....
I thought this adorable stamp from Stampendous "Tutu Toad
would not only be perfect for one of them but bring a smile to their face as well!!

I had an older pad of paper called Nana's Kids and if you haven't noticed already,
I have been trying real hard to use up some of my stock....
this coming from a person that just bought 9 new pads of paper this week....lol!!

The card came together pretty easy....
the crown is from my stash and has a date on it of 2009 from Jolee's boutique

I hope Stampendous appreciates my card as it might cost me my marriage..LOL
No, really, we are leaving tomorrow and it's 4pm as I write this and I haven't so
much as packed a thing, gotten groceries, nor given the dog her bath.....
what's more important, right??

See you all on Monday!!

Summer Memories

Summer memories...aren't they the best.....
time spent with family and friends.....

Every year my daughter and her family spend "almost"
a week with us at our Lake Huron home....
we have lots of fun kayaking, playing corn hole, badminton, vollyball
taking long walks along the beach, sitting around the fire at night
and when it gets too dark and buggy out, we pop corn and play games!!

This year was no exception, we did all that and more...
I am sharing with you a few of the photos from our week in August....

Which brings me to the August challenge at Stampendous....
"Summer Memories"

I have used this stamp many a time before,  it's an oldie...
from 1998 and called Portland Head Lighthouse
but I thought it was perfect for my summer memories....
we see many a lighthouse where we are located here in Michigan....

I stamped the image in first Versamark...
then I added Stampendous "Red Dragon" embossing powder...
I LOVE this stuff..so pretty with all that sparkle of glitter in it!!

I let the image speak for itself, so just added a ribbon and an anchor punch!
I will be off my blog until the 28th or so
we will be back at the Lake Huron house at the time of this post....
have a great week my friends!!

Colors of Fall

Hi All...this is my post on the "Classy Cards 'n Such" blog today
for our weekly challenge.
I hope you will "pop" on over and take a peek
at what the design team has to inspire YOU to join in!

Hello Classy Friends!
Diane here with you today with my card from our newest challenge
"Cozy Plaids" add warm, fall colored plaids to your project.

Nothing says fall like a squirrel scampering around gathering his winter food!
We have lots of squirrels here out in the country where I live
and when I saw this cute Squirrel from Stacey Stamps, I just had to purchase it!

I first stamped the image with Versamark and then heat embossed with
If you were here to see the card "in real life", you would notice a bit of "Sparkle".
And a quick tip is, don't forget to use the "Anti Static" bag before you stamp your image!

I die cut a few "Prima Leaves", one was cut from the beautiful
Classy Fall Card Stock Bundle, using the Mandarin Curious Metallic included in the package.

Next is the most exciting new die I think!!
Using the Orange Iris Shimmer Sheetz, I cut the most fantastic sequins!!
Beverly carries two new sampler package Shimmer Sheetz both Iris and Gemstone.
Just imagine all the colorful sequins you can make with these!!

I did "pop up" the background paper a bit using Joy! Foam Pads Large.

The Design Team at Classy Cards 'n Such would love to see YOUR entry into our challenge.....
don't forget with 7 or more entrants, you have a chance of winning a "fabulous" prize!!!
Hope to see you here!!!

Lots of Layers At The Sisterhood

Now that we are well into "Fall like weather"
I just can't seem to stop making fall color projects....
I love the colors of fall and came up with this "layered" card
for the challenge this week at "The Sisterhood of Crafters"
Dar is our hostess this week and she has asked us to use "lots of layers".

I decided to really dig in my stash of things I had, cut, stamped
and on hand for quite awhile.

The card base is SU Grovvy Quava, covered with a DS paper
from a Prima 2006 pad, time to use it, wouldn't you say?

The "frame" is one that had been around awhile and I framed my
stamped Impression Obsession bird ...

I keep my already stamped images, pieces of die cuts and loose "ephemera"
sorted in clear bags by color...
which made it easy to pull out the flowers and butterfly to match....
the little "ticket" at the bottom says
"very best friends" and is a stamp and punch from SU!
The ribbon is also from SU, and I added a little wooden heart button,
perfect for the Digi Choosday challenge!!

It was fun to use what I already had available as it seems my "stash"
is ever growing!!

Drop on over to The Sisterhood and see what my "sistahs" have to inspire you!!
Why not join in with us, would love to see YOU there!!

I do love the 'vintage" look of Halloween the most....
the old trims, glitter and the "vintage images"....
That's where my wonderful  Crafty Secrets products come in to play.

I printed all my Halloween papers from the
the CD is loaded with designs, making it hard to decide what to use!!

I had 3 paper mache little blocks that I covered with the papers....
I also used a few images from Vintage Scraps Halloween Greetings

After covering the boxes with the papers, using Modge Podge,
I inked all the edges giving it an even more vintage look!!

I had the "BOO" letters in my stash for several years, and they fit
perfectly on each block.
I added a few of my fussy cut images here and there around the blocks.

I got into my Halloween bin and lucky me, the little dollar store skeleton was sitting
right on top...I hot glued him to the top block!!

Fall Color

This is my post live today on the
"Classy Cards n' Such" blog.....
we have a fun challenge going on I hope
you will join in with us...always and awesome prize being offered!

Hello Classy Friends
Diane here with you today and I am in "the mood for fall".
I never want to see summer come to an end,
but I have to admit I do love fall.
In my part of the country when the colors of fall appear it is beautiful!
Which is what inspired me to do a fall card!

I recently received a wonderful order from the  Classy Cards 'n Such shop
and wanted to share of a few of my "new items" with you today.

I started with a Kiwi Kiss green card stock base.
I cut a panel of Ivory card stock and begin stamping
Impression Obsession Harmony In Autumn  across the top portion.
This particular EB folder comes with the matching border like I used.
After embossing, I cut along both long edges and mounted it on the edge of my stamped leaves.

stamped it on ivory card stock, and used my Impression Obsession Leaf Die to cut it out.

I finished my card with a piece of Maya Road ribbon sent to me by one of my
design team teammates (and friend) which happened to be the perfect colors (thanks Mindy)!

it is so full of vintage goodness, I printed several images and papers
as I just couldn't choose!!

I cut my image with a Spellbinders Circle die,
under the image I used a CLD Sophies Heart doily die.....

A "Spook-tac-ular" Scene

Hello Friends......
It is a beautiful day here...sun shining, cooler temps..love it!!
I have bunches of things I should be doing...
but I needed something to get my "mojo" fired up and decided to "hand pick"
a challenge to do....
So many wonderful challenges...so little time!!
I chose the challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs "Things With Wings"
I used to never, ever miss a CLD challenge...
but now it seems I hardly ever get time to enter!

But today is a new day and here I am with my "spooky" Halloween card!
I chose to do something different as I had purchased this awesome die
a long while back and the tree just "screamed" Halloween to me...
and an added bonus is my thing with wings "OWL" that comes with the tree die!!

In getting out my fall/Halloween supplies, I have 11 pads of the 6 x 6 Halloween papers alone...
I would not let myself buy any new until used some of what I had...
Do you think I might have a paper addiction ...I think I do!!

So between the DS paper and my "spooky" tree....
my entire card was "built" around these two!!

The tree was cut with some glitter paper
and a hint is if your glitter paper is a bit thick,...
just peel off some of the backing paper before you run through your cutter,
cuts like a dream that way!!

The spider web in the corner was cut from the same paper
and a hint to glue it down...,
before cutting use a piece of "soowang scor-paper" on the backside of your paper....
Run it through your machine, peel the backing off and it's ready to adhere!!

Recipe for my card:
SU: black card stock
My Mind's Eye Wicked DS paper

"Scare" Up A Little Fun

Hey "Ya'all" are you thinking "FALL" yet??
I know today I am, it is cool here and kind of wet.....
makes one want to get the long johns and flannels..out...lol!!

It also put me in a "creative fall" mood!
Being I had a DT project due for "Dies R Us"
that just happens to be "Fall Festival"
it all seemed to come together well for me.

I am ever trying to find other uses for my dies then they were intended....
just makes me feel better about spending so much on my "craft" addiction...lol..

So, all that being said, I came up with this "Pinterest" inspired scarecrow card!

The dies I used for my scarecrow are:

The DS papers used are from SU and my "scrap pile"!!

Natures Window

Hi All....this is my post on
today for our current challenge..I hope you will join in with us!!

Hello Classy Friends, Diane here today with my
latest project for this weeks challenge which is "Santa's Reindeer"
Using the photo below for inspiration, I chose to make "window scene.

I started out with  Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight die
and using not the beautiful die cut, but the negative for my "window"!
I will save the other piece for a later project.

I stamped Stacy Stamps "The Woods" pine trees in 2 different green inks
on a piece of white card stock and then used Joy Foam Pads Small
to attach it to the window frame.

I die cut Memory Box Deer Trio, and then stamped Versamark on
using the colors Aged Gold for the large deer and Shabby White for the fawn.
Did you know you can sprinkle Frantage on your project without any
kind of adhesive, and move it around where you want with your finger,
then heat set it from below??  Just a little tip on using this product!

I did add a bit of Clear Rock Candy Stickles to my trees for sparkle
and a bow to finish it off.....

I invite you to join us in our challenge this week...
we would love to see YOUR Project!!

Autumn Bliss at The Shabby Tea Room

Hello my Shabby Tea Room Friends.....
Today at "The Shabby Tea Room" is our first "bi-weekly" post....
The Shabby Tea Room, starting this week is moving our challenges to the
"first" and "third" Monday of each month...
giving you more time to enter our challenges and twice the chance to win a prize....
We will giving "TWO" prizes each challenge!!

This challenge is all about "Autumn Bliss".....
using the inspiration photo, we ask that you include a "pumpkin".

Our TWO sponsors this week are Bugaboo Digi Stamps

 and

For my first card using Bugaboo, I chose "Pumpkin Patch"
I printed the digital stamp 3 times on scraps of paper so I could paper piece my pumpkins.

I actually did some stitching on this card...
and luckily with the first few stitches, my bobbin broke...
I say lucky because "dumb" me had my entire card under the needle
and I now have a few tiny holes inside my card....
I almost stitched the entire thing closed...lol

I added some pompom trim and a bow made out of a ribbon scrap....
my spooky fence line is from a Spellbinders die I won a few years back...
I coated the crows and kitties with glitter!

For my second card, using By Digital Paper from Janet on Etsy,
I chose "Halloween Postcard" collage sheet.

I love how this card came together with the adorable vintage image postcard!
Underneath I added a large Rosette I had made for something else...
I had to use it as it just seemed to be perfect for it!!
Under that , just peeking out is a Cheery Lynn die,,,,,
The kitty had already been cut from glitter from my stash...

the ribbon is some I recently picked up from Michaels which I added a pumpkin button to
the little sequins at the top  I made...yes really with a My Favorites Thing die
and using Shimmer Sheetz paper...they look just like the real thing!!
I did use my Zutter DIA for my background paper
and added glitter (Stickles) to my image!!

Now, it's YOUR turn to head on over the "The Shabby Tea Room"
and see what the Design Team Shabby Girls have for you...Wow...You won't want to miss it!
And heck, why not join in this week...we have 2 "fabulous" prizes!!!
