Signs of Summer Challenge

Time for a new challenge at Double D
and the theme is Signs of Summer
with the inspiration mood board below.

This is sure to be a fun challenge as the signs of summer are endless!

I once again used the mood board as inspiration
letting the top left corner tile inspire ME!

I created my own background using the ship lap builder die from The Greetery.
I think this is must have die for every card maker, so fun and so very useful.
I created several of these backgrounds last summer and this is one of them
using TH Iced Spruce Distress Ink.
It reminded me of the picture in the above mood board.

I also used a never before used die from my stash from Cheapo Dies
Daddy's Fishing Buddy.  At the writing of this post this die was still
available but just so you know all Cheapo dies are being discontinued sad to say.

I used a scrap of  a background paper for the fish I had made
previously as  wanted the look
of a rainbow trout, it worked perfectly!

To see more summery creations by the Design Team,
make sure to visit our Double D challenge,
we always have a cool prize up for grabs!!

This is wonderful Diane! I think I need this die. It makes a great background for your colorful fish. Great inspiration here!

Yes, I agree that the background of your card looks just like the mood board. I love that you did the sentiment in blue as it accents the wood look. The addition of the fishing pole is all that is needed.

I've been trying to make myself not buy the shiplap die. You're not helping. Love how you aged it with the ink. I have to agree about how perfect your fish is with the colors from the background scrap. Cute!

Fun card! This would be perfect for Father's Day. Love that ship lap die cut...in my stash too. Your rainbow fish (trout?)and blue sentiment really pop on the gray background.

Gorgeous card, that shiplap die makes a wonderful background. I must confess, you and Darlene enabled me to purchase it a while back and I have yet to use it (hangs head in shame). Well, at least I have it here when the time comes! I'd be more guilt-ridden if it wasn't in a long line behind many other never-useds hahaha! xoxo
