Christmas Tags

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, well sort of..lol...
I have been making Christmas tags for special people
and have a few to show you using the new
This is available in a stamp set or the digital version as I have used.

These images have a lot of pretty details,
so I printed them out in nice bigger size,
which would be perfect for gift bag 'tie on's'!

Once printed I die cut the snowman image with
Spellbinders Circle Delight
and the snowflakes with Spellbinders Majestic Circles.
I also cut 2 plain circles to use on the backs of the images
once I had colored them with my copics.
You know how the copics bleed through.

For the Snowman tag
I used Sunset glitter for the broom,
Black Ice glitter for the Top Hat,
Enlightened Blue glitter for the bow tie.
Gypsy Red Velvet glitter for the bird.
All the glitter was applied using the Nuvo Glue Pen small.
A Silver Mon Ami Ribbon 1/8" was added for the tie on.

The snowflake tie on, I simply used the Nuvo Glue Pen Small
to apply the Fascination glitter around the edge and also on the snowflakes.
A  silver Mon Ami Ribbon 1/8" was added for the tie on.

I printed several of these to make a few more
as these were super simple to make,
yet look so pretty on a package!

So, I am headed out to a walk/run for a fundraiser for my grandson
and it is about 27 degrees here...brrrrr...
and my Chicago trip was, well interesting..LOL!

I will have my next Sparkle N Sprinkle post on the 20th...see ya!!

Festive Lantern

So far we are having beautiful weather here in Michigan,.
The leaves are for the most part off the trees
and it is hard to believe that Christmas will fast be approaching!
I am on a train bound for Chicago today to see the Macey's
Christmas tree and a bit of fun shopping
with a group of very 'rowdy' (lol) girls!!
I hope this 'old 'lady can keep up the pace with them!!

We had beautiful stamps released this month at
Sparkle N Sprinkle and they are all about that
fast approaching Christmas!

The stamp I used for today is the new
I stamped the Poinsettia image with Versamark
then embossed with Irish Spring embossing powder.
I colored the image with Copics, added a bit of Brushable Glue,
sprinkled with Gypsy Red Velvet glitter, then fussy cut it out.
Nuvo Crystal Drops Dandelion Yellow was applied to each flower center.

I also stamped the  lantern with Versamark
and used a very beautiful thick embossing powder called
I love how it gave the lantern a 'metallic' look.
The lantern candle was embossed with Red Apple embossing powder,
the flame colored with Copics,
then fussy cut out.

I used two embossing folders for the lantern to sit on
The first one is from Elizabeth Designs Spring Leaves
and the other one is Marianne Designs Anja (I think).

For under the Poinsettia spray,
I die cut leaves and greens using
Cheery Lynn Designs Build a Flower 2 and Wreath Strip.
applied Brushable Glue and Lady Luck Glittter

I hope you have enjoyed my post today
and be sure and come back tomorrow
for another new Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp post!

Up Up and Away Challenge

The challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters
is Up, Up and Away and being hosted by our 'sistah' Vickie.

Well instead of using the basic bird/butterfly I went with
a hot air balloon I found while cleaning out some of my supplies.
Actually I found about 3 or 4 different ones of these
and had fun putting it together.

I love the 'nothing but blue skies' label I added,
and wish I had a stamp that said
'wishing you' as I would of stamped it above it,
but maybe I can write that on the inside!.

I found the cute little felt clouds and felt star
in a drawer of 'goodies'
and added those as well.

The cloud embossing folder is one from SU I had purchased eons ago!

So why not pop on over to
The Sisterhood and see what my 'sishahs'
have created to inspire YOU to join in with us!

Gable Box

Today at
all the designers come together and show off our projects
and today we have the
to show you.

It is so fun to see everyone's take on it.

I made mine out of 2 sheets of Christmas papers
(oh the box comes in 2 sizes, the one I am showing,
which is the bigger size with a window, or a smaller one without a window.)

I messed mine up a little, as I was putting it together,
I dropped it in my lap and I had scor tape on it
and you know how once that sticks it sticks..LOL!
Otherwise it would of been perfect!!

I die cut a few little skates
and used some 'sweater' ribbon I have had forever it seems
and filled it with jelly Christmas bells
(there would of been more, but I ate a few in the process..lol!

So pop on over this afternoon to
The Cutting Cafe blog and see all the different take son this adorable Gable Box!

Winter Blue Jay Shaker Card

This is my post on the
Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today

Hello, Diane with you today with a fun and very easy
shaker card and few tips to make it easy for you!

Winter Blue Jay

I first colored the Winter Blue Jay image with Copics.
It was then fussy cut out (very easy)
I cut a 5" square card base, then with removable tape,
I placed a Spellbinders Circle die on the card base and
the image so as I could see where I wanted to cut my opening.

Winter Blue Jay A

I used a We R Memory Keepers embossing folder
for the outside for a bit of texture.
Once cut, I adhered a piece of Heartfelt clear card stock
then cut strips of foam to place around the circle.
(A tip is to peel off the protective coating on both sides,
which makes the tape much easier to maneuver.

Winter Blue Jay B

Once you have tape all around your cutout,
(Make sure there are no openings in the circle)
add whatever you want for the shaker part.
I added little gold seed beads for this card.
Cut a piece of backing to cover up your opening and adhere.
I used a Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder on my back covering
before I adhered it

Winter Blue Jay C

A bit of Parisian Mist glitter was added to the leaves.

Winter Blue Jay D

Using Denim Velvet glitter, I added a bit to the bird feathers.

Winter Blue Jay F

I finished by adding 1/4" Tear-ific Tape to the outer edges
and then used my 'finger' tool to add the Aztec Gold glitter.
I stamped the sentiment with Versamark, then embossed with
Gold Detail Fine glitter.
Once again, here is the finished shaker card.

Winter Blue Jay

Harvest Blessings ~ Give Thanks

The challenge at
Double D is
Harvest Blessings/Give Thanks
being hosted by Team Diane
and using the mood board for inspiration.

I love this mood board (BIG pat on back..LOL)

I did a very simple and I mean simple card.

For my birthday, one of the cards I received had a
crimped protective covering over it
which gave me the idea to use the same for the texture of my card.

I was determined to use my poor  and very neglected 'crimper'
which I did, but however, it took me an hour to find where I
had put it..lol!

I started out by spritzing a snippet of brown card stock
with Tattered Angels Gold Glimmer Mist,
which to my dismay has all but evaporated
(not on the paper, I mean in the bottle, it is almost empty and it was a FULL bottle)... ugh!

I die cut a never before used Poppystamp die Grendon Wreath.
It not only cuts the wreath with the acorn,
but a 3pc acorn as well,
my acorn is covered with glitter-y goodness.

The sentiment was cut once from a metallic gold and a
second time from the same spritzed card stock.
It is the same die that is the prize at the
Double D challenge.

So pop on over to the
Double D challenge blog and join in..
The DT has once again outdone themselves
with fabulous inspiration!!

Coffee Time

Thought I would find a challenge and see if I could join in!
I looked at my challenge list and decided to go
with the first one on the list.
It just happened to be
and the theme is "MONSTER"..lol!

Now about a year or so back
I purchased this cute little monster stamp
from Joann's online.
It is so cute and I am sure I look like this
before MY coffee..lol!

To keep it CAS, I stenciled a background
using a newly purchased Distress ink
'carved pumpkin',
kind of a perfect name for this time of year
don't you think?

He was colored with my Copic markers.

Keeping this short as I have had migraine headaches the last 3 days
and I am headed off to bed!!

Don't forget to look at my previous post,
do the Sparkle N Sprinkle hop,
leave comments on all the DT blogs
and one lucky person will win the entire November release
and it could be YOU!
Hurry it ends on the 3rd!
