Hoop Hoop Hooray!!

Welcome to the first Monday in January!
The first Monday of every month brings us to a NEW
What is a Crafty Secrets Linky Party?
Well, it is where all the fabulous Crafty Secret Design Team Members
get together on the Crafty Secrets blog, each showcasing a project,
and by visiting each blog you can see a tutorial for the project shown!!
But wait, that's not all, it also is time for the Crafty Secrets linky party challenge!!
Everyone that enters receives an image (available right now to use)
AND one winner will receive the entire Bedtime Kids Jumbo digital stamp set!!!

This month for our January Linky Party
we are having a "Pajama Party/Winter theme!

For my tutorial I made adorable little "hooped" wall hangings.
I am "somewhat" going to show/help you to "hoop" paper!

First you will want to find yourself a few small hoops, these can be purchased
at any discount/craft/fabric store at a very small price!  I actually picked mine
up at garage sales last summer (I am always looking for things to alter)!
I used two different sized small hoops for mine.

Print and color the images you want to hoop, just make sure you have enough
"space" left to be able to fit in your hoop.

It is a bit tricky to hoop paper, but with patience, it can be done!
I find a nice double sided paper works best, but for my project I used a lighter
weight white card stock.

You will want to loosen your hoop up as much as you can, placing the "inside hoop piece
under your paper, lay the "outer" hoop piece over the top and start to lightly press down.
Once you have somewhat of an impression on your paper, take it back out and trim
around it a bit to get rid of some of the excess paper, this makes it much easier to
work in the hoop.

Place back in the hoop and slightly start to press it in until the outer hoop fits over the entire piece.
You might have a crease in it to get it to fit, just try and have the crease at the top
of the piece where it is tightened together, that way it can be covered up with a bow.

I added scor-tape around the outer edges of mine, and then a ruffled ribbon.
Of course if preferred, you could always "paint" your hoop in any color you want
BEFORE hooping.  I went the easy way and just added ribbon trim!

There you go, now finish it up with any "do-dads" you want...I think this would make a cute
decoration for a young girls room.  I have a couple of these "hoops" decorating my own
art room and just love them!!

"Now, go visit the rest of the design team blogs below and be sure to leave them some love. Then, link up your own Crafty Secrets project on the BLOG and you could win the entire Bedtime Kids Stamp Set! We’ve loaded a free image from the set into this month’s Linky Party post as our way of thanking you for playing along. You can download the image and use it in your Linky Party project, or use one of the FREE PRINTABLES found on the blog page. The rules are simple: Just create a NEW project featuring Crafty Secrets, and link it up on the Crafty Secrets blog before midnight Pacific Time on Sunday, January 18th. "

I just love these! I had actually thought of doing something with an embroidery hoop, but then I found the clip board while cleaning out the Closet of Shame...and there you go! This is so sweet, precious and beautifully composed. Great tutorial, too! I love the ribbons you chose to work with, too, Diane. Just delightful! Thanks for all the love and artistry you pour into everything you create!

Thankyou thankyou thankyou Diane! You will see why in Feb. Linky Party!!! That was a fabulous tutorial and your project is just as fabulous. I love these dainty and feminine hoops. I could see all three hoops hanging in descending order on a pink ribbon with a beautiful big bow at the top in my grand nieces room. I am always inspired by your projects.
