Fall Birthday

It has been a rough week for this grandma around here.
If you read a previous post you saw that we were
headed out for a little 'mini' vacation to see the colors in
northern Michigan.
We had no sooner arrived then I received a phone call
that my grandson Caiden (15) was seriously injured in an ATV accident
so we had to head right back home.
We spent 11 hours on the road that day.

He is in ICU for the next 7 days with a broken back in 2 places
and was airlifted to a hospital in Indianapolis.
We then drove there to be with him.
He had a 3 1/2 surgery and now it is just a waiting game to see how he improves.
I have to say though that everyday since Friday has been a progress.

So, I needed something to get my thoughts collected
and what better way then to create.

I made a very CAS fall birthday card using some of the
leftover 'snippets' of the watercolor paper using the Nuance powders and water.
I love how these leaves turned out, such pretty colors.

The leaves were cut with the 'large' Impression Obsession leaf dies
then popped up along the side.

The background is just simply a scrap of paper
that I embossed with a Happy Birthday Cuttlebug embossing folder.

A piece of orange hemp cord was added.

Like I said very simple but so pretty!

Entering the following challenges:
Impression Obsession .... Fall Birthday (x)
Pixie's Snippets Playground .... Snippets (x)
CAS Watercolor Challenge ...Autumn (x)

Hi Diane. I'm so sorry to hear about your grandson's accident. It sounds as though everything is progressing as best as it can for this very tragic event. Sending thoughts of healing to your grandson and your family.

Hopefully you were able to give yourself a small mental break from the worry while creating this beautiful card. It's really lovely with those pretty autumn leaves. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

What a turn around to your weekend. Hopefully Caiden will continue to heal, sounds like that will be the case, but will be praying non-the-less. Sometimes crafting is the therapy that we all need, this card is gorgeous, simple and delicate at the same time. Great job Diane.

Oh, Diane, that's so frightening for the whole family. Those ATVs... we have a lot of accidents with them here on the sand dunes. I'm glad to hear he's making progress, and I hope it continues to a full recovery. Stamping is good therapy for the worrier. I love a CAS card, and this one is a beauty!

Fabulous card Diane, just perfect Fall leaves.

And you never said squeak about Caiden in our recent exchange of emails so this doubly shook me. I hope he makes a full recovery and that each day gets easier for all of you. Such a worrying time.

Hugs
