Stained Glass Vellum

A bit more of my stained glass dies and coloring on vellum.
The die is a Tutti Designs 'Winter Tree Stained Glass'

I thought this card might be great for a 'guy',
good colors and not too fancy,
even though there is a bow, it's kind of manly being 'hemp' cord..lol!

Same technique as I have mentioned before,
adding Ken Oliver 'Stick It'
to the back of my black card stock,
running through my machine, then sticking on the vellum
and carefully trimming around,
flipping to the back side and coloring with copics!

I added a few layers underneath, the hemp bow and button!

Flowers and Friendship

This is my post on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today.

Hi, are you all full of turkey and ready to relax?
Well, Diane here today and I have just the perfect thing for you to
relax and enjoy!
One of the newly released  November stamps sets is
A gorgeous stamp set with just a hint of color to complete.

I decided to make a 'twisted easel' card.
Cut a piece of card stock to 5" x 10" and score in half.

Next score from top right corner to bottom left corner.
Now you have your easel to decorate as you want!
I cut a second from panel for mine and embossed with a
basket weave embossing folder,
then applied Nuvo Embossing Mousse Spring Green to the bottom portion.

I stamped my image on a Spellbinders die
with Nuvo Hybrid Ink Acorn Brown, then colored very lightly with Copics.
I used a Stardust Gelly Roll Pen to add a bit of sparkle in the flower center.

For the inside I applied Sticker Paper to card stock,
then using a Sue Wilson New Zealand Wellington die,
I die cut it out, removed the paper to expose the sticker paper
and sprinkled with Mountain Mint glitter...so pretty!
Using Versamark ink, I stamped the sentiment
and embossed with Black Fine Detail embossing powder.

Here is the card laying flat to mail.

Thank you for visiting with me today.

Be Merry and Bright

A little pink, a little silver, may your days be merry and bright
is what this card is all about.

The last release for Tutti Designs was all stained glass.
I designed 3 cards for each of the dies in 3 different techniques.
This is one of them using the Poinsettia Stained Glass die.

If you visit my blog often, you know I love coloring on vellum.
Normally I stamp on the vellum with a die ink,
then flip over and color.
But because this was a die, I used a product I have had in my stash
for quite awhile and really love it 'Ken Oliver's Stick It.
You place it on the 'backside' of your card stock,
then run it through your machine and then stick it down where
you want it, this case being the vellum.
Then I simply trimmed along the outside,
flipped it over and colored with my Copics.
I like using the Copics as it gives a nice soft, natural look.
I showed one of the other techniques I used HERE,
using glitter and coloring over it with Copics.
It does not hurt your copics as you press very lightly if at all
as the pen just flows over the glitter ( at least the SNS glitter I used, I am sure other glitters might react differently so always practice first)
and you run your pen across
scrap paper before you put it away!

I also added a bit of
Nuvo Crystal Glitter Drops Silver Moondust
to the flower centers.

Give Thanks

Today is a new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters
and is being hosted by our lovely 'sistah'  Vickie
and she has chosen the theme of
'Give Thanks'.

One of the things I love about being on 'this team'
is we can use anything/any product we want
which gives me plenty of opportunity to use my
very neglected stamps!

I love using up scrap and even have a Pinterest board
just of cards with scraps....
so we can say this card was 'Pinterest' inspired!

When I make a card, I usually have a small strip of paper left
and I just bag them all up for this very purpose.
This is where those 6 scraps you see came from
making a pretty 'scrappy' background!

I layered 2 of the Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Rectangles,
stamping on the top one.
The stamp set I used is a very  old one from SU 'Falling Leaves'.
I stamped the leaves and sentiment with
SU So Saffron~Dusty Durango~Old Olive.

So head on over to The Sisterhood and see what fabulous creations
my 'sistah's have made.

Poinsettia Tissue Box Cover

Do you have a hard time finding a gift for someone that is 90?
I mean just what do they need at 90, like my Mom,
she has everything she could possibly use,
and most of the time whatever you give her,
about 3 months later she gives it back to you...lol.

So I try to buy practical.
One of the things she uses is tissues,
so what better gift then a pretty tissue box cover?

So, how very perfect that our 'assignment' at

I made my box with a pretty 12 x 12 piece of paper
on my Cricut Explore.
(But did you know that each cut file comes with a PDF file as well?
Perfect if you don't have a cutting machine!)
The paper I used is called Merry and Bright by BoBunny.

I decorated it with a handmade Poinsettia
using a   Cheery Lynn Designs die.
I think she will like it!
Or if she returns it to me in 3 months,
then I will have a pretty tissue box cover...lol!

Make sure to stop by The Cutting Cafe blog on the afternoon
of the 21st (today)to see ALL the different tissue boxes by the Design Team.
Each one is so unique and different and of course amazing!
Plus, just by leaving a comment there, you could win 3 cut files of your own!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas

This is my post at the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today.

Hi my 'Merry' friends!
Diane with you today using a cute stamp set
that would be not only perfect for the Holidays but also
for a friends winter birthday or anniversary!

I am using a digital from the newly released stamps for November
'Snowman Couple Christmas'

I printed out the image in the size I wanted
then begin coloring the snowmen bodies with
 Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss.

It was very easy to do and really gave the snowmen a lot of shine.

The snowmen were then colored in with Copics.
I 'scribbled'  Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive on the bottom
and added  Shaved Ice glitter for the snow.
I also outlined various parts f the image with a
Gelly Roll Stardust Pen, giving even more 'sparkle'.
was added for the snowmen buttons.

I printed the digital sentiment from the set
and used it for the simple easel card I created.
It was adhered to the card with Tear-ific Tape ½”
The background paper is a new product being carried by SNS
and it is gorgeous!
I adhered it to my easel card with Tear-ific Tape 1 1/2"

Here is the finished card closed.

And here it is opened.

Thank you for visiting with me today.

Happy Birthday

Well, gee, most bloggers are posting Christmas and/or Thankful cards,
but not me, I have a great masculine card to post today...lol!

I stamped the background image with a soft gray ink SU Going Gray.
The stamp is a Cover A Card Stamp 'Mesh Circles' from IO.

I embossed a scrap of black card stock with a SU Decor Dots EB folder.

Using a Tutti Designs Trombone cut from
silver glitter paper, it was added to the black dots.

Last, but not least, I stamped a Happy Birthday.
Perfect card for that masculine guy in your life!
Oh, don't forget the sequins...lol!

Nail Polish Marbling

Any of you that 'know me' or follow my blog
knew that my friend 'Dar' was coming from Ohio to
visit with me while the hubs was out of town.

We did many things,
took a train to Chicago (that's a story in itself) but had fun,
went to Amish land in Indiana,
went to an open house for Christmas,
and to another well decorated store to shop in Indiana,
and on Sunday I took her to our mecca shopping area...
we also ate a lot...but I didn't cook too much this time
as I look forward to the break of the hubs not being here to cook for,
but we managed to eat...a lot!

So after all out running around we needed to just relax a bit
and work on some fun crafty things.
We decided to do the nail polish technique,
However, most of my polish was pretty old,
and for this technique you have to 'flick' the polish on water,
but mine was so thick it wouldn't flick fast enough and
the polish would be dry too soon.
We decided to 'dump' it straight out of the bottle
and then used a skewer to move it around.
You have to work very quickly with this technique as the polish dries FAST!

I made 6 panels and this card is from one of them.

I love how on the left it ended up looking like a leaf and flower
and in the middle, love that four color swirl going through.
I added a Tutti Designs Hello die (cut 3 times and stacked).

Here are the other 5 panels I can use later.
You can see the one on the right is the first one I did by 'flicking the polish,
just not a great result.
No two will ever look the same that is for sure!

On another note we caved (after almost 3 years) and got a new puppy.
He is the calmest and sweet pup...yep a HE
and I have never had a male dog, so this will be all new to me.
(I didn't edit any of these pictures)

Here he is snoozing away in my craft room.

Trying out his temporary kennel, which he hates with a passion!

Granddaughter Mena holding him.

We got him on Tuesday (Goldendoodle) and he was 8 weeks yesterday.
His name is Mackinac (Pronounced Mack-in-naw)
and we call him Mack...easy!

So that's it for now, but make sure and visit my friend Dar's blog
as she will have her nail polish card up today too...(kind of planned that way)!!!

Snow Challenge

Happy November 15th....mid month already
and counting down to Christmas...I know 'hush my mouth'...lol
The 15th brings us to a new challenge at
and the theme is 'SNOW'!

Back when I was making Halloween cards I cut quite a few 'moons'
from card stock leaving these nice empty circle panels for future use.
I decided to build my card around one of those panels.

I ran the panel through with a Snowfall embossing folder.
A panel of blue was added behind the circle,
adding birch trees using Impression Obsession Birch Trees.
The little red cardinals are part of the birch tree die set.

I cut three trees using Impression Obsession Evergreen Trees.
Two of the trees were popped at various heights.

The deer were die cut using

Once done I stamped the sentiment using a SU Four The Holidays stamp
in SU Midnight Muse ink.

Here Comes Santa

New challenge today at
Double D challenge blog and is being hosted by Team Darlene.
I decided (as usual) to join in
as the challenge is
'Here Comes Santa'
and who can resist Santa anyhow...right?

We have the beautiful mood board to inspire you to join along with us
and you just have to see ALL the gorgeous Santa cards both teams created...WOW!

I used a stamp I have had for a very long time.
I remember this stamp was so popular and was selling on Ebay
at one time for a crazy amount, only to find it later myself at Michael's
and then even later in the clearance bin at Hobbylobby.
Crazy how sometimes people will pay about anything for something they want,
but not cheap little ole' me, LOL!

I stamped him on vellum  using Sparkle N Sprinkle Silver Detail embossing powder (love this powder as it is fine for such an intricate design)
and then colored on the backside, just giving a hint of color.
I ran 1/4" Tear-ific double sided tape around the outer edges, then added
Sparkle N Sprinke Sparkling Snow glitter.
Using a holly die from Impression Obsession and Berry Red Nuvo crystal drops,
I added it to the corner top.
The die cut snowflake panel was already cut and in my stash
just waiting to be used.
It is from the Memory Box Distressed Snowdrift Collage set.
I stamped the sentiment from Kaisercraft Xmas Quotes set
in a very old Excelsior green ink pad,
(do they even make those anymore?
I am surprised it even works still...lol

So head on over to the Double D Challenge blog and join in with us,
there is a fabulous prize to be won!
