Puddle Ducks

Time for a new challenge at the
Dies R Us challenge blog with the theme of
'SPRINGTIME'!

I created a fun card by first using a Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Oval
on a white card stock, using just the negative to create a
puddle of sorts by sponging Distress Oxide Salty Ocean
on the card stock base under the negative.
I'll save the 'real' die cut for another use.

Using the Tim Holtz stamp platform,
I stamped my sentiment from Stampendous Spring Sentiments set.
I die cut 2 Memory Box Prairie Grass from 2 different green scraps
and off set them together along the puddle.
I also added 3 stems from the set of 5 Sue Wilson Catkins Stems.

I die cut the mamma duck and her babies.
Beaks and feet were colored in with Copics.
Mamma Duck's eye is using a dot of
I also added Sparkle N Sprinkle Sun Dazzle Flocking to the babies,
making them fuzzy just like real baby ducklings.

Rain was added by using The Robin's Nest Tear Drops

Oh this is so adorable!! What a beautiful scene! I know just how they feel having spent a break in wet and rainy Majorca... We had only 2 ducks for company on the terrace!

This is a darling scene, Diane! Love the mother duck with her babies following along! Reminds me of my Canadian geese who live here year round. They had 5 little ones and one day when they were all still fuzzy little things it rained & they were out splashing in the puddles on the sidewalk! We have a huge pond just over the hill and it's always full of ducks & geese all year! So this card really hits home with me!
