Sketch Challenge

Today at Back To Basics and Beyond we have a
sketch challenge using the sketch below.

For my card I reversed/flipped the sketch,
putting my embellishments (trees) on the opposite side.

I used a new (to me) paper pad from Carta Bella called
'Cabin Fever'.
This is one of those paper pads that you can't help but love each and every one!
It is full of some really neat prints that I love!

The stamps I have had a long time and have never been used.
Both are from Memory Box,
stamped in Memento Dew Drop Inks Northern Pine and Desert Sand.
I really wanted to add some white dots to the fawn but none of my
white pens will work, so I tossed them all...
that being said
does anyone have a recommendation for a GOOD working white pen?

I added a bit of stickles and then my embellishments are
two IO pine trees, cut from a green velvet paper.
Funny but the stickles I used is the same for both,
but the upper picked up a teal color from my craft room...
oh well, it is really white!

I hope you will join us for our sketch challenge.

Happy Halloween

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Tomorrow is Halloween...
can you believe it?
Sure seems like October just flew by...

So, in honor of the scariest night of the year,
I have FIVE, (yes five) different Halloween cards to share
using two very fun Tutti Designs dies with you.

The first three cards feature the

I used fun designer papers, and inked a round circle for a moon,
The haunted house itself was cut from a black card stock
for a shadow underneath and a fun print paper.
The little witch is a punch.

The next card was created with scraps of papers that seemed perfect for the

I once again used the
shadow' effect by cutting from black and then again from orange card stocks.
And here is that little witch punch again!

The third Spooky House card was cut from a purple metallic print paper,
giving it a totally different look from the two cards above.
It was adhered to a Tutti Designs Stitched Square.
A pretty Halloween bow/ribbon were added.

The next two cards use the 'Cooking Witch' die,
I thought it the perfect match for the spooky house I am sure she resides in!
I am sure she is cooking up something to go with her pickled bat wings!

Last card using the 'Cooking Witch' die...
simply made cut from black card stock and added some sequins for bubbles
from her cooking pot!

Well, that's it for me for Halloween this year, hope you enjoyed these fun cards...
I'll be back next Tuesday with some awesome Christmas cards..see ya!!

Trick or Treat

These cards were to go on yesterday.....
but I went shopping instead to the Christmas Tree Store.
Do you have one in your area?
I just love this store and went to find some 3 piece fence
for dogs to 'gate' them out...
was hoping to gate Mack away from my Christmas tree this year
when we go away as he is a chronic chewer!
Needless to say they didn't have them in stock,
but I came home with a heap of other things...sigh!

Anyhow on to today's cards....
my last two Halloween cards (other then my Tutti post tomorrow).
So maybe next year I can actually use some of
my many Halloween stamps since this year these have all been dies.

The first card is pretty simple,
an embossed background,
then my die cuts featuring the Tutti Designs Witch Shoe.
I cut that from an orange metallic paper.

The next card I used the Tutti Designs Spider Web Corner die
I added a spooky little spider

That's it for Halloween cards.....and I never mailed a one!

Creepy~Scary~Boo

A spooky window scene today
using some Halloween scrap papers and
Tutti Designs Spiderweb Window.

This was another card I had created for the Tutti Designs store.
The spider was cut from a glitter paper.
I grabbed a few very neglected round punches for my sentiment.
The scrap of spider web paper has a lot of sheen to it
which you can't see in the photo.

I'll be back tomorrow with my last two (finally) Halloween cards
I created for the Tutti store....well except for my Tutti post this coming Tuesday.
then I am moving onto Fall and Christmas....yippee!!

'P' Is For Penguin

This week at the Alphabet Challenge we are to the letter "P"
So our theme is 'P' is for Penguins!

Such a fun theme to work with!

A LONG LONG while back I got a Tonic Studio's
Winter Buddies die.
This die allows you to make not only a Penguin like I did,
but a snowman as well.

The die contains 17 dies, though I counted 18, I think the candy cane is a free one.

There were 31 different little pieces in the making of this cute little guy.
Five for the ear muffs, ten for the body,12 for the skates,
1 for the candy cane and three for the scarf.
Sounds like a lot, but if you pull out all your scrap papers you want to use
and then get all your die cutting done,
then he is pretty easy to construct.
A pair of craft tweezers come in handy too,
as those eyes are very tiny!

I would love for you to visit the Alphabet Challenge blog and see all the
super cute penguins the DT has to inspire you....
join in with us, too!!

Harvest Moon

Back with my Halloween card using Tutti Designs

I die cut a big old moon and sponged it with TH distress inks.
The spooky tree was cut from a designer paper scrap,
then I die cut just the bats from black card stock

Soooo, my friend Nichele (Nicki) Rohacs that owns Crooked Tree Photography
took this picture of our Michigan harvest moon on 10/23 across her corn fields,
she lives just a hop, skip and jump from me...isn't it gorgeous?

......thanks for visiting with me today!!

Snow Place To Go

I have a cute little snowmen card today
I made for the Tutti store
using  'Snowmen Trio'
I have a special place in my heart for snowmen
and one time used to do only a snowman themed tree.

I simply used a few pretty designer papers
and die cut the snowmen from white card stock.
I added 'blush' to their cheeks and
cute little pink pompoms to the hats.

I have drawer full of rub-ons that I seem to forget to use
so when I came across this one I thought it was perfect!.

I hope you enjoyed my card and will be back later today
with another Tutti Designs store sample I made for them,
this time using a Halloween die.

Better Then This?

Darlene is hosting our challenge and she has chosen the theme
'Humorous'.
A fun theme as it is always good to laugh isn't it?

I had just a few what I would call humorous stamps
but decided to use one of my favorites,
an oldie but goodie stamp from Stampabilities 2005 Golden Retriever.

I have always been a snoopy/charlie brown fan plus the fact when buying this stamp
I had a Golden Retriever named Nick.

The glitter frame is one I had pre-cut and never used, I die cut a few leaves
to add here and there, and I used my Fiskers Crimper to add  a crimped strip as well.

Take a peek at The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge blog to see all the humorous
cards my 'sistahs' have created!

Happy Halloween

This is my post on the Tutti Designs Blog today!!

Halloween is just around the corner and Tutti Designs has some fabulous dies
just for that occasion which are sure to 'spook' ya out!

I have 3 cards showcasing the
Gravestone die.

The first card all I needed was a some great designer paper,
a cute Halloween sentiment,
then cut the gravestone die from black
and just the spider from a foil paper.

The second card, I once again used some fun designer papers,
The grave stone was cut from a metallic gray,
then the spider from a silver glitter paper and the crow from black card stock....fun!

The last card I used another fun designer paper, kind of  'spooky'
then die cut the gravestone twice,
once from a print paper and then for a shadow underneath,
I cut from an orange card stock...
and the spider in a silver metallic
(which actually was the left over piece from the card above).

Nothing easier then perfect designer papers and die cuts put together
for fabulous cards!

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Seems we are already on the 'backside' of October.
I didn't get to make any new Halloween cards this year,
but I had a bunch I had created for the Tutti Designs store
and have not posted on my blog yet.
This is one of those cards using
Tutti Designs Spiderweb Window.

This is one of those dies that doesn't need much more with it but
some fun background papers.

The window was die cut from black card stock,
then I just cut the spider portion from a silver glitter paper.
Simple but fun!

If you stop back tomorrow, I will have three cards
on the Tutti Designs Blog that are also Halloween fun!

Sympathy Card

On the SNS blog today is my post below.
You can see it HERE
Scroll on down for some news about me deciding to step down from the team.

Hi, Diane with you today with a classy but easy to create Sympathy card
using the newly released stamp set

Supplies :
Embossing Powder Silver Detail EP257
OtherVersamark VM001
Misc.:  Ribbon, button
Embossing folder, Spellbinders die

I embossed a card stock panel
then using Nuvo blending sponges
sponged on Nuvo Embellishement Mousse Pure Platinum.
You can see I didn't sponge the middle as I new it would be covered with my die cut.

I die cut a pretty oval, large enough for the sentiment to fit on,
stamped with Versamark and embossed with Silver Detail embossing powder.

A pretty silver ribbon and button were added to finish!

Now for a bit of sad news.
Due to some family health issues,
and the need to spend more time with a family member
I decided I needed to step down
as a designer for SNS.
It was a very hard decision as I have enjoyed my 3 year journey
with Sparkle N Sprinkle and all their wonderful
Stamp sets, glitter, embossing powders and other fabulous products,
which I will continue using, a lot!
I will miss my SNS design friends as well,
but I sure will be visiting to see what is new and exciting on their blog posts.
Thank you SNS for letting me a part of your world!

(after the writing/scheduling of this post,
my Mom lost her battle with Stage 4 breast cancer
she is dearly missed, but I was able to be with her everyday and at her side when she passed and for that I am grateful)

Rock On

I have boxes of cards I haven't posted yet and this is one of them....
a fun card perfect for the man or boy in your life!

I used some fun papers, dies and a rock n roll EB folder to make this card.

The Tutti Designs Acoustic Guitar for this card,
cutting it from brown and then off setting the teal on top...
I like the shadow effect on dies.

I added a little gem and a computer generated sentiment to finish.

I am in the process of  cleaning (digging) out my creative room today....
need to let go of some of the overflow of  'stuff',
but decided to take a much needed break and write up this post.

Boo

I was thinking I needed some 'new' shoes.
How about these, what do you think, pretty fancy right?
Funny thing is I do need new shoes but don't think these will quite do lol!

When I was designing samples for the Tutti Designs store
this is one I created and never posted.
It used the Witch Shoe die cut from a black glitter paper.

I added the chipboard bat and the banner from my stash.
Just a quick post today for fun....I will be showing more of these
sample cards this month both here and at Tutti Designs blog on Tuesdays.

Plant Smiles

Time for a new challenge theme at
and this time the theme is to use
stencils or masks...FUN!!

I have lots of stencils to work with
but chose this cute, small one from Memory Box
called Florina.
It was simple enough just by using some Distress Inks
and a sponge.

I first tried to 'frame it' but none of my frames seemed to fit 'just right'
so in the end I used an oval die to die cut it
and actually like the result.

I used an embossing folder that fit pretty good with the oval
and a sentiment from Elizabeth Crafts
stamped with Dew Drop ink Lulu Lavender.

Take a peek over at Back To Basics and Beyond
and join us with some stenciling of your own...
we would love to see your creations!

Flying Witch

This is my post on the
Tutti Designs blog today.

Halloween is getting closer and closer and it's time
to purchase those fun Halloween dies!

Today I have a couple of cards using the fun
'Flying Witch' die.

Just by adding a few  little details like I did
to this card below, you can have a quick and easy card to mail.

The flying witch was cut from a plaid paper,
I added a cute little glitter cat
on the end of her broom,
I think he is giving her directions of where to go
what do you think?

The next card has a bit more of a 'vintage' look to it.
I once again added a cat to the broom.
This one looks like the witch and the kitty are having a discussion!
(The little cat I used is a punch)
