May's Birth Flower and Birthstone

Hello Double D friends our new challenge theme is
May's Birth Flowers
(Lily of the Valley and Hawthorn)
and Birthstone is Emerald
Be inspired by any of the three

My Mom's birthday was May 6th and had she still be with us she would of
celebrated her 98th birthday this year, God rest her soul!
I have always loved lily of the valley and grow them in a great area
that they are allowed to spread, and the neat thing is the start I was given of them
was from my hubby's grandmother's garden making them even more special.
I used to have pink ones as well but we plowed that garden under last year
though hopefully I think I transplanted some.

Anyhow, back to the card.  I had this small stack of paper doilies
sitting around and have been using them up and I believe this is the last of them.
A perfect place for my Tutti Designs Lily of The Valley to 'rest' on.
After die cutting , I colored them in with Olo markers.
A Lawn Fawn sentiment was added and I had a quick card done!

Come and join our fun at Double D and check out all the
beautiful inspiration from the DT, it always amazes!!

Simply gorgeous Diane! A great use of that pretty doily. It frames the lily of the valley just perfectly.

That paper doily is a perfect background for your lily of the valley. This gives it that old-fashioned feel and look. I liked reminiscing with you about the lilies that were given to you from your grandmother's garden. I remembered the first house we bought had lilies of the valleys planted along the side of the house. Nice memories!

This is gorgeous! Truly the star are those beautiful LOTV! That doily is such a fabulous backdrop too as it makes me think of Grandmothers. I have a ton of these that were my Hubby's Grandmothers too, how FAB for us both! Such a pretty card! (my Mom's birthday was on May 12th--would have been 95--happy birthday to our gals xoxo)

Gosh, it is a quick card, but so, so pretty! I have a couple of those doilies left, also. Love the shade of spring green. I know your garden must be a sight to see with all the lily of the valley scattered through, and especially sweet that it came from your hubby's grandma!

This is such a lovely card. My Grammie's birthday was in May as well, and she always had a huge bunch of them in a vase on her dining room table. Every time I see the flower I think of her - so fragrant. I love your creation, it's so sweet.

So delightful, Diane! The delicate doily is the perfect background for those dainty Lily of the Valley. A favorite of mine and in my flower bed too. Our DGD's birthday is May 6th! A special day for both of us. That TD flower die is in my stash too. Thanks for sharing with us at A Cut Above's May Challenge too!
