I made this tag for the challenge at Joan's Gardens.....it will be for my Mom for her birthday in May...she loves pansies........I used a few different "fibers' for this one....I had a tiny piece of mesh I used, some tinsel fiber, a glitter button...a bit of a paper doily....the lace at the bottom I dyed with my grape jelly ink...I added a bit of black stickles for the pansy veins........the challenge is to make any kind of tag you want...I am getting a nice selection of tags...one of these days I am going to work on Christmas tags just to get ahead!

~~~Going Green~~~
Fooled ya...bet you thought you were going to see a St Patty's Day project...didn't you?? Nope, not yet.....I made this tag for the Tag Challenge at Joan's Gardens.......it was any kind of tag you wanted, Joan made a tag from "trash" as she calls it...its a beauty......all the tags are voted on, the one with the most votes wins a badge for your blog......but that's a hard call, as I have "never met a tag" I didn't like yet!
I made this tag for a friend that will be moving away soon...so sad...sigh.....the base is a HEAVY coffee stain and yep, even baked in the oven....wish you could smell it, it smells heavenly!! I have a mini "coffee" album planned and have been saving bits and pieces of things to use, so that is why I have the Folgers Coffee piece...isn't it neat...recycle......and the Coffee tastes better with a friend......well that is stamped on a paint sample card I brought home to see if it matched the stain glass sunflowers on my front door...recycle......see the ribbon......my sister sprayed some old vintage seam binding this wonderful coffee color...it came on a gift this year from her for Christmas...recycle.......the satin ribbon tied with it.....also vintage...also recycled......the stamps I used for the cup and the sentiment are from Flourishes...now go make a tag...you know you want to!!Tuesday, December 7, 2010
Flourishes Winter White Challenge and More!!
I haven't had much time to be creative lately....but it's snowing like crazy here...has been for days...so when I saw the Flourishes Winter White Challenge...I said...why not?.........now I have to admit this is not at all what I had planned to do, but I think I will do my original idea a bit later......I just received this TH EB folder in my countdown to Christmas gifts, so out "he" came.......the bunny is actually a Flourishes Easter stamp that was with a little chick, but I taped the chick off and made a "Snow Bunny"......pretty much all white......click on the card for better detail...I used stickles all around the sentiment and onthe bunny........next are a few more of my "scrap" tags.....
Now to the countdown to Christmas day 6 and 7....the white spray mist was day 6 and the acrylic little mini album was day 7...now won't these be fun to use after the holidays!!!!
The next picture is of 3 of my kitties trying to snuggle up and keep warm....the one on the pillow...well that is her pillow she sleeps on all the time...the other two are sleeping somewhat on an old chenille spread I put down for them.....spoiled babies!!!!
Countdown To Christmas Day 3~4~5 ~More Tags & A Card
I have 3 more of my countdown to Christmas gifts I received......have to say, this has been so much fun!!! Day 3 was a wonderful set of glitter buttons...I almost used one, but decided to "hoarde" them a bit longer.....Day 4 was a beautiful flip note pad (you will see one of them on a card later this week) and Day 5 (today) are these Stardust glitter pens......I can hardly keep myself from opening another one!!
I made more tags......I saw a couple of these somewhere, but can't remember where, a few are from the Dec Stampin Sucesss, and the rest I cut with my Cricut and went from there.....tags are so relaxing to make, as anything works.......
the card I saw a similar one SCS, but she used several stamped trees...I changed it a bit, and honestly made 5 of these in 10 minutes!!! I have added stickles to the tree and it really sparkles like glistening snow...you can click on it for better detail!
Countdown To Christmas Day 1 & 2~& More Quick Tags
My sister and I got our heads together (that's scarey...lol) and came up with the "bright" idea to do a countdown to Christmas for each other and our daughters using only products for card making and scrapbooking........I purchased 25 gifts for my sister and 25 for my niece.....she purchased 25 for "me" and 25 for my daughter.........and then we also each bought 12 gifts for my Mom...though those were just whatever we wanted........yesterday was the "1st" day and I received a bottle of "Lipstick Worn Stickles"....and look at my haul today...the Tim Holtz embossing folders...woowho!!! I can hardly wait until tomorrow, and will post my goodies each day! Come back tomorrow and see what I got!
The little tags were just 3 more I made in about 20 minutes....so much more "special" in real life....they all have "pop" ups, which ya can't see in the pics..................so glad to be creating again, even if its only little tags like these!!!Tuesday, November 30, 2010
The Beginning of Tag Making
After all the "hoop-la" of my big craft show....I finally got to work on "paper" again........I have seen some beautiful projects out here in blogland, and this is not one of them...LOL....but its a start!! I had this little "frame" with these snowmen from years ago of when I first started scrapbooking...you remember the ones, where you punch out the center and your photo goes in....in cleaning out and digging thru all my stuff I made a mess with, I found this and decided after 10 years or so I should use it up......so this is where these little creations came from...hey its a start......I still need to get my creative room back in order...and I am so NOT wanting to take time to do it...ugh!!
I make all my own tags now for Christmas....I love making them....though in Christmas shopping yesterday, I noticed there are some beautiful store tags out there, too...but I resisted!!!!!
Vintage Prim Halloween Tag
Love the different cuts my Cricut can make....made the base of this tag with a cut from the Flourish cartridge...the cardstock is SU cajun craze....a wonderful "vintage" color! The flower was made with some Jenni Bowlin Crepe paper ribbon I bought last year...tags are one of my favorite things to make!!!
Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas Day 3 (for me)
I think this tag has been my favorite of the ones I have done so far, maybe because I had most of what I needed to complete it...so here is my take on it...you can see Tim's here ....the santa's little tag says "happy holidays" and the tree one says "blessings".........come back later for another post...I am on a roll!!!
Woowho 2nd Post Today! Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas Day 1 for ME!!
I finally finished my Tim Holtz tag for day one...I have to admit I messed it up several times by not having the correct products......but at least its done! I have 2 more in progress and he is on Day 9 already...hope I can catch up, and I am trying to do a few more challenges, too...busy~busy! Look at the post below I posted this morning for more of my tags~general ones I did for a challenge!!!
Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger Challenge
Pottery Barn Platter
My Take On The Challenge
I love to do challenges and haven't had much time lately, but I subscribe to "Cammie's blog and saw she had a challenge posted at Moxie Fab World and decided to give it a try! She based the challenge on a platter she saw in a Pottery Barn Catalog....I decided to go a bit "outside of the box" so to speak and do tags, as I need LOTS of tags.....I used my Cricut and the new Winter Woodland cartridge. Kind of like how they turned out!!
I am currantly working on the Tim Holtz 12 days of tags...none are finished...but will post them as soon as I get them done! He does some amazing work.
On another note, I went to "M's" yesterday and they had their wrapping paper 50% off...now I don't need to buy paper for at least 10 years I am sure, but this roll called to me..it has birdies all over it, like some of my stamps...and it was in the colors of Rich Razzleberry, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Coral Cameo, Groovy Guava, Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip...now that opens up an entire new line of tags for me to make...see how my mind thinks...honestly, that is the main reason I bought this paper....a small picture of it for you...go get some!!
More Tags~&~A Mickey Mailbox
I have been so on the go this past week that I have had no time to "create"....I got up very early this morning and popped my new CC in my C and began cutting away......the new C is Very Merry Tags that I just found at a local store...........The cuts are very detailed...and the deer is so neat, as you get the actual deer to use on another tag or project like I did...........I added some Stickles to the tree tag for a bit of bling......these are just my first projects with this cartridge and I am sure they can be "fancied" up alot more...but I was so excited to get this and had to share my "first" creations!
It has a been a busy week with my two granddaughters.....Mariah went out for Miss Niles...she didn't place, but she looked so beautiful....heck its only her 2nd pageant...and she won a crown in the first one...so she is pleased with that. My 15 year old granddaughter was selected Miss Teen Congeniality for Blossom Time 2009 and she gave her crown up on Sunday...wow...I was so proud seeing her walk across that stage several times...I hope to have photos of both girls on later! Mariah had to make a box for Peoples Choice awards (you voted with money).... the theme was Mickey Dreams...it all began with a mouse...so with my C we made an awesome Mickey box.......have a nice day!
