Two Way Open Card

Just saw this card this morning and had to make it. Would love to make another one, in nice Spring colors...maybe tomorrow! All products used were Stampin'Up! This is a perfect card for a SU workshop, it has nice layers and yet is easy and somewhat fast to do.

The stamp sets I used I just got, love them! They are Friendly Flowers and the sentiment inside the card is from So Happy. Inks and plain paper are Grovy Guava and Close To Cocoa. The DP is the from the mini Catty and is Afternoon Tea! I also used the white gel pen on the large flower to give it a little "pop"......I used a copper brad to keep the card closed.

Journal Swap

Earlier this month I joined in a "journal swap". Here are a few pictures of the journal I made for the swap and mailed to my "swap partner" in California. It was lots of fun and I hope to join a few more swaps later this year! The journal is loaded with all kinds of things, I am just showing the front, back and inside front cover!!

Garden Glove Card

I purchased this garden glove stamp on Ebay several years ago and have never used it, until now! We have a granddaughter's birthday to go to tonight and I have purchased her some garden "toys" from Target, they have the cutest garden things for little ones! In keeping with the "theme", I pulled this big old stamp out and put it to use! I stamped polka dots all over it and added a die cut butterfly cut with my Cuttlebug. I kept the card simple as she is only 2, but I know she will love the butterfly. Her name is Stella, so I am purchasing her a Ruby Stella daylily!

New Plants In The Garden

On Saturday, my sister and I went to a few greenhouses to explore what was new, we found alot and our lists are much bigger then our wallets!! We did find a couple of unusual (for us) of new annuals that we both purchased. One is a grass that we are told will get quite large and people will be asking what it is and want it! It is called King Tut, now you just have to love a plant with a name like that! The second is called Candy Corn Vine. It looks just like real candy corn, we were also told that this thing climbs all over the place, and did I buy one, nope, had to have 2...what was I thinking???

The last picture is of my beautiful, not yet in bloom poppies, these are red, and I just love them, but look how pretty just the plants themselves are...so healthy! When they are blooming I will post pictures of them later.

Full Moon At The Cabin

My dog "Nellie" (whom is pictured below this post) misses nothing that goes on outside, and last night being no exception at 2:30 in the morning, she was barking her lungs out! So I got up to investigate, up at the garage we have security lights and one was on and I could see the neighbors cat, so I yelled out the door for it to leave (not quite those words) and since I was up I started working on some cards. Just sat down in my stamp room and she started barking her lungs out again. This time it was this pesky opossum that has been pestering us for a few years. He actually stands at the slider in the kitchen and peers in....gives me the creeps. So I yelled at him to vacate, also. Then I noticed the beautiful moon shining down on the creek. I couldn't get a full shot of the entire picture (too dark), but I did a few pictures of the moon, so here is one for you!!

What Dogs Do When They Think You Aren't Looking

I have a couple different posts this morning. I was reading a poll on SCS of what people hate to see on blogs. The main gripe was music, of which I agree 100%. A few of the other complaints were tip jars, black backgrounds, but what really surprised me was kids and pets. Hmmm, now thats where I begin to disagree. Though all my kids are grown, I enjoy seeing the homes and family life of my "fellow bloggers". And of course, me being an animal lover I love seeing the pets also. Some of my favorite blogs are the "peeks" into one anothers home, so inspiring, and you can get great ideas for your own home.

So, with all that being said, I am posting a picture of my "baby" Nellie, relaxing "while I wasn't looking"!!!

Early Mother's Day Card

This was a fun card, and I am actually early to get it done, for me that is a BIG accomplishment! I used SU Mellow Moss for the card and the ink on the branch, the bird of course is SU basic black. I used a cream cardstock and ran it thru my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I don't have any of the Nestabliities, but I do have the Quickutz Revolution hearts die cuts, so I used one of those and cut a "heart window"...added some green velvet ribbon, and I think it turned out quite nice!!

Spaghetti Meatball Cat

Now how would you like to find this little kitty in the ladle of your spaghetti? Isn't he just the cutest! I found this stamp a few years ago on Viva Las Vegas Stamps and just had to order it after seeing it in an issue of Rubber Stamp Maddness. A simple and fast card, but I like it...I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder Allegro for the background and just rubbed black ink over the embossed part...the kitty just looks like he has partied too much, so I used a Stampin'Up! "party time" stamp. Let me know what you think!!

Spring In Michigan At Last!

A few photos I took today of some of the first Spring flowers to pop up! Don't look too close as, I haven't gotten all the beds cleaned out yet. Last photo are the daffodils and grape hyacinths that grow in the woods. I drive by these every time I have to empty a load of flower bed "debris".

Note's Holder Box

I found the directions for this note card holder on Jan Tinklenberg's blog and decided to try one of my own...the box is done, but not the notes, yet! I used Stampin'Up!'s DS paper Berry Bliss and stamp is Seeing Spots, the ribbon on the handle is a pink velvet from Michael's.

Party Time

Fast card called "Party Time". Our local scrapbook store "Pages In Time" I haunt weekly and found this precut old clock face, so of course I had to have it! I used Stampin'Up! Bordering Blue paper and the party time stamp from the sale-a-bration set "Lots of Thoughts"! The background paper was from my friend "Mary"! I added a brad and some little hardware to the face of my clock and a big pop dot to make it stand out! Simple, but I like it!

Bloomin Thank You Card

Another card I finished this early am! Just a simple thank you card, using some SU stamps and the cuttlebug to emboss the background paper...make sure you look below this card to see the other one I posted this morning...its cheerful!

Happy Birthday Sweet Friend!

The double pocket cards were so fun to make I had to make another one! This one is for a friend for a birthday.....much brighter then the first card.

Friends

I loved how this card turned out, might have to use it for a workshop!! All products but the brads and ribbon (the ribbon is from my friend Mary..thanks Mary!) are Stampin'Up!. The card technique is a Double Pocket Fold card, that I got the technique from the latest issue of Scrap & Stamp...if you don't have this issue, you should get it, as there are some other very nice techniques in there, that I am hoping to try!

Stampin'Up! products I used were, Boho Backgrounds (love this set), and from two of the Hostess sets, Spring Solitude, and Make It Count. Also the Berry Bliss DS paper, Purely Pomegranate Ink, and the Round Tab Punch!

The inserts could be used as bookmarks!

Stampin'Up! Basket Sweet Treats

On the Stampin'Up! demo site, they have a ton of templates for us to use (another advantage of being a SU demonstrator!), so I made this little basket. I loved how it turned out, it is a very small box that could hold some chocolate kisses, or other small treats!

The name of the basket is "Sweet Treats", I made it with SU Lavender Lace and Barely Banana card stock, I ran the entire box thru my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder (this has become my favorite folder and I just got less then a week ago!). I had to move it around and back it up to get the look I wanted and also so I wouldn't emboss over it in the same place twice! The top was punched with SU's horizontal slot punch...this punch is worth every bit of its $5.95 price! The flower is from SU Blooming With Love set, I just masked off two of the other flowers and only stamped this one!

I have a couple more boxes to post tonight or tomorrow...I am addicted to these!

SCS VSN #5 Let The Sunshine In Tie Dye

This was different challenge called "Let the Sunshine In - Psychedelic Tie-Dye". For this we had to use the Baby-wipe technique...this was fun and I will be using this at a Stamp Camp this June! It was a little challenging for me, as you use a solid stamp for this, and I had very few of them, so this "old crow" got a new look!

SCS VSN #4 Handbag "Purse"-onality

This challenge was called Handbag "Purse"-onality. Our challenge was to look at a web site given to us of designers bags, and get ideas and make our own.....I had just seen a purse recently that reminded me of scrapbook paper, so this purse seemed to work for me. This was the quickest one to do for me, and I actually had time to load the dishwasher before the next challenge!!

SCS VSN #3 Sketch Designer

This challenge was called "Sketch Designer", and this card I started and hadn't a clue where I was going with it, it is one of my least favorites! For the challenge, we had to use a "sketch" stamp, and I used one from Stampin'Up!s Zoofari set.

SCS VSV #2 I Love My Threads

Here is #2 from VSN, it was called "I Love My Threads". The challenge was to use some sort of stitching on our cards either by hand or machine...this is my favorite and took the longest and was not sure if I would make the 45 minute deadline! I did, but the flowers are not cut out as neat as I would of liked!

SCS VSN Challenge #1

I participated in the Splitcoast Stampers Virtual Stamp Night (VSN) on Friday, it went on from 6 to 11...and also on Saturday noon to 11. At this point I only managed to get Friday nights done. You had a new project every hour and had only 45 mins. to get done...it was exhausting for me, but it was fun and for the most part I liked all but 2 of the cards I made. There are 6 of them, this one was the first and you had to use colors in a picture of a farout fashion show dress.....tell me what you think and look at the rest of them...not sure if I will put the last one on!!

The project was called Fashion Weekend!

SCS Challenge Use Your Unloved Items

Split Coast Stampers had a challenge to use those items you bought and ask yourself "Now what did I buy that for?" You also had to use some sort of flower embelishment. It was easy for me, as I am ALWAYS buying stuff with "great ideas" and by the time I get home, I haven't a clue what I was going to do with it! I could of made 100's of cards for this challenge. I bought this bag of flowers at HobbyLobby, as they were only $1.00, and felt flowers are "in" right now. The card came together pretty well, and this was my first post to a "challenge" on SCS...gee, I just love that site!
The stamp sets are from SU, as are the solid papers (Barely Banana & Certainly Celery), the print paper is new, I just bought it last Friday, its from Daisy bucket!

Signs of Spring!!!!

Finally, signs of Spring are popping up in my garden!!! My crocus are up and blooming, my sedum is up, plus lots of other plants are starting to "pop" up...its about time! It was nice enough outside today that I got to work for about 4 hours in my garden before it started getting cold again...I got lots done, it felt so GOOD to be out in the fresh air without freezing to death!!

Today's Visitor at the Cabin

We have a muskrat that visits us usually in the winter on the creek, but this guy has been hanging around most of the winter, and I really wish he would "move on". I took his picture tonight from my picture window that faces the creek. I don't like any kind of "varmit" or rodent, and this thing looks like a giant rat...eeeeeeeeek!! Gross city!!!

Stampin'Up! Pinwheel

I took a few minutes this morning to make the Stampin'Up! pinwheel. I am not sure if I did it right, but I think it turned out pretty anyhow....not much to post this morning, but I am busy "Spring" cleaning at the cabin, even though it still feels like winter outside...and its dark and gloomy...blah!
