Happy Birthday Double D

Can you believe we are into January and a new year?
I certainly hope we all have a MUCH better year!

January also brings us to a new challenge theme and
mood board at Double D AND it is our 5th year
of our challenge, we are so proud of what we have accomplished!

To celebrate our 'birthday/anniversary' we are starting the year
out right with CUPCAKES....YUM!!

Here is the mood board we are using for inspiration:

I have a lot of cupcake dies and stamps and my biggest decision
was deciding what to use, but I think I purchased this Cottage Cutz die
Birthday Cupcake w/Lemon Slice just for this challenge!
They have the best sales, sometimes up to 85% off and if you subscribe
you won't miss a thing!

I used all the pieces on my cupcake but the sprinkles,
I figured the 'frosting' on the cupcakes was perfect just the way it was.
This summer I made several background pieces using my various
powders and this is what I used to cut the tops from.
There is a bit of metallic here and there.
The powders I used were new ones I had just purchased from Dies R Us
Lindy's Gang Magicals, the magic being they have a shimmery metallic in them!

I decided to die cut three cupcakes and create a slimline card.
My base is die cut using a Tutti Designs Dotted Rectangle
using the second largest, from their new slimline series!

The sentiment is from a cupcake set I have and not sure of the maker.
The inside of the card says 'Sweet Birthday Wishes'.

So, I certainly hope you will join in our celebration of cupcakes
over at Double D and check out all the YUMMY creations from the team,
we have a super fun prize to give away to one random winner!!

Congrats on the five successful years of running a challenge. I know that it takes time and talent. I am so happy to be just a part of it. Your card is yummy and that frosting is so amazing. It looks fluffy and creamy good. I love the gingham background. Great inside sentiment.

They look delicious! Unfortunately I prefer the cream topping to the cake and I can't have it either being lactose intolerant... But I can enjoy your card! Hope you are feeling better?
