Lighthouse Challenge

We are into August already and that makes me kind of sad
as  our summer will be dwindling down and it feels like we just
got rid of winter, sigh!

It also brings us to a new challenge theme at
Double D Challenges and our theme is

LIGHTHOUSE

I find lighthouses so interesting and being near the Great Lakes in Michigan
we surely have plenty of them!!

I had light house dies and stamps to choose from but went with an old (probably 8 years or older)
Inkadinkadoo stamp that has never seen ink before.  I have 2 other
lighthouse stamps in the same predicament but chose this one for today!
I added just a tiny bit of color here and there and a seagull that was 'resting' on my
desk leftover and rejected from another project, poor thing!
The sentiment is from a Woodware Beside The Seaside stamp set.
The background paper is from Best Creation Ocean Breeze set, it was hard to use
as the backside was gorgeous and I had a hard time covering it up, but this side of the paper
seemed to work perfect for my scene!

I hope you will visit our Double D blog and see such a pretty array of lighthouses
from the design teams, those girls always~always outdo themselves!

Entering the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday .... ATG
Retro Rubber .... Stamp older then a year old
The Dream Factory .... Old (my old stamp)

What a majestic card this is Diane! I'm so glad this stamp has finally met with ink. Your simple coloring is all it needed. Well.... and the rejected seagull, of course! Glad it found a home as well. Enjoy what's left of the summer. It sure is flying by fast, isn't it!

Lovely! This reminds me of an artist's sketch while sitting on the beach with a pencil and pad. The touch of color is perfect. Happy that seagull gets to fly today. A lighthouse stamp eludes me, but sounds like you had lots of options.

What a beautiful seaside lighthouse image! Reminds me of a Vintage Postcard! And I absolutely adore that sentiment! Just lovely!

I see that you used an older stamp that was never inked up before too. I love the look of the stamp that you just added some color to. It is handsome and looks like you sketched it. Thanks for encouraging me to use my older stamp too.

I'm seeing some awesome lighthouse cards today and here's another one. Plus it's NBUS and a sketchy Inkadinkado art stamp. I just love it! The stripes are perfect. I always associate stripes with beach or nautical and it only just this moment hit me how many lighthouses have stripes. Funny how I only have one lighthouse stamp. My friend collects them and has a bazillion. I really love the sentiment, too. I'm so glad to be back with Double D!

Every creative person knows that. You have so many things that it quickly happens that you have never used some things. Nice that you now had the opportunity to do so. Your card has a wonderful mood. Thanks for showing at the dream factory. Gundi

I love lighthouses too, there is something picturesque about them. Great that you inaugurated one of your old stamps and entered our Dream Factory challenge! Thanks a lot! Rosi x
...A little tip, if I may. When I have a paper printed on both sides that I really like, I photocopy it. That way I don't have to cut the original ;)
