Octoberfest

At Double D for our newest challenge in October we are
celebrating

OCTOBERFEST
meaning anything to do with October
even Halloween!
We have a fun mood board for inspiration.

I went with the Halloween side of October and stamped a newly
purchased stamp Woodware Pumpkin Flowers that was colored with Copics!
I think this is the only new Halloween stamp I purchased this year.
It appealed to me so much as it a lot going on, pumpkin, bats, spider webs and flowers!
It is a rather large stamp but the price was extremely reasonable
which you will see if you follow the link I gave.

Happy Halloween!!

Not only do I have a card for the challenge but this day of Oct 5th four years ago is a
very memorable one for me as it is the day I lost my Mom to
breast cancer, who would think that at age 91 what would take her life
would be breast cancer?

I created this card in remembrance of  her as not a day goes by that
I don't truly miss her, so many times I have wanted to pick up
the phone and call her, we talked every single day of my life for as
long as I can remember at least twice a day, sometimes more,
she was my best friend and I loved her so!!
I have tears in my eyes writing this, they tell you  you will get over it
but you never do, maybe the pain eases but you never do get 'over' it!
Rest In Peace Mom!

Thanks for letting me share my memory today!!

Make sure to visit the Double D Challenge and see all
the beautiful Octoberfest creations from our

What a heartfelt and touching post this is. I miss my mom every day too and the sadness of the loss never goes away. You just learn to live through each day, with thankfulness for the love and warm memories. Sending you a warm hug, my friend.

Fun Halloween card Diane. There are so many details in this stamped image. Love the combination of the flowers and pumpkin. Beautiful coloring too. Hugs to you on this day and always. Missing your momma is a forever thing.

That pumpkin is magnificent! Love your coloring! I have some gnomes by woodware--seems like a great company! (((hugs))) to you, I don't think you ever get over losing someone dear to you, let alone your Mom. Thinking of you! xoxo

Oh my friend this card is awesome! What a fabulous stamp and you've colored it beautifully! Excellent October inspiration!
WOW... I can't believe your mom's been gone 4 years already and mine will be gone 3 years in December. You mom was such a sweet lady ... I know what you mean about wanting to pick up the phone and call her ... I think about doing that all the time too. We are blessed to have had such wonderful & supportive Mom's.

Aww, Diane... first, your card is awesome. It's such a great stamp and your coloring blows me away. Great combo of colors. I really like Woodware stamps. Second, I understand about your Mom and you've made a lovely tribute to her today. Nice that you added the pink ribbon, and the feminine doily edge, and blue birds flying high and free. It was not easy when I lost my mom many years ago. The photo of her (and your Dad?) is so precious.

First, your stamp is got everything on it that you can imagine for Fall and Halloween. That pumpkin looks a bit scary. But what a good price it was. I have not heard of Woodware stamps, don't get me started.
I am so sorry that you lost your mother to cancer at her age or any age for that matter. I lost a sister 5 years ago to cancer who was much too young. My other sister is a survivor of breast cancer and we just celebrated 5 years cancer free. Hugs as I know it is just not the same.

What a great post, Diane. Your art is always inspiring to me. I also appreciate your visits to my blog, and for the invitation/reminder to play along at Colorful Options. I tend to forget so many great challenges, and I do love to play along when I can. Have a blessed week.

Both cards are absolutely beautiful, a really fun one for Halloween and loving the verse on the card you made for your mom's memory!
I lost my mom when I was 13, didn't have a lot of time with her sadly and you are so right when you say we never really get over it... But I treasure my childhood memories and remember her dearly!

Thanks so much for sharing this month at my Crafty Wednesday challenge!

What a fun and unusual Halloween card, Diane - I love the addition of the flowers.
The card in memory of your Mum is just beautiful and I'm sure she would have loved to receive it and have a chat with you again.
Thanks for sharing at ATSM.
