Looking Back In Time Challenge

Hello friends!!
Today we have a new challenge theme starting at
Double D challenges and a new fun mood board to inspire you!

The theme is 'Looking Back In Time'.

Just those four pictures above gives you lots to choose from,
let alone an idea of your own.

I remembered I had a phone stamp from a  Unity Stamp
that I thought would work great.
Gee, I remember growing up we had a 3 party line.
Do any of you remember those...where anyone on the line with you
could listen in to all your conversations if they wanted to..
what a difference today makes, anyhow,
here is my card.

I started with a crumb card stock base and a glossy paper on that.
I used a clock print from TH idea-ology Lost and Found paper pad.
My crazy mind thought the paper fit in with the
sentiment 'Call me anytime'..lol!

The phone was stamped in Versamark,
then heat embossed with a SNS Black Detail embossing powder.

I felt it still lacked something so added the simple little flower.

The DD design team has some really fabulous designs
once again for this challenge...
make sure to head on over to Double D and take a peek at them
join in with us too...always a fabulous prize up for grabs!!

Great card, Diane! Yes, vintage means "party line" where telephones are concerned. I certainly remember our 3 party line growing up. We had a neighbor that always abused her privilege! LOL! Thankful for my mobile...

This is awesome and I love that background! OH YES 3-Party Lines ... I remember them well! You'd have to pick up the phone and see if anyone was using it before you could make your call and some people would ignore the fact that you wanted the line and just kept on talking! Ugh! LOL Thanks for the fun memories ...
OH and in fact, I just last week made my mother disconnect her old black rotary phone because it was still plugged into the old '4 prong' line and it was reaking havoc with the new phones. LOL

I just love this card! You made it vintage, but simple. What a great combo! Well, hey, "call me anytime"... the clocks fit perfectly! That phone is so cute! Dang, this challenge is bringing back memories. Yes, we had a party line and a big ol' black phone. Once computers came along, things started changing fast!

What a great theme, and fantastic use of your vintage "metallic" elements, Diane! Gosh, it is fun looking back at how much things change. We were talking this morning about the new craze of having food kits delivered. Even when my son and DIL were married, he knew how to cook, clean, take care of a car, sew on a button, etc, but she didn't! I laughed one day when she said he taught her how to gift wrap a present. We used to have 4 digital #s in our small town for dialing the phone, and then it went to 7 digits that included two alpha characters. Some adults cannot tell time from an analog clock! And many can't make change when they are handed too much money. Even the grocery stores stock such different products from when we were little kids. It's all so interesting. Thanks for the fun card creation, and the memories! hugs, de

I saw a bit on television a few days ago where two 16 year old boys were trying to figure out how to use a rotary phone, It took them over three minutes to get the number right. Great card for this challenge.

Perfect for the Looking Back in Time challenge. We still have a dial up phone on the wall of our utility room. It still works too, except when they ask you to press *1* then you are out. But I have been known to answer it occasionally. And, if the electricity goes out the cordless ones don't work. We found that out. Good thing to have a cell as well. Anyway, back to the card I just love your take on the challenge. I love all the clocks in the background too.

Oooh love the clock face background and that sweet little phone image! My Grandparents had a party line when they lived in NH. I think they had a certain ring that was theirs, 2 long 1 short....I don't know lol Great card! Oh and there is a video online somewhere, where 2 teenage boys are trying to dial a number from a rotary phone....hilarious!

What a sweet card. LOVE the phone and the clocks in the background. That phone is vintage for sure. I remember when we would speak to a real "operator" to give the number we wanted to call. We even had a party line one time after Himself and I were married. THAT was interesting!!!! Your design is just perfect for the Mood Board, thanks for the inspiration.

This is absolutely gorgeous Diane! I love the telephone on the clock paper. Great vintage feel and the flower add a bit of "happiness" to the card.
