Pretty As A Peacock

This is my post at the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today!

The May Reveal was using Dreamweaver stencils.
I was excited when I heard this, as working with stencils is not only fun,
but it is an entirely different and gorgeous look for card creating!

Diane here with you today to show you this beautiful
Dreamweavers Peacock Stencil.
I cut a black card stock panel and used Silver Embossing Paste,
carefully applying with my Palette Knife.

I removed the stencil, then starting from the outside in,
using an 1/8" measuring spoon,
I started adding my glitters.

SNS glitters used for this project were
Waterfall semi transparent, Misty Blue, Sugar Plum, and Green Nugget.
I added a color, then tapped it off, added the next color repeated each step until it was done.
At this point I let my stenciled and glittered peacock dry overnight.
It does dry faster, but after all my beautiful work, I wanted to make sure it was totally dry.

The sentiment is from the stamp set Spring Floral.
I stamped it with Versamark, then used Black Detail embossing powder
and heat set it.

To finish I adhered my finished panel to lilac card stock using
Added an embossed panel and a few sequins.

I encourage you to create using the stencils and glitter,
you will be amazed at how easy it is!

Finishing Touches Delicate Daisies Complete Petals
cut from the watercolor paper
and
Finishing Touches Open Petals cut from white card stock.

I just love these sets of dies.

You can use them in so many different ways.....
together as I did, or separate for a completely different look.

I haven't seen any hummingbirds yet this year,
but I added one to my card cut from a

The stamped image is from an old SU set Le Jardin Botanique.
Isn't it pretty?
I colored on the stamp with my SU markers,
then stamped.

Hi Classy Friends!
Diane with you today with my card for our challenge this week,
which is Mother's Day!

I wanted a bright, cheerful, and happy card,
and I think I achieved that using some awesome
products from Classy Cards 'n Such.

I started by stamping the
Impression Obsession Gingham cover a card  background stamp
on white card stock.

I cut a Spellbinders Oval from Cryogen White Curious Metallic  card stock,
and adhered it to the gingham panel with Scor-tape 1/2".

My newest die is the PoppyStamps Garden Bouquet.
I cut it twice,
colored the inside flower pieces using
then adhered those in the flower outlines.

The sentiment is from the JustRite set Floral Basket.

The pretty pink butterfly is a Joy! Crafts Butterfly Trio die.

I simply finished with a ribbon bow and
Amber Rhinestones in the flower centers.

Garden Fresh

Yippee it's May!!!
Time for gardening, sunshine and our May linky party at Crafty Secrets!!

May is also the time for strawberries to soon appear in my neck of the woods!!
I love strawberries
and based my entire project on my love for the juicy red fruit!

I made a "Garden Fresh" card using the Kitchen Memories Kit for my papers.
Be sure to use the link I have provided and take a peek at this kit....
it is full of beautiful kitchen papers and nostalgic charm that has endless
possibilities to work with!!

The "center attraction" are the strawberries from the newly "just gone digital"
This is a 4 page set of the most beautiful creative garden scraps
that you will love!!

I don't have much of a tutorial to share with you today,
but I do have a wonderful
strawberry recipe to share...YUM!!!

I made this as I thought I might have company over the weekend, but
it was a "no show"....
So it is going to the grandkiddos to have....
I hope you will give it a try, as it is so yummy......
I do think I need to quit making it though,
as last time I made it to take to a paper crafting event with friends,
I got all the way there and realized I had forgotten to load it in my car...LOL!!

Creamy Strawberry Jello Pie

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup crushed pretzels (about 3 1/2-4 cups small pretzels)
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup melted butter (stick and a half of a stick...butter only)

2 8oz packages cream cheese softened
1 small can drained pineapple
3/4 cup sugar
1 8oz tub cool whip thawed

2 cups water
2 3oz packages strawberry jello
1 14-16 oz package of FROZEN sliced strawberries

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350.  Combine the crushed pretzels, 1/4 cup sugar
and melted butter in small mixing bowl,
then gently press into a 10" spring form pan (a 9 x 13" pan can be used, too)
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, remove and cool completely.

When the crust is completely cool, place the cream cheese and 3/4 cup sugar
in bowl and beat with an electric mixer, when cream cheese is smooth, mix in
drained pineapple.  Fold in the cool whip and gently spread over the cooled crust.
Refrigerate for at least an hour.

When the creamy layer has cooled for an hour, boil 2 cups water,
then stir in the 2 packs of 3oz jello (I used one 6oz package),
Stir in the frozen sliced strawberries and continue stirring until
the strawberries have thawed.  Gently pour/spoon over the creamy layer
and refrigerate until the Jello is set. At least 2 hours.

When ready to serve, gently run a butter knife between the edge of the
pie and pan and then slowly loosen the edge of pan (if using spring form pan).
Cut and serve....serves between 12-14.

Pretty In Pink at The Shabby Tea Room

Happy May!!!

The first Monday in May brings us to another fun challenge at
Our theme is "Pretty In Pink" using the inspiration photo below!

Our sponsor is "Great Impressions".

I'm sorry to say, I didn't have any (yet) Great Impressions stamps,
so I went with the inspiration photo, pretty much using dies.

I used a background paper I recently purchased from Joann Fabrics
from a paper pad called Country Girl.

The bike is an Impression Obsession die and stamp set.
I cut the bike, then I used Versamark and embossing powder
on the matching stamp ... I love how it shines and gives dimension!

I filled the basket with flowers (sequins) using
Tuti Fruiti Sequins from Paper Sweeties.

I cut a few pink fluffy clouds and picket fence along with
a butterfly that had "landed" on my desk,
just waiting to be used
The sentiment is from the same set as the bike.

Now, "pop" on over to "The Shabby Tea Room"
and see what the other "shabby" girls have to inspire you.....
don't forget to check out our sponsor, too,
they have beautiful stamps!!

Happy Birthday

This is my post at Classy Cards 'n Such today.
Don't forget you can use my discount code
DIANE-10 to save 10% on your order
at the CCNS online store!

Hi there, Diane with you today!

I have a few fun products I used to share with you today!
First, I started with a Memory Box Texture Splatter stencil,
using a Gold metallic ink and TH Distress ink Broken China.
I applied the ink with the Mini Ink Blending Tool .

I got even more creative by applying VersaMark to
Our Daily Bread butterfly branch from the Faith  stamp set,
then embossing with Frantage Embossing Powder.
The color I used was Shabby Blue, 4 colors come in the set.
A couple of quick tips are to use the Anti Static Bag
on your card stock before applying the VersaMark.
This helps to keep the embossing powder to stick only where you want it.
Also, in using Frantage, it is best to heat from beneath your stamped image.

I do have a matching die for this stamp, and I used it.
Though not in store right now, Beverly can order it for you.

I next cut an oval to mount my butterflies on using
Spellbinders Floral Ovals.
I popped both the butterflies and the oval with

I guess, I was so much into the embossing, that I also
used Sparkle N Sprinkle Gold Detail  fine embossing powder
for the sentiment, which is from JustRite Hope and Love stamp set!

This was a very easy card to make.
I think it took me longer to put all the supplies away,
then the actual card making..lol!
