Almost Springtime

We are just a few days away from Spring and what could be a
better challenge theme at Double D then
'SPRING'

We have a pretty Spring mood board to get you inspired.
I bet if you are like me and live in a cold winter region
you are VERY ready for Spring to appear!!

I totally used the mood board for MY inspiration...
can you guess which one?
Yep, the top right corner with those pink tulips.
I LOVE tulips but can't grow them much in my gardens
as the critters eat them all, bulbs in winter and the tulips themselves in Spring.

So, one way to have pretty tulips is by putting them on a card and that is just what I did.

I used a NBUS die from Cottage Cutz 'Watering Can Tulips'.
I also used a die I purchased from a scrapbook store about an hour from here.
It's the only die I have from Gina Marie Designs and funny thing is
they are located in Michigan I believe.
I also used mostly scraps for my die cuts,
I love to use those up which will probably be never lol!

Visit Double D Challenges and see what the Design Team has created...
it certainly is always, always fabulous!!

What a lovely spring card Diane! Your watering can filled with bright pink tulips is perfectly springy. The lacy background die is so feminine and just perfect for your sweet card. I have a few of GMD dies that my friend who lives in MI has gotten me. They have a great line of dies. How fun that you live so close~

I relish the card made with die cuts. It has so much texture and I delight in the look of spring and all that a new beginning brings to mind. Stay safe.

Well your tulip design is gorgeous. Wonderful Spring colors too. I love tulips too and only have a few yellow ones left which so far are coming up every Spring. And, I agree they are gorgeous.

Love the spring watering can. Looks like you may have paper pieced it. The background die is perfect for the pretty pink tulips.

This is definitely springtastic, Diane!! I, too, love tulips, but have given up on most spring bulbs. It's so depressing to see them bloomed out all pretty one day and then all chomped off the next. Funny how daffodils are growing naturalized on the edge of the woods. Hmmm... maybe I'll try some of those. Anyway... you have a gorgeous mood board and a really gorgeous card for this challenge!

What a gorgeous card Diane! It truly is like the hope that Spring brings to us - and we certainly need some of that right now. I was thrilled that you commented over on my blog - it's always lovely to hear from you. Yup, it does seem as if the world has gone mad. I was buying some low dose aspirin for Len a couple of weeks ago just as the panic buying began and at the counter I said 'I'll put one pack back in case someone else needs them. The pharmacist said she wished every one would do that. I usually do buy two at a time but knew he already had a spare at home so it only seemed fair. I'm no saint but, like your approach, if we all did that then there would be more than enough to go round. Sadly, the world and certainly Western society, seems to be self-centred and greedy beyond any help now. We're self-isolating now yet the local kids are all running around, playing in the streets and undoubtedly cross-infecting one another. And no doubt, if worst comes to worst, it will be their parents who will scream the loudest for hospital beds and ventilators! Love and also a woof from Dudley Dog! Di xxx

What a shame the critters eat your tulips when you try to grow them Diane. At least you can enjoy them on a card and I love these pink die cut ones in your gorgeous paper pieced watering can! I've been thinking about this challenge and hope to be joining in :)

This is such a wonderful reminder that spring is just around the corner! My tulips are up about 6" but not blooming yet, although the daffodils opened today! Love these pretty tulips in the watering can and what a gorgeous background die that is too! NJ!

I just adore this sweet card! Those tulips are so pretty in that container, and the background die cut is perfect. Really lovely, and great take on the challenge. Almost all our snow is gone now, but we still have quite a bit in the front yard. Still, we are seeing robins, so spring is upon us. Stay well, my friend.
