How is your weather today??

It is slightly (and slowly) starting to warm up here.

Puts me in a Spring mood for my projects!!

 I made this card using the free digitals Sandy is offering

for our Crafty Secrets March linky party!

The adorable little girl is from the Garden Girls Digital stamp set

and the paper is from Digital Garden Paper Kit.

I love this digital stamp and printed it on my new printer

Being our state bird (Michigan) is a Robin,

that is how I colored him!

I really wanted the focus to be on the "stamp" and paper,

Hello, Diane with you today with what I am calling a happy card!

I think the colors are so bright and cheerful, it just has to make you happy!

I started my card with a stamped background using TH Distress Old Paper ink

on an Impression Obsession background stamp called Sunburst.

I wanted a somewhat muted background, so inked it lightly.

These are nice, rather large background stamps,  approx. 6 x 6, 

so I used the Mega Mount curved acrylic block for the stamp.

I die cut the gorgeous Anna Griffin Flourish Medallion

from Madarin Curious Metallic #111 card stock.

I stamped Sweet n Sassy Flowers in Bloom onto 

Cryogen White Curious Metallic card stock, 

an 89# card stock perfect for using your alcohol markers on.

I popped up the image using Joy! Foam Pads Large.

I wanted a bit of "bling", so I die cut my sequins using

My Favorite Things Sequin die from Orange Iris Shimmer Sheetz.

I just love this die!! It is a wonderful investment along with the

Shimmer Sheetz, allowing you many, many color options 

using the  Iris Sampler Pack Shimmer Sheetz or 

the Gemstone Sampler Pack Shimmer Sheetz for your sequins.

Happy news!!!

Below is my first post I did for them today!!!

Happy Thursday All!!

Today is my first post as new Design Team Member on the

Dies R Us blog, though I am not new to Dies R Us,

you may have seen my cards as a DT member on the

Dies R Us challenge blog!

I will be posting my creations here every Thursday,

but make sure to stop by Monday through Friday 

to see all the inspiration the entire team has for you.

My card today is featuring flowers using the gorgeous 

Sue Wilson Finishing Touches Delicate Daisies Open Petals

and

Sue Wilson Delicate Daisies Complete Petals.

I cut the complete petals from scrap yellow and white paper

and the open petals from a white metallic card stock,

giving the flowers a bit of shimmer!

I adhered each of the open petals down using 

Art Institute Art Glitter Glue,

a fast drying, easy to use glue!

These flower dies have so many options of using them,

stacked together like I did, 

 or they make a statement just on their own!!

The greenery on the flowers are Die-Versions Leaves and Vines

and Spellbinders D-Lites Sprigs.

I also used another favorite die of mine

  Cheery Lynn Designs French Lattice Small.

I love how pretty the lattice dies are.

Spring Time Nap

Hello Friends!!!

Once again I am taking a little "me" time and joining in the cutest challenge

at "House Mouse & Friends" for their "Spring" theme!!

I remember the first time I saw this cute little mouse sleeping in the tulip,

I had to have it....

and it feels good to pull some of my stamps out again.

I got into my scrap bags and pulled a few pieces to match

the pretty orange tulip!

I have been in a peachy/orange mood lately,

maybe it's that "hopeful for Spring" attitude again!

Not sure, but I am loving the colors!!

I colored this little mouser with my Copics,

then cut him out with a Nellie Snellen  doily die.

The stamped sentiment came from my bag of scraps

as well did the snippet of ribbon.

Hope you like my little house mouse.....eeeeeeeek

Hello classy friends, Diane with you today.

this week we have a super, fun challenge for you,

using a colorful and fun inspiration photo to inspire you,

which you can find by clicking on the right tab

under "current challenge"!

For my card I chose the cute little campers and

a few of the bright colors to work with.

I started out by lightly sponging TH Peacock Feathers Distress Ink

onto white card stock for my sky.

From a piece of green scrap, I cut rolling hills.

Now for the fun part, all the die cuts!!

I cut the adorable My Favorite Things Happy Camper

using Starburst Lichen Aspire Petallic Metallic card stock

for the base of the camper.

The door of the camper was cut using Stardream Jupiter Metallic card stock.

The trim, window, hub cap and hitch were cut using

Luminized Curious Metallic card stock.

The tire was cut using the Pluto Onyx Stardream Metallic which also comes

in a Fall Card Stock Bundle

Nothing better then metallic card stocks for this little camper!!

Because there is nothing like camping in the pines,

I cut a tree from Impression Obsession Fir Trees, using the largest in the set.

I cut a few clouds from the new Memory Box Cloud Bank die set

and a few birds from Impression Obsession Sea Birds.

To complete my card I couldn't resist adding a little lab/golden retriever puppy

using Impression Obsession Puppy Set.

Simple Easter Treat Baskets

It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's time for the

March Crafty Secrets linky Party!!

This month our challenge is 

"Go Green" meaning create a Gardening/Botanical theme

with an up-cycling twist!

Use an "up-cycle" item in our project!

Each Design Team member will have a tutorial on their project.

YOU, can participate in the challenge using any Crafty Secrets product.

We have lots of free digitals to choose from

and you can win the top prize by random draw, but everyone is a winner!

You don't even have to follow our theme, it can be any project you want,

just be sure to use a Crafty secrets product!

Let's get started!

My tutorial is a very fun and easy one.

How to transfer one of the Crafty Secrets digitals to a peat pot.

I don't know about you, but I have a real love for those little pots!

First you will need to paint your pots, I chose to work with 3 colors, Lemon Custard, Vintage White and Orchard.

Set your pots aside to dry, it doesn't take long at all.

While they are drying you can print your digitals.

I chose Crafty Secrets Birds & Blooms.

Print your digitals on plain copy paper.

If there is writing on the design, you will want to "invert" or "reverse" your print.

You can see by the photo below, that the word mother is backwards, 

that is what you want.

Cut your images out, nothing fancy, 

I just cut around the birds, leaves and such.

I just didn't want straight lines.

Decide which image is going on what pot, 

then apply a good amount of "Modge Podge"

to the FRONT of the image (the print side).

Lay your image on your pot face down, 

press down, and work all the bubbles out.

If you need a bit more modge podge around the edges, go a head and apply it,

it won't hurt anything.

The next step is probably the most important.

Let them totally dry, overnight is best!

I don't show this next part , as I assume you all know what a sponge

or wet cloth looks like..lol!

Take a damp sponge or cloth and apply to the image, get it nice and wet,

gently start to rub the paper off, you should start seeing the image appear...

just like magic!

Once all the paper is off, apply another coat of modge podge and let dry completley

Then just decorate as you would like.

I added chenille stem handles which I glued paper fringe over,

and also glued paper fringe around the top edge.

That's it...very easy, the longest it takes is to be patient and let them dry!

It's March...yippee.... Spring will be here before we know it!!

I love the pretty inspiration photo and had a plan right off!

I pulled an already die cut Cheery Lynn Chicken Wire Frame

from my stash, and built my card on that.

I had lots of fun rolling my flowers using Memory Box Small Pinwheel

which I colored with PanPastels Permanent Red Tint and Magenta colors.

The greenery was cut using a Marianne die

and the Pail (bucket) is from Impression Obsession.

To finish, I added a few Joy! Craft butterflies,

 a pink gingham bow (my favorite),

the sentiment and a bit of "bling'!!
