Getting "Inky" For The Shabby Tea Room

I spent all morning making this card for The Shabby Tea Room Challenge "Monochromatic".......and getting "inky" in the process....first I embossed my image with TH Milled Lavender, but the color just wasn't what I wanted...so then stamped my three little kittens with VersaMagic Pansy chalk ink...much better color.....then got the brainstorm to tint some of my own seam binding to match my rose...thing is I bought the seam binding over a year ago and have been hunting for it since....walked out of the room and back in and instantly saw it...go figure...but it took lots of trial and errors to get the color I wanted...(but at least I have some other yummy colors for another time)
...since I am "still" on my gingham kick I added some lavender gingham ribbon to my seam binding...I inked up a white paper doily (I really need to buy one of those doily dies) with the same chalk ink, stamped Three little words at the bottom and inside has a nice sentiment to go with it,
the background of my card, I used a Sizzix texture plate..I have about 15 of these and have never used them...alot of it is covered up, but its all flowers...my goal is to someday win the challenge, but the competition is tuff...there are some gorgeous and breathtaking entries each time...I visit all the time to see what new entries have been posted and have found several "favorite" blogs because of the challenges........more to come tomorrow!

The Screen Door

Good "Sunday" morning!  I mentioned in a few posts back that I had made a trip to Joans Gardens in Indiana and came back with a "haul".....one of the many things I purchased was this screen door die......can you just see the possibilities with this door....all the holidays, occassions...soooooo many things to do with it.....I can emboss the door itself.....ink it up for a distressed look.....hang a wreath on it, or a banner.....fun~fun~fun..........you will be seeing a few more of my creations with this die this week......its a die...well, to "die" for...lol!

I used my CB embossing folder that looks like weathered wood...the pail of tulips is from a stamp set I "won" from Flourishes...it was just a practice with my Copics and  I decided to put it to good use with the screen door....isn't it just the cutest???

Monochromatic Card

Well, after all the issues with Blogger we all have been having I had to completely redo my post for this card...I sure hope they have it resolved...but as I always say "you get what you pay for"...lol...so on to the card.

This week at Joans Gardens the challenge is to make a monochromatic card, have an embossed background, use a flourish, flower,  and a butterfly.  I picked SU elegant eggplant as my color, made my "Rose" using the SU owl punch.....the video is on youtube if interested in seeinghow to do it...easy peasy....I actualy did another step which I won't even mention, as the rose completely covers it up......I can't believe I didn't add a ribbon to it.......thats it for today...I have my pinkeep to get in the mail for my swap I am in and am going to a neighborhood sale of over 30 houses....hope I find some goodies!!

How Is Your Garden Blooming ~ and~ A Tag

Here is my tag for the Joans Gardens weekly tag challenge...I opted for a garden tag this time...I stamped my garden apron on DS paper and then hand cut it out...I punched a flower and cut the tips by hand into their pointy shapes.....the tag base was made with my Cricut...I spent awhile back cutting out all kinds of shapes and sizes of tags on my Cricut....and I think this is the last one...how I love that Cricut!

Since I made a garden theme tag..I decided to share a few of my gardens photos and one of the creek...I took the creek photo just as the sun was coming up and the creek was golden...wish I could of picked the color up better in my photo...my camera skills are (and never have been) very good...sigh!

Under The Sea

Under the sea is the challenge for Tag Tuesday this week ~ for my tag I used a piece of Cordinations that I ran thru my Bug and then sanded it....I added a piece of torn sandpaper to the bottom, a MS anchor punch my hubby bought me for Xmas one year, stamped a sea turtle with a $1 stamp (you know the ones...I have tons of them but never use them) I added a glitter pen to him for sparkle, though it doesn't show up in the pic....then I added a piece of vintage shell jewelry at the bottom......I now have a cute summer tag for a gift...I am getting quite a collection of tags!

I went to Joan's Gardens today and made a haul of goodies...will show some of it later...now wish I would of bought more!

Nellie is our Golden Doodle....Soot is the character of the cats....always into something...the two packed into the bed are Cloe and Tessie..they are sisters and sleep like that all the time...last is Bubba..she is our cancer cat...she is 17...thin as a rail, but is happy...all are rescue cats of some sort

Timeless Tuesday #116

Fourishes Timeless Tuesday this week is to create a kids card.....I grabbed a bunch of my "kiddo's" stamps and was all set to go, when out of my "stash" drawer was this little turtle peeking out at me.....he is is left over from a year or so ago from a candy swap I did.....part of a "Turtles" chocolate packaging...so the little guy was put to good use in a card...the ribbon is a last scrap I had, the flowers on the tree were punched from a piece of scrap paper...feels so good to "use up" some of my "leftovers"...will (might) add a sentiment at the time he is sent out......
Not sure how much more posting I will get done until Sunday as I won't have computer access after noon today until Sunday night......and I have alot I had wanted to post.....sigh!!
