This Is Your Day

Hello friends, today at The Sisterhood of Crafters
we have a new challenge theme and it is
DOTS AND/OR STRIPES.

As you can see I went with dots for my card using a
Memory Box Large Ringlets (2014) die.
I have used this die before but not in a long time
so it felt good to get it out again and put it to use!

I also added a flower from my Spellbinders stash of
handmade flowers and a sentiment from The Ton Easy Expressions.
The dotted background paper is from My Favorite Things.

Come on over and visit us at
The Sisterhood and check out all the beauty from my 'sistahs'!

Guest Designing At Word Art Wednesday

Hello friends, this is my last guest design spot for this month over at
Word Art Wednesday challenge
and I have created the card below using the scripture sent to me
for the challenge.

My card is a 5 1/2" by 5 1/2" square card that I am hoping will fit in a
6 inch envelope.  The background papers are from Mintay Birdsong
and I used a  Gina Marie Designs die to print my scripture on.
The flowers were created using Concord & 9th Picked Posie dies,
one butterfly is Cheapo dies and the other is Sue Wilson.
The strips at the bottom are Pretty Pink Posh.
A few gems were added for a bit of bling!

We would love to have YOU join us at Word art Wednesday
and I want to thank Karen and the team for having me guest design!!

Sketch Saturday #745

Hello friends, it time again for another sketch from
Sketch Saturday
and it is a pretty easy one at that!

We have an OPTIONAL twist of to feature GREEN!

For my card, I turned it to go up and down which suits my style better.
After all they say to make a sketch your own as long as the sketch can be seen!
I used a few just purchased Reminisce 'Irish Kiss' stickers from a 12x12 sheet of
St Patrick's fun!  The background paper is from the same packet.

Come on over and join us for our fun sketch at Sketch Saturday!!

Squares/Circles Challenge

Hello friends, it's time for a new challenge at
Can You Handle The Pressure and our 'OPTIONAL' theme is
CIRCLES AND/OR SQUARES!

I chose circles for my card using a 3D embossing folder from
WeR Memory Keepers 'Dotted' folder.

I kept my card simple and had a dire need for a sympathy card
so chose to go that route!
The greenery is a PoppyStamps Sylvan Sprig
and the sentiment is from The Ton Easy Expressions.

My card is actually a lighter green in color but to capture
the circles on the bottom of my card I had to darken up
my photo!

Come on over to Can You Handle The Pressure,
get those embossing folders out and have some fun with us!!

Patterned Paper

Hello Friends, it's time again for a new challenge theme at
Double D and it is PATTERENED PAPER.
We have a mood board  for inspiration but you can create
with any of your pretty papers!!

I made a couple of cards, only because I didn't care too much for my first one
but came up with THIS card that I like a whole lot better.

I had a new to me paper pad from Echo Park 'Bee Happy'(2023)
that is full of beautiful mostly black and yellow papers.
I added some of my homemade flowers, some from Spellbinders, Concord & 9th and some from Pretty Pink Posh.

Funny, but this is not what I had intended to do but where it ended up!
The sentiment is yet again from The Ton Easy Expressions!

My second card  is using some paper from
P13 Spring Is Calling (2023).
The base is a Spellbinders Candlewick Rectangle
and the Tulips are Memory Box Dancing Tulips (2012).
The sentiment is stamped on another Spellbinders die
and is a TH stamp.

So get out all those patterned papers you are hoarding
and get busy and join in our challenge at Double D,
always a fun prize up for grabs and lots of beautiful inspiration
from the teams too!!

Birthday Wishes

I saw where Time Out challenges were celebrating their 10th
birthday of being a challenge blog.
Being a co-owner of 9 challenge blogs I know how much time
and effort is put into running challenge blogs
and wanted to join in with their birthday celebrations.
Just to keep it going for TEN years is quite a feat!
I also mentioned it to my partner in crime(Dar) that
we both should join in and she jumped at the chance to
create something then other for our own challenge blogs.
and you can see her card HERE!

For my card I used a beautiful Altenew layered stencil
Golden Days.  I have used this stencil before but never in
these colors, which are Altenew's
Blush~Rouge~Crimson and Velvet.

Happy Birthday Time Out!!

was 45 years ago LOL!  But as for my card, well, I went with the
top right photo to inspire me. using the buffalo plaid stag!
Very simple card using an EB folder, a die cut and a stamp.

Two Old Bats Reminder February 2024

We are halfway through our challenge at Two Old Bats
where everyday is Halloween!  You can let our fun mood board inspire
you as it me, or just create anything Halloween!

I let the upper right get my creative juices going.
The cobweb and the two hearts 'spoke' to me.
I used a couple Tutti Designs stitched hearts, a corner spider web
from Tutti Designs and a few fun ghosts from Impression Obsession!
The sentiment was computer generated!

Hope to see you over at Two Old Bats,
plenty of spooky inspiration there!!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge February 2024

Valentine's Day is over and it's now time for a new challenge at
Beautiful Blossoms!
How fun we can put those hearts aside and focus on some pretty blooms!
Speaking of pretty blooms, we have a beautiful inspiration board
to get those creative juices going, but you can create
anything as long as 'blooms' are your focal point!

I used a never been used before layered stamp set from
The Ton 'Fresh Cut Anemones'.
I purchased this set because of the vase, my mom had given me one
exactly like it so how could I resist it?
This card is nothing like it started out to be,
I made numerous mistakes along the way including getting
black ink where I didn't want it and messing up the stems entirely,
then messing up the flower center order of layering,
yep, a real mess I created.  I decided to try and salvage what I could
and fussy cut the flowers out, added drawn stems and used the
leaves to cover up what I could, but even then I am not happy
with the placement of them.  Maybe I should of just trashed the entire thing
but I had put so much work into the layering of the flowers
I just couldn't make myself toss it!
I am naming this card "It is what it is" card, lol!!

Hop on over to Beautiful Blossoms for some great inspiration!!

Guest Designing At Word Art Wednesday

Hello Friends, this month I have the honor of guest designing
at Word Art Wednesday
and this is my card I created with the scripture below sent to me.
I created an A2 card using a WeR Memory Keepers EB folder
for my background and Spellbinders Labels 17 for my cut outs.
The pretty butterfly paper is from P13 Spring Is Calling,
the butterflies are Sue Wilson and the flower is from my
handmade flower stash!  I added a few gems for bling!

I want to thank Karen and the team for having me this month
and invite YOU to join in at Word Art Wednesday yourself
and you can choose to use the scripture or not.

Love Challenge

At the Sisterhood of Crafters our challenge is all about LOVE
at least that is our theme for this challenge!

Lat year I saw this love die from Penny Black called Immense Love
and searched all over until I finally found it in stock somewhere
but by the time I received it, it was too late for Valentine's Day,
so after a full year, it is finally making it's debut here today.
I die cut it with a scrap of gingham paper and added a few of my
already been created handmade flowers to it.  The die seemed to be a perfect
fit for my mini slimline card!
I guess my card theme of LOVE couldn't get any bigger then this !!!

Come and join us at The Sisterhood of Crafters and
show us your LOVE!!

Sketch Saturday #744

A new sketch today at Sketch Saturday and it has an Optional Twist:
Something You Love.

This was a bit of a challenge/tricky sketch for me
but once I put my 'thinking' cap on I came up with using these corner dies from
Cheery Lynn Designs.  I had to die cut them FIVE times before I was able
to get them to work for me.  First I used my Big Shot but even with the metal shim
I could not get a good cut where I could remove the unwanted pieces.
So then I switched to a thicker (110#) card stock and ran it thru my Gemini.
All good and well but my removeable tape pulled off some of the paper
when removing it, no matter how careful I was.  After the 5th try I went with it
but you can still see in the upper right where the paper peeled.
I also used a Spellbinders scallop rectangle and a Tutti Designs Heart bunch die along
with a Waffle Flower Sentiment.
This card went to a granddaughter's 16th January birthday
(she won't notice the mistakes, lol).

We would love to see your card using this challenging sketch
at Sketch Saturday!!

Reds/Pinks Challenge

It's once again for a fun challenge at
Can You Handle The Pressure
where you must use an embossing folder,
wet embossing is okay too as long as an
embossing folder is included!

We always have an 'OPTIONAL' theme and
this time it is
Reds and/or Pink

We also have a fun prize to one random drawn
winner in the US!

Prize:

One of my 2024 goals is to use up some things that I have already
die cut, stamped, stenciled or embossed
and that is where this panel came from,
out of my box of  'to be used'!
It is an embossing folder that I applied ink to
then ran through my machine, cut down to fit my card front
by first matting on a piece of pink card stock.
Now the question is who is the embossing folder by?
I think it is a Spellbinders but I looked through my
entire collection of EB folders and couldn't find it,
and I have well over 100 to look through!
So it must of disappeared with the thieving EB folder fairy
or I'll find it under my bed with my cat embossing to her hearts content as the cats are little (fat) thieves too!

The sentiment banner is from Honey Bee and the sentiment is
Pretty Pink Posh simple Sentiments.
So get those poor neglected EB folders out and come and
have some fun with us at
Can You Handle The Pressure!

Heartfelt Challenge

Hello Double D friends, we have a new challenge theme
starting today and it is HEARTFELT
we want to see HEARTS on your projects!
As always we have a fun mood board for inspiration.

When I purchased the Waffle Flower postage set last year I loved it
and when I saw they added a postage collage Rose stencil and Love stamp set to it
I just had to order it, only thing was it was out of stock everywhere so I put in
a pre-order and waited (not too patiently I might add)for it to come in.
So, while waiting I pulled out one of the postage die cuts I already had cut
and two small Recollections Stamps set I purchased a few years ago(and have never used)
and came up with this fun card, I had intended to wait and use my new collage stencil
but when the stencil and stamps came I just added to what I had done.
You can see my 14cents is all wobbly in the right top corner but that is because these stamps
are TINY and my eyesight in these old eyes sure aren't what they used to be
and it looked straight (ahem) in my platform.
So that is how this cute little Valentine kitty card
came about.  You will see the Rose stencil used
much later on my blog.

So come on over to Double D and show us your love with
your heartfelt creations, always plenty of beautiful inspiration there
from the design teams!!

Stencil Fun February 2024

Happy February, the month where we see lots of hearts appearing
on our blogs, which is fine with me as I happen to love
working with my heart stamps and dies!

It also brings us to a new challenge theme (optional) at
Crazy Is Our Name Stencils Are Our Game
or as better known by Stencil Fun
and our optional theme (in case you haven't guessed it)
is LOVE/HEARTS!

I did a bad/good thing and joined the Spellbinders monthly
stencil club as when I saw this stencil
'My Love Grows'
I knew I had to have it!
It is a 4 layer stencil and so very easy to use, nice size too
I can't wait to see what next month brings me.
So, here is my stenciled heart card, keeping within
the optional 'heart' theme!

For my Anything Goes card I used another
Spellbinders stencil 'Layered Floral Corner'.
This is a 3 layer stencil that I picked during one of their
fabulous warehouse sales!
I added a sentiment from Sizzix, butterflies die cut
with Sue Wilson dies and a few gems to the flower centers.

We would LOVE to see you come on over and join in our
Stencil Fun!!

Peace On Earth Challenge #57

Hello my friends and welcome to our
Peace On Earth
first challenge for the month of February!
We have a fun mood board just perfect for the month of  'hearts'!
You can create anything though, as long as it is Christmas themed!!

I bet you can't tell what inspired me?
The bottom right corner of course, along with the red cardinal
in the bottom left!!

I started with a pink card stock base, then added designer paper from
Simple Stories Mix & A-Mingle.
I topped that with a Tonic Snowflake die cut from vellum.
I knew I had a die that looked like blanket stitching
and sure enough, the Pink Fresh Studios Blanket Stitch Circle
was just what I needed!!

My snowman is Cottage Cutz Snowman Peeker, I used
one of the three, it includes the cute little cardinal!
The sentiment is The Ton Easy Expressions Holiday!!

We know Christmas is over but sure would love to see YOU
at Peace On Earth
where our goal is to get those holiday cards done ahead of time!!

some of the flower centers and Stampendous
True Friends sentiment!!  Easy Peasy!

Colorful Options February 2024

Welcome to February at Colorful Options
where we are all about PINK!!
We have a fun inspiration board and want to see all things pink,
rainbow colors are allowed too !!

For my card I used a new to me stencil, die and stamp combo.
It is from a company I discovered at scrapbookdorcom
LDRS Creative right here out of Michigan my home
state, who knew??
The set is Joyful Blooms.
I stenciled first using all Altenew inks
Razzleberry, Rubellite, Pinkalicious and Pink Diamond
for the pinks and Firefly, Grass field and Shadow Creek
for the greens.

After die cutting I popped it up on a Spellbinders
Floral Oval die and finished with a Pink Fresh Studio sentiment!

Come and have some PINK fun with us at

Pink Challenge

Today at Simply Clean & Simple our
OPTIONAL theme is PINK.

Here is a reminder of what CAS means:
Clean & Simple - For our challenges, "Clean and Simple" is defined as "uncluttered, with a lot of white or open space, and minimal layers and embellishments"

I used a never been used before die from
Memory Box (2019) called Leafy Heart.
I just love how delicate it is.
The sentiment is a TH Stampers Anonymous Crazy Talk.

Two Old Bats February 2024

It's February at Two Old Bats and February seems to be the month of 'love'!
Even ghouls can celebrate love among one another I'm sure
so we have a fun 'loving' mood board for inspiration,
a bit spooky, but fun just the same!

You can choose to let the mood board inspire you or just create
anything as long as it is Halloween!

As always, I let the mood board inspire me and created a crazy fun
card using a heart rose die by Tutti Designs and a partial
skeleton by Tonic Studios.
The background paper was a last piece in my Halloween scrap bag,
the sentiment is computer generated.

Hope to see YOU over at Two Old Bats where is is ALWAYS Halloween!!

February 2024 Curious George

Hello friends, it's once again time for our monthly challenge at
A Barrel of Monkey's!!

The challenge where a child's toy/game is always our inspiration
for creativity.  You can always go with whatever you see,
maybe it's the colors, the patterns, or the toy itself,
whatever grabs 'your' eye or 'speaks' to you!!

This month our theme is Curious George!

I totally let the toy inspire me and the colors along with it.
When working for Cheapo Dies I remembered I had received
a monkey die that I had never used, so it was about time
to pull it out and use it.
My background paper is some I had purchased eons ago
(DaisyD's)
when I had the sock monkey stamp set from Stampin UP,
remember that set?  I don't have it anymore as several years ago I
purged over 100 sets of SU stamps.
I cut my Cheapo Dies monkey twice from 2 different cardstock scraps
and paper pieced one color into the other.  I placed him on a die cut
circle from Tutti Designs, added a Memory Box banner and hearts
to the top and a die cut and sentiment from Lawn Fawn to the bottom.

This is a really easy challenge, so I hope you pop on over
and play with us at
A Barrel of Monkeys!!

The Best

We are already into February, can you believe it?
Which brings us to our SECOND new challenge at
WORD POWER!
Please visit the blog to read all the rules and information on the challenge!

For my card I used a beautiful paper from Mintay Written Memories.
I saw the layout for this card on Pinterest and really liked the design
so went with it.  The top portion is a Tutti designs square cut down to the
shape and size you see.
I stamped the big sentiment from a Stampin Up set Happy Wishes.
I added my flower and greenery from sets of flowers I already had made up!
The wax cord is a last piece I had on my work desk
and it seemed to work fine!

I really love how this turned out with the gorgeous
Mintay paper and creative design!
Hope to see YOU over at Word Power with your
creation having fun with us!!

Four Seasons February Winter 2024

BRRRR....it's our last Four Seasons Winter season for now at least
and have a mood board just for winter fun inspiration!!

I let those warm hot drinks inspire me along with the red berries
and the 'bluish' tones the snow gives off.
I have been getting my money's worth out of this fun
Pretty Pink Posh Winter Mug die set along with the Fall Mug Additions
that I have accessorized my mug with!!
Can you believe there are NINE different mug additions to choose from?
Wowza, I think I need some of them since I have five more mugs
sitting on my desk to finish!!  I purchased  a LOT of new things to work
with last year and have to say this is one of my favorites!!
These pretty designer papers are from Carte Bella's
Winter Time paper packs, the rest is all made from scraps
(snippets) of papers!

So why not get out your cozy fun winter supplies
and join us over at The Four Seasons,
you have plenty of time to join in,
all the way thru the 25th to be exact when it close at 8pm.
We also added to our design team there last year
so lots of fun and beautiful inspiration to be seen,
what are you waiting for, 'come on over'!!
